Just walking distance from the office and being on Middlefield road there isn’t much places to choose from to have lunch. I tried their super shrimp taco without beans and it was pretty good. It comes with a small side of tortilla chips(when I say small I mean by a small handful of chips) 3 stars and not 4 or 5? Mainly because this place is small and there is very limited space to eat. The portions are ok even though I wished they added more tortilla chips and maybe some salsa. The price is pretty expensive than what I’m used to. $ 7 for one taco is a bit much, but the food was good and they take card so hey maybe I’ll try this place again.

This is my family’s go-to neighborhood taqueria. The food is fresh, tasty, and not wildly over-salted(avoiding the most common taqueria pitfall). Recommendations include anything with carnitas, breakfast burritos, and tortilla soup. If you’re in Midtown and develop a burrito craving, skip Sancho’s and go to Como Esta.(If you doubt my advice, I offer you a challenge: Go to both places, order tortilla soup, and do a side-by-side taste test.)

I had a regular burrito here for $ 6.90. It came with meat of your choice, rice, beans and hot or mild salsa. The burrito was fairly decent. It’s just that there wasn’t much that stood out about this burrito. The burrito came with some tortilla chips and there were squeeze bottles of either green or red salsa to accompany the chips. The restaurant is fairly small with seating that is parallel to the kitchen. There is also some outdoor seating. Overall the burrito is decent and it is a fair value for a lunch meal.

My favorite local spot. They really make you feel welcome. They accommodate lots of preferences/allergies and even have a great low carb burrito(dairy free, which is perfect for me). Prices are quite reasonable and food is fresh and tasty.

Tasty food with lots of options for different diets and allergies. Always great service and the staff is good about accommodating special requests. The carnitas burrito is a favorite. The taco salad is a good option to avoid too many calories.

Good Food. Decent prices. Nice people! Quick turn around! I often walk here from Philz’s Coffee when I need a break from grading papers. Tweet Tweet. I am a fan.

I am extremely disappointed in this taqueria. The food was quite good but the lady treated me and my friends terribly. My friend spilled his drink but did not take immediate action in cleaning as he was eating his food. The lady aggressively handed my friend a towel and said«if you do not clean this right now I will call the police» very disappointed as the food was good. Never going back

I love the barbacoa and the fish tacos a lot! I’m addicted to the chipotle sauce. Food is pricey but I work next door so I call my order in and it’s waiting for me which is helpful during a busy work day!

Average taqueria, will come back to try other menu items. I got a burrito, but I wouldn’t recommend the chicken, mine was pretty charred. Otherwise a good tasting experience, their salsas have a good flavor, not too spicy, terrible chips though. Big portions.

Used DoorDash to order so can’t speak to the customer service aspect. FYI. This place is decent and definitely one of the better Mexican joints in the Bay Area that I’ve tried. But it isn’t excellent. I judge my Mexican selections on the quality of a carne asada burrito, because asada is hard to do well and because burritos are even harder. The asada here is nice and the burritos are OK. I always struggle to find places that get the order of ingredients and the composition of those ingredients just right, and this place misses the mark. They’ve messed up my order on two occasions, so while that doesn’t speak to the quality of the food, maybe it speaks to something else.

Is it the best Mexican food I’ve ever had? It might be. It’s definitely the best Mexican food I’ve ever had delivered to my house.

Let me start by saying great food, the tortilla, the guac, the meat is all delicious. Why on earth would I give this place one star? Poor service. Lady at the counter calls out my order, another customer takes my order w/out me noticing. I realize 10 minutes later and ask for a little extra rice. She says«there’s a charge for that, it was your fault. We called your number.» *look at her dumbfounded and shake my head in disgust* So if John Doe orders a caramel frapp at Starbucks and Jim takes John’s drink, it is John’s fault for not stopping Jim and he should NOT be entitled to extra caramel at no cost for waiting?

Not good, don’t eat here, simply just no. I’m not a Mexican food expert but I don’t like beans in my tacos, why? Because it seems like a filler. Most taquerias I’ve been to have just meat, cilantro, onions and salsa. Bare minimum but quality. Why mess with the tried and true when you’re not adding any substance. I got a super taco and it had mcdonalds shredded cabbage lettuce you get from a mcchicken. What is that? And I got the spiciest salsa and I didn’t even taste it, maybe they forgot to add it. Their salsa bar salsa had more flavor than my taco which was mush. Their carna asada had good texture but no taste, awesome. They do give quite a bit for their super taco, which I had to pick at a little bit with a fork before I was able to manage holding it together. But for what they made up in quantity, they definitely lacked in quality. This spot is basically catered to the Americanized taste buds of the surrounding area. If I’m going to eat non-authentic Mexican food, I rather go to chipotle. Btw I have verizon and I couldn’t get data reception in there, so I couldn’t even check in to prove I was there and write this review. They take card though so that’s a plus.

I walked in there and I felt so disrespected. It felt like they hated customers/didn’t want their money. It’s either they have a horrible boss or they just hate their job. Their service is really rude –they do not smile or say thank you… when you ask them some? s they look at you like you are stupid for not understanding Spanish. They did describe in English next to some items but some items the writing faded and you could not read them. I paid $ 10.01 for a bowl but it looks like a side dish. I am disappointed. Didn’t even taste great and was not hot at all. Smh…

Quick service, friendly staff, and good food. The salsas are made fresh daily, and are very palate pleasing. Try the salsa verde(my favorite)!!! Their price point is higher than that of taqueria’s elsewhere(beyond Palo Alto elsewhere), but with the rents the way they are in Palo Alto, it’s fitting.

I used to go here a lot in high school. It’s been 4 years but their food is still amazing. You know you got a good deal when you run out of nachos before meat!

Another old favorite from when I used to live in Palo Alto. I decided to try it again since moving back and it is still just as yummy as I remember it. I used to always get the super quesadilla. Carnitas quesadilla with lettuce tomato sour cream and salsa on the side. Few years later I come back and their menu is still the same with a few extras. I decided to try their burrito bowl since I love the ones at chipotle. Very different from the chipotle burrito bowl but still delicious. Very fresh tasting, the lettuce was nice a crunchy. And at first I thought the portions was a bit small, by the time I finished it all I was food coma-ed out. So glad this place hasn’t changed!

Taco Salad on a «crispy tortilla» was clearly what mislead me here after I walked away from 2 bookmarks that was a cash only establishment. I use my debit card and if I must, my credit card so that was an inconvenience for me however, it is my choice to not carry cash. I mean seriously, what if I feel like ordering $ 40-$ 50 worth of food for myself? Does everyone carry that much cash in their wallet? Not me… And yes, I have spent $ 40 on just myself in one meal before. A very small and crammed little hole in the wall. I usually try to believe that hole in the walls are gems regardless of cleanliness but this little place did not give me that reassurance that I needed. I ordered anyway because I was starving and already parked. If you need prescription glasses to see far, remember to bring them because the menu is a billboard hung high and far on your right. Luckily I had their menu on the Unilocal app so ordered away: chicken taco salad and a side of rice for my little one. Salsas are made fresh but I didn’t need it because the salad was actually very refreshing despite the invisible crispy tortilla. I had a few tortilla chips that was lined around the plate which sufficed, I guess. I was asked what type of beans I wanted. Of course lard is used to make refried beans otherwise I would have chosen that. Pinto beans was my choice and it was tender and chewy. The lettuce was crisp and cool and everything else incorporated well except my choice of meat. I did not know what I was consuming at one point. If you really needed a taco salad like yours truly, I suggest you go elsewhere. P. S. This place is vegetarian friendly.
