I stop here often when in Palo Alto. They have the best staff of any coffee store on the peninsula. The coffee and baked goods are always fresh and tasty. I enjoy coming here for all those reasons.

Peet’s is Peet’s, but at this location Peet’s is even more awesome. The staff is very friendly and parking is easy(most of the time). Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is wonderful, definitely one of the best things about this location. Great for meeting friends or for business meetings. Two minor drawbacks(at least for me) are the WiFi, which can be super slow and the parking which can be a challenge around lunch time.

This is a West Coast coffee shop chain. I will admit that I’m not a coffee drinker, but rather a tea totaler. My husband liked his coffee. I liked my chai. Service was quick and easy. I’d go here again, when on the west coast.

Cozy cool Peets! I love the subtle light arrangements in Peets… today, I tried the new«Cold Brew» cold coffee drink and it was scrumplishes! It was,(drank it in 17 seconds), IS… The bomb!!! I will drink 100 more by summers end AND buy Peets stock if available!

I’m so surprised this Peets has such a low star rating. This location is clean, has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and a good selection of food and pastries. The baristas are friendly, quick, and patient. There have been times when the line is almost out the door, but the baristas never get short-tempered as far as I have seen. I appreciate that they can make drinks so quickly under such stressful situations! Overall this Peets has a nice atmosphere, and that is a huge plus!

Worst customer service ever!!! Asked the barista to refill the milk because the container was empty. He took the container but never returned it. He just left it in the back while he continued making drink orders like he just totally ignored the request. After waiting for about 10 minutes, i went up and asked the cashier what happened to the milk so she went to the back and found the milk container just sitting there. She finally refilled it and gave it back to me. She was not apologetic or anything. It was all so disgustingly weird and ridiculous! Definitely The WORST customer service in the Bay Area ever!!!

I love this Peet’s. I come here mostly in the early morning when it’s quiet, the baristas always remember my name and my order. Nish and Cliff in particular always brighten my day. By 7 or 8am it starts to get busy, but even when the line is out the door, somehow they manage to serve everyone pretty quickly and keep the atmosphere calm and welcoming. The staff makes it feel like a neighborhood ome-away-from-home. The only beef I have is that there is so little seating, and so few outlets.

Coffee and deals! Coffee and deals! Coffee and deals! Every time I step into this establishment, I not only see signs for upcoming events but staff are always up to date & serve as a reminder of these events while encouraging their customers to take advantage of these deals. It’s safe to say that Peet’s has the best quality coffee.

Knowledgable, professional, friendly staff, ample seating and great drinks. Those are some basics when finding the right coffee shop, and this Peet’s location fits the bill. Great for a business meeting, family rest stop, or study time. When I’m in the area, I know I can get some writing and reading done, with a cool drink or warm tea to calm the nerves and belly. Indoor or outdoor seating, too. I like their Dark Chocolate and Caramel Freddo($ 4.50). Snacks and nibbles are diverse and offer some vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The staff here is SO nice! My friend and I stayed here for nearly an entire day, ordering drinks every few hours. We even brought in lunch from another restaurant in Town & Country, and they didn’t mind. Plus, when I got one drink I didn’t like, they gave me something else entirely at no additional cost. So, so nice! I just wish Peet’s in general had some more diverse drink offerings. I get that they’re trying to stay away from the Starbuck’s model of endless foo-foo, calorically overloaded creamy, sugary concoctions… But I think there’s got to be a happy medium for the bitterness-averse like me!

Unfortunately, the cash registers at this Peets had disabled their Near Field Scanning system, so there would be no using ISIS or Google Wallet to pay for my breakfast. The staff took it in stride and their customer service was otherwise speedy and courteous. The scone was fresh, the coffee was hot and tasty, and there was plenty of outside seating for breakfast in the sun. Good thing because the few indoor tables were all taken. Overall, another successful stop at Peets.

Stopped by here on my way home from work. Tiny location with basically nowhere to sit… but the friendly employees make up for the lack of space. Location is less than desirable. I think Peet’s is the most high-end place in the plaza, which is kind of depressing. I decided to ask for $ 4 back in quarters. I hate asking for change… but I randomly needed quarters. Usually, whoever is at a register would be annoyed by a request like that, but these guys didn’t seem bothered at all. DRINK: Had a Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk. Yes, ALMONDMILK. Vegans rejoice. Take note, Starbucks. It took no longer that a minute thirty to get my drink during post-work rush hour and it was delicious.

I really like this Peets, more than a lot of other coffee shops, the staff is kind and helpful while working really efficiently. This is a particularly busy Peets so if you don’t have much patience I would go elsewhere. I think many of these negative reviews come from times when the store was very busy, and it often is. The staff works very diligently and they work well but it’s hard to work efficiently when customers are often rude and demanding, as I have seen from working in this industry.

