Definitely a hidden gem. Well, «gem» may sound a little strong for a place that just sells pretty good sandwiches and other stuff, but for these prices(under $ 6 for a turkey club) in Palo Alto it’s the best-kept secret in the area. And the good thing about that is there’s never a line!

Sandy and Jessica are the friendly Korean ladies that run the café underneath City Hall. The food is good, the price is great considering it’s in Palo Alto, and the service is great. They rotate a large number of dishes every week to keep things fresh. Be sure to try the Kimchi Pork Burrito and the Bi Bim Bop on the days that they have them. In terms of value, this place is awesome. I’ve been looking for a lower-priced lunch in downtown Palo Alto and I think I’ve finally found the place I’ll be going to regularly.

The once employee only cafeteria of City Hall has opened up to the public. It’s a small room serving sandwiches, breakfast items, soups, salads, etc. Real basic eats for the short on time lunch set. Though largely American in focus I saw some specials like pot stickers and other Asian ethnic eats on their weekly menu. Decent caffeinated beverages and soft drinks to boot
