I had came into the Colony Inn around 5:45 today, and got greeted by a girl named Bre. I politely asked if they were hiring and she had told me «um no, not right now.» So I told her to let the people know in the back I’m dropping a resume off. Rudely she asked me «Um are you 21?» I told her no so then she just walks away without giving me information about what she was doing with my resume, and if my resume was going to get to the owners. I have came in here before to eat with friends and I had great experience(which I give a 5 star), but I felt as that was really bad customer service and the unexpected attitude is not necessary for that business. I think everyone else and even the rest of the staff that I know are great!

A nice Palmer lunch spot. We decided to try someplace new to us today. The service was excellent. The food was great and reasonably priced. I really liked the variety of sides not just fries. We both had sliders. Mine was the prime rib on pretzel bun and husband had the pastrami. I had onion rings as my side and he got the soup of the day which was a cream soup. Sliders were great! We traded sandwiches so we could try both. I liked them both but I will order the pastrami next time. The pretzel bun was a perfect crusty compliment to the meat and spicy mustard. Tip: all good palmer restaurants fill up noon to 1 weekdays. We went at 1 and it was still busy but we didnt have to wait. And the kitchen was fast.

Not much to say about this one. The Colony Inn is one and the same as The Noisy Goose. Never did figure out why there are 2 distinctly different names on the same marque, but no worries, I gave The Noisy Goose the same review! Isn’t that a time saver!?!

Great food in Palmer! I had the Ribeye steak with onion rings and it was awesome! Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. My friend had the French dip sandwich which he enjoyed. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy another great meal. Reasonable price.

This is the best restaurant in Palmer, hands down. The food is amazing, with a homemade twist on everything. Prices are fair, and less than the competition. The service is phenomenal, and it has a great country vibe inside. The ribs and the BBQ pork sandwich are my personal favorites. The dessert is delicious, and the burgers are giant and delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, go down there and try it.

Outstanding restaurant. I just moved to Palmer in September and have already eaten here several times. Between myself and boyfriend we have had crab sandwich, hamburger, NY Strip steak, ribs and chicken as well as chowder. All delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly medium well. The combo plate of either steak/chicken and half rack ribs is awesome but too much for each of us to finish so had to take some ribs home to enjoy the next day. Ribs were tender, succulent. There was also a Sunday brunch just finishing up on our last visit that looked like it would be good to try some time. The décor is cozy. This place seems really popular and could use another table or two but not really a lot of room inside to do that. Sunday seemed like extremely busy time and they do not have soup on Sundays. I would recommend going here during late afternoon, dinner hours as then they serve warm bread before the meal. They do have some limited seafood here(seafood bucket of crab, mussels, corn on cob) but I have not tried it because once I smell the steak and ribs now, that’s what I have to order.

Only 1 review from 2009, so let me update you all with my 2014 stay… The internet did not work, and when I asked for help they said they didn’t even know the name of the router and that they couldn’t reset it. They said it worked for them just fine(mind you they are in a lobby at a different hotel down the road) so that was that. The breakfast was a $ 15 charge for all you can eat liquid eggs and rubber meat. There are creepy porcelain dolls and a gross musty smell. Tons of cracking and noises coming from the ceiling above us that kept us up all night. All for about $ 100/night! Rip off! My biggest concern with this place is the management. There is an unruly old man stomping around the hotel at all hours. Most the time I had to listen to him lecture about Obama and people taking«hand-outs». He had that type of demeaning voice that makes you cringe with every word. As I sat in the lobby I saw another guest talking with him and the old man had a snarky attitude and was finally told off. Truly it’s been a miserable stay here at the Colony Inn and I took the time to write this review to save you all. Please consider a different hotel for your stay in Palmer. Best of luck!

The Colony Inn was originally the teacher’s dorm for the main school when the colonists arrived(the Mat Su Borough offices are now in the old school which is located just next door) in Palmer in the 30s. They have about 12 rooms which are all updated & nicely furnished, and each has a private bath, most have jetted tubs & all have small refrigerators, tvs, etc. Great views of either the green space, town, and/or the mountains. We recently toured both the Valley Hotel and the Colony Inn when we were looking for a place for the in-laws to stay. The rooms at the Colony Inn are far nicer. Rooms are reasonably priced ~$ 100. There are a couple of different sizes of rooms to choose from. If you have guests coming definitely go tour the Inn and see what you think — but know they fill up quickly in the summer tourist season. Since the Café at the Inn is run by another individual, they are only open for lunch most days(I think). They have excellent corn chowder & quiche. Nice selection of sandwiches too. Each day they have a lunch special for about $ 10.95 which includes salad, quiche, & a cup of the daily soup. Very yummy. They only have about 8 tables, some for 4 people, some for 6, so they are usually pretty busy during lunchtime, but will take reservations if you call ahead. I think at the Inn you are more on your own than if you stayed at the Valley Hotel, it is quiet & peaceful, and seemed like a great place to stay. The Valley Hotel is kind of noisy, on a busy street, and the restaurant is open 24 hrs.
