I attended a conference last week and got a chance to go visit StartX, a non-profit funded by Stanford University. It’s an organization that will help launch entrepreneurs with some kind of Stanford affliation(alums, partners who might work at Stanford, etc). There was a panel of entrepreneurs who had graduated from their program and they were there to share. It was very cool to see: (1) diversity in individuals — two women entrepreneurs, various ethnicities; (2) differences in ages — younger adults and older industry veterans; and (3) variety of industries — food, gaming, software, medical The entrepreneurs were very candid about their experiences once completing the program. They raved about the support they get such as the opportunity to huddle with other entrepreneurs and just talk about issues they’re having and being able to get advice. A really good organization that is a N-O-N P-R-O-F-I-T. Their focus is not to make money off you like other organizations that are out there. Very cool.
