Hoover is one of 12 great elementary schools in the Palo Alto Unified School District.
Wonderful staff & dedicated, talented teachers.
Great programs in music, art, technology & science.
Hoover is adjacent to J.L. Stanford Middle School and Mitchell Park.

I went to this school in the 80’s when it was on Barron Street (it used to be at the current location of Barron Park Elementary.)
Hoover had a strong emphasis on academics, making it the polar opposite of Ohlone School.
What I remember most about Hoover was being placed in the awesome extra-curricular math and science (Mrs. Shepard!) courses in the later grades. I was also in the French program (mais non, je né parle pas francais.)
Unfortunately for those of us who had gone to Hoover, the middle school curriculum at JLS was ridiculously simplistic and not appropriate for us.
If you can send your kids to Hoover, you should. But send them to a *private* middle school.
