Weis Markets

We like Weis markets. They are clean and the people there are usually very friendly. Produce is always fresh. We do go out of our way to shop at a Weis store.

Having just moved to the area a few days ago, and having an empty refrigerator and belly, I decided to check out Weis. I’m glad I did.
The place is very similar to many other grocery stores with a great comparison being Giant Eagle. The store is well laid out, clean, well lit, and was sneaky/​smart to put the bakery right near the front door. First thing that hit my nostrils was the smell of cake and cinnamon buns. It was hard not to stop and grab one.
All of the aisles were well stocked and labeled well enough to find anything just by reading and exploring. There was this really cool buffet sort of thing past the produce where you could buy lots of pre-​made food and take it home. The seafood and butchery areas host quite a bit of types and cuts and there is quite a variety of things you can find in here.
The help desk was being ran by two very friendly workers who helped me sign up for a Weis card, because there is nothing a broke college kid likes more than saving money. The cashier that rang me up was very friendly and quick at her job and was even nice enough to get me an application.
Overall, I would say that it is my new favorite grocery store alongside Aldis. I will be doing all of my grocery shopping here, save for a few odd things.

I am compelled to always stop in new coffee places and new (to me) grocery stores. It’s fun, and I like to compare prices/​items. I thought this was a great store. The hours were perfect for late night snack shopping. My friend and I bought a shoe fly pie. I almost didn’t because honestly, does that sound good? Well, it was delicious. It reminded me of a hermit cookie on the top and gooey fruity stuff (which was only molasses, I think) at the bottom.
Prices were great. I need to add that everything in PA seemed cheaper than what I normally pay in MA. I wished I could have grocery shopped for the week at this place and brought it home! The cashier was friendly too.
I’m officially jealous of all the great supermarkets in the Hershey area!
