Name is Rivanna Restaurant. Nice country feel. Old-​fashioned grill style. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and small order of sweet potato fries to go. My order total was $ 10.10. The order came up fairly quickly for made to order. The burger was thick and delicious and the bacon was perfectly crispy. However, they put American cheese on the burger and I had specifically ordered cheddar because I do not like American which was a bit of a bummer. The sweet potato fries had a good flavor but were slightly burnt. Overall, the meal was quite filling and good.

Food is OK if you are seeking greasy and have time to wait around. However, this is the last time that we go because it was so incredibly SLOW.
You would assume a place like this can crank out orders quickly. We came in last weekend and the restaurant was barely a quarter full. After 10 minutes of waiting just to be acknowledged (and seeing groups of staff convening behind the counter for what seemed like ½ of that time), a waitress finally comes to our table and tells us «just a moment». She then heads over to another table that just arrived, gave a hug, and started chit chatting. We immediately got up and started leaving (mind you this takes a few minutes with 2 year old twins) and not even a word to us. This also happened to two friends in the last months, and they have sworn off Rivahsyde.
If management or owners read this, fix your service or you’ll suffer the same fate as most restaurants in this area. Your food is not good enough for the wait. I’d much rather spend my money at the Dogwood across the street.

Better than its namesake Riverside in Charlottesville! Food has more flavor. Glad they added ciders to their drinks list!

Unfortunately no stars isn’t an option. Apparently the cash register crashed and none of the techno dopes knew how to reboot it. The snotty waitress barked at us and said they were closed with a dining room full of customers. Never, ever, ever going back!

Came here with a big family and everyone had a great meal. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, chimi, and hash browns were all top notch. Can’t beat the price either. Very family friendly place with friendly staff and good food.

Great burgers, and plenty of fries come in one basket for two people.
A couple of things would make me give 5 stars and that is new or repaired booth seating (they were all extremely torn up with foam missing out of the seat), and a little more attention from wait staff. They were prompt taking the order and getting it back out by never came by to check on us after that.

It was ok. The appetizers are better then the entrees The prices are a tad stiff for a burger joint. $ 70 for 4 people at lunch time. The staff needs some caffeine to speed up their sluggish service. It has plenty of seating indoor and out.

This place is great for burgers. Friendly staff even remembered my order and it’s been at least a few weeks since I came in last. There are other things on the menu like hot sandwiches and polish dogs and more but I always go for the burger and onion rings. Happy camper over here.

If you dont mind picnic style food then its a good place. i was basically told that they use frozen fried pickles but they were still good. everythibg else was good to but i would only go again due to convienient location.

They have a lot to choose from on the menu. The food is good and I like that their kitchen is right there (viewable as they make your food). Plenty of seating inside, with counter seating, too.
Good for greasy fried food cravings. The one negative thing I’d say is that we had a hell of a time trying to find info about it online when we first moved here because the name of the restaurant is spelled so funny. Now it’s kind of a running joke. «Let’s eat at Rivaaahsyyyyyde».

I had a cheeseburger with grilled onions, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The burger was pretty good, but they could have went easy on the onions. I ended up having to pick a few onions off my burger. Also, the onions were a little on the mushy side. The shoestring fries were tasty and the milkshake was really good, but a bit pricy. All in all, I would definitely come back.

When I am in the mood for a burger, this is where I go. I can always count on my burger being well prepared and served up exactly the way I want it. DH and I usually get a large order of thick cut onion rings to share. I have not really tried much else on their menu (except for the fried clam basket — yum!). And by how much I like their burgers, I probably will not.
The service is typically quick with the waitstaff checking to see if I need a refill of my iced tea.

Update: Do NOT order the gyro! Unless you like raw onions smothering some sort of goat meat and a ‘cheese’ like mass… it was served cold and the waitress ran away from me after she put it down on the table.

Simply the best burgers around. This rural location is somehow related to the Charlottesville «Riverside» restaurant that has been a success for decades; thanks for coming to FLuvanna!

Really, really good burgers. Careful of the fries. They are a huge serving. A large is enough for two people, maybe more. Cheap eats.

Good cheap food. Service is a bit slow sometimes when they’re busy. Great place if you prefer skinny fries.

They got off to a but of a shaky start, but the food there is now very solid, and very well priced. Fresh hamburger meat every day, all-​beef hotdogs, and the shoestring fries are great. My wife really likes the BLT, and you can get all those little comfort-​food diner items that most places don’t have. Take-​out service is great, but sometimes the service in-​house can be a bit slow.
