I feel obligated to write a review because I have seen negative reviews and want to set the record straight. I went to two concerts at Hershey last summer, and neither would have been as awesome for such a great price if I didn’t stay at the Dutch with my bros. The lady there is very friendly, the place is a short drive to the venue, and people who stay there are always down to party. Also the pool is a great place to pregame and soak some rays. The place is not a 5 star resort, but if you are looking to have a good time and need a place to crash/swim some laps STAYHERE. Also it’s walking distance to a Sheetz and a Wendy’s if you need food.

We wanted to spend the night in the area after a day at the Renaissance Faire in nearby Manheim. Since the 3 or 4 motels in Manheim are almost always booked well in advance on Ren Faire weekends(and jacked up in price!), I looked in a 15 mile radius for something reasonable, like under 100 bucks for the night. Dutch Motel in nearby Palmyra really fit the bill. I used to make the reservation and got a special discounted rate of 45 dollars for the night. Compare that to others in the area that are 150 – 200 dollars a night. I know I know, you get what you pay for. If we wanted a weekend getaway we might have kicked in extra for nicer digs. We just wanted a place to sleep for the night and we found it. First off, check-in was quick and friendly. King bed was comfortable and linens were clean. Flat panel wall mount TV with Direct TV. Bathroom was clean, with plenty of hot water for our showers. AC /heat worked just fine too. Check-out was quick and friendly as well. As far as value motels go, this is an easy 4 stars. It is an older motel that has been updated to keep up with the times. For what they charge a night, they’ve done just fine. Nice little neighborhood, close to the Ren Faire and Hershey, we will probably stay here again.