This Peet’s is okay. They are not the friendliest workers that I’ve ever met, but they are relatively quick with my coffee in the morning on my way to work. Sometimes Peet’s stores take awhile to make coffee drinks since they are steaming the milk individually and such vs. other stores that may not do this(*cough* Starbucks *cough*), but on my way to work I don’t want to have to wait around a really long time. I think the staff totally understands this, perhaps especially during the AM rush, and does their best to speed it along. The pastries here are always fresh(I do love that maple scone… as bad as it is for me!). Will continue to swing by on my way to work, but would ditch it if a better option opened up. :)

This is a busy Peets location. I stopped by one afternoon for a quick cup and I was disappointed to say the least. There was an older lady in front of me in line who asked for a cup for some water. The young woman cashier handed her a cup and then proceeded to take my order. The older woman comes back and told the cashier that the pitcher of water was empty but the cashier ignored her. As a matter of fact she avoided eye contact with me also and did not exchange any pleasantries. The woman left the store without any water. The drip coffee at this location was very bitter and tasted burnt. I know it’s a busy location, but it would be nice if the staff would keep the area where the«cream and sugar» is located stocked and clean… it wasn’t. This is the worst Peets store I’ve ever been to in the Bay Area… never again.

Alright, that’s it. I’m sorry but Peet’s Coffee and Tea is horrid. Maybe it’s just that one store, maybe it’s just the stupidity of the people who work there, maybe it’s a combination of both. Whatever it is, they make one crappy cup of coffee. I RARELY give reviews on Unilocal, but the service at this particular store was just THATBAD.(Flavor of the coffee didn’t help any either.) I don’t like writing bad reviews, and I try really hard to give the place a chance before writing them off completely, but when I order coffee(be it in the form of espresso or just plain drip coffee) I expect it to TASTE like coffee, not water with a hint of old milk. What a waste of money. I gave them a shot, really I did. I have tried their coffee(from this particular location) several times There were two occasions where I happened to be in line behind someone who ordered those big containers of coffee to go, and the employee was explaining why their order wasn’t ready yet. On another trip, they gave me caffeinated instead of decaf(I always confirm it’s decaf before actually accepting the cup, I know mistakes can happen). When I pointed out that I had ordered decaf, the employee rolled his eyes at me and took the cup back like I had insulted him personally. I’ve even ordered a couple of their half pound bags of their beans(different blends so I could find what I did and didn’t like). Personally, I found the coffee to be extremely weak in flavor(and I’ve tried several different blends). Their tea on the other hand, is so strong, I nearly gagged on the floral flavoring(which the employees kept trying to tell me is how it’s supposed to taste. They called it «pungent» and«relaxing». I call it gross and not worth the money.) Don’t bother asking the employees about their coffee though, they all give you the company line«Our coffee is the best!». I felt like I was talking to a bunch of brainwashed cheerleaders any time I asked them anything about the coffee, the roasting process, where the beans come from, and even when I asked about their teas. I do not plan on ever ordering from this place(or any other Peets) again.

Pretty much the worst Peet’s I’ve ever been to … and this, coming from one of Peet’s’s biggest fans! The place is crowded, noisy, and laid out in a very user-unfriendly manner. The coffee I had there — whatever house blend they were featuring that day — was absolutely awful, and thus not at all what I was expecting. But what puts this Peet’s in a class of its own is its staff, which ranges from mildly annoying to outright stupid and pushy. It’s hard to describe just what went on in the clusterf – k that was my attempt to learn about the coffee I hoped to purchase. It started with an attempt to talk to a guy who was affable enough, but somewhat mumbly. But just as we were finally making headway, he was interrupted by «Nila»(I think her name was) who pushed herself into the conversation, only to reveal that she knew almost nothing about coffee and even less about the English language. Seriously, no matter how many times and in what ways I asked for the origin of the beans, I couldn’t get past: «All of our beans are roasted locally, sir.» And no matter how many times I tried to find out if they had anything in a light roast, I couldn’t get past«My dog’s name is spot» or «Purple is a lovely color for flowers» or something equally irrelevant to the conversation. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t so hard getting rid of her. But she was persistent. And really, the only thing worse than someone who is unhelpful is someone who is helpfully unhelpful! Funny(or sadly) enough, the only way out of the situation was for my wife and I to sit down, finish our(terrible) coffee, and wait for Nila to be busy doing something else, so we could come back and talk to the mumbly guy again. In the end, we got nowhere — buying some beans to go, not so much because we really wanted them anymore, but because it seemed a convenient way to make an exit and never return again. Worse still, however, is my fear that this experience reflects a deeper demise in Peet’s, a revered venue that I once proudly called my favorite. Unhelpful, un-knowledgeable staff, bad coffee, and general unpleasantness are now the norm. It was one thing to watch a bad chain like Starbucks kill off all my favorite local places, but it’s quite another to see a once-good chain kill itself. Peet’s is rotting from the inside, and it will be a happy miracle if nothing else catches the infection.

Stopped in here to grab a coffee before hitting a class at Sur La Table. I had received a gift certificate for Peet’s awhile ago(I used most of it for beans.) but there was enough left over for a coffee. Unfortunately, there was a fly in the lid. Gross, but it happens, and it didn’t turn me off from coming back. I received a card for another free coffee, and finally used it. I like Peet’s coffee,(especially since it’s not Starbucks.) Although, I rarely get coffee from a coffee shop, since i make my own at home daily, and I don’t do fancy coffee drinks. Plain, black coffee is it for me. The ground coffee from here is great, and the staff is pleasant. I prefer the lighter roasts, and you have a better chance of getting those in bean form here.

Totally recommend Peet’s chai latte over Fourbucks. I love how Peets drinks do not have weird after tastes the way Fourbucks does. The line moves really great despite the huge volume of coffed fiends. And the baristas are pretty cheery even when the Pressure Is On. I was feeling pretty intense after being stuck in Palo Alto traffic and they knew exactly how to handle me. :D Very close to the Westin!
