Seems that the quality of food went down hill since the restaurant make over. I have gone there for years and I wasn’t impressed the last time I went. I had the fish and chips. I’m pretty sure the fish was previously frozen. It was dry and tasteless. The coleslaw was bland. I’ve gotten it in the past and it was very good. I was looking forward to having it again. Don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon.

Have gone three times, twice in a row because of how good it was. Great portions with good prices and SO fresh. Marinara was delicious, seafood on point, sandwiches and wraps all fantastic, can’t complain! Oh and their house dressing for the salad is my favorite thing ever. SOGOOD. can’t wait to go back

A little disappointed in the quality of the meal and portion size and value… Got the corned beef special thinking actual corned beef WRONG! Got sandwich meat corned beef grilled and steamed with literally 4 baby carrots and a small slice of cabbage and 3 slices of a smashed potato. Toasted rye bread $ 10.95? I know they can do better than that! Service was okay.

Have had good meals here but today I was disappointed. My wife and I stopped in for a quick meal, they had stuffed peppers(plural) for a special which I ordered. My stuffed peppers turned out to be a pepper cut in half. I expressed my disappointment to our waitress telling her that it was advertised as stuffed peppers and all I got was one pepper which I could have purchased at a diner for $ 6.95 not the $ 12.95 they charged. While she agreed with me and thought the portion very small and went to the manager with my issue, no consideration was made on the check nor did the manager come out himself to talk wth me. Furthermore, she told me that the manager said they can’t control the size of the peppers that the produce company brings them. Asked again, is this stuffed peppers or stuffed pepper… My wife asked her if we cut an orange in half does that make it oranges? Will have to consider if I’ll take my business/money here in the future. Too bad, thought the new owners/managers would want to make their customers happy.

We ordered pizza for a company party yesterday and it was great. The buffalo chicken pizza had blue cheese on it, the party size pizzas were good size.

Went there to give this place a chance again after the remodel … The one star is not for the food because we never ate. Came in for lunch. Place was a little busy not crazy … Stood there waiting for a booth to be cleaned for about 5 minutes. No one acknowledged us at all !!! No attempt to say be with you. I’m pretty sure we are not invisible… Very disappointed but our next stop was amazing … Thanks to the great service at tap room grill(she was very busy) and still saw us !! Hmmm

We hadn’t stopped by in a while and when we left I was wondering why. It’s not a fine dining restaurant. It’s a family pizza restaurant. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are plentiful. You will always have some to take home. I had the chicken and broccoli Alfredo and my wife ordered a turkey club. My dinner came with a salad and hers with fries. The salad was crisp and fresh. Not a gourmet salad but as I said previously it’s a family pizza place. My wife’s fries were excellent. Crispy hot and tasty. Turkey club was a turkey club. My Alfredo was very good with a nice portion of tender chicken and crisp tender broccoli. Service was friendly and prompt. I won’t take that long to go back again.

Been going here forever! Never disappointed. The chicken parm is incredible and HUGE! Enough for lunch the next day. They have several specials every day. With the competition restaurants are in. Apollo is one that stands out!

I visited Palmer MA for a few days and one night we ordered out from Apollos. I’m from NJ and we have a few pretty good Italian take out places so I wasn’t expecting much. When we picked it up and got in the car my hopes were picked up by the great smell. Maybe it was because I was so hungry but I thoroughly enjoyed my baked ziti. The sauce was good, the cheese melted nicely and the bread that came with it tasted fresh and was nice and soft. I went back for thirds and had a bit of my friend’s chicken parm. The chicken was moist and tasty. Next time I visit I am 100% stopping in again.

Maybe it’s because I’m just easy to please, or maybe because I came in on an empty stomach and would have devoured anything, but the Apollo’s pizza was heavenly. Light crispy crust, cheese melted just right, and delicious toppings. The décor was lovely and service friendly. I wouldn’t just eat here again, I’d bring friends or family. Highly recommended.

Great place, great pizza! A little slow with the service sometimes but hey, who’s in a rush for a good night of pizza and relaxation.

First of all, the first thing you see when you walk in is a small hand-written sign«Please seat yourself». OK, so we did. The waitress, who I believe was an owner, did not even look at us when she came to the table to drop off the menus. She was obviously pre-occupied with something else. We got a couple sodas, they came ok. We ordered a turkey sandwich and a pastrami club. It was lunch and we weren’t overly hungry. Just a couple quick sandwiches. Right! It took 20 minutes for the food to get to us, meanwhile the waitress was talking to the table behind us(loudly). They were regulars, obviously, they knew each others’ business, and now I do too thanks to the Looong conversation! The runner brought our food, plopped down the plates, wrong, I might add. We had to switch them, she didn’t even ask. The food was ok, Nothing special. I’d rather get a to-go sandwich from the Big Y. I won’t be back.

I love Apollo. It’s not fancy and the service can be inconsistent… but for some reason that just doesn’t bother me. The pizza is delicious and we’ve ordered it for take-out many times. When we dine in, we’ve gotten the meals and they are HUGE and reasonably priced. The chicken parm. is well cooked with lots of gooey cheese and comes with a side of pasta. I’ve also had the chicken and broccoli pasta which was huge as well. Always enough for lunch the next day. For lunch I’ve had the turkey club and french fries and it’s everything you’d want from a sandwich and fries. I really have no complaints about the food. As long as you know what it is(no frills dining), you’ll enjoy it here.

Pizza is excellent: we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza, and it was absolutely perfect, with the taste of buffalo just right in the pizza. They also have excellent sides, like fried zucchini and mozzarella cheese sticks. Generally speaking, this is a great place to stop when you want to get some food in Palmer near the Mass Pike.

I would probably ride 90 miles again for this pizza. Not a huge selection of toppings but great pizza. Quick and fresh. And an unlimited supply of diet coke. Or so it seemed. Our waitress was great — responsive and professional. And wasn’t visibly alarmed at our leather pants as can sometimes be the case. Unanswered questions include — is the name inspired from the space program or Greek culture? The décor suggested a third possibility with which I was unfamiliar. Should we try the 32 slice party pizza next time? It looked good. And where is this jukebox?

I adore Apollos, the portions are huge and the food is tasty. I love jamming out to late 90s music with the table jukebox. The waitresses lack character and are even a lil scary at times, but I guess if you are a local, you just are used to the tacky décor and unpleasant service.

If your looking for good no frills Italian food in a casual and friendly atmosphere this is the place. Started with the broasted chicken wings with a mild buffalo sauce and there fantastic very crispy with just the right amount of heat. Next the girls and I split a large combo pizza which was also very delicious. The wife had the veal parm and she was very pleased with portion and flavor. This place is worthy if repeat business.

One thing I hate about Unilocal is the majority of its reviewers are 20 – 30 year olds. This is probably because they grew up with the internet, while the older population did not, thus the older folk are not as tech savvy to post unbiased reviews on . Palmer is a beautiful small town. Unfortunately much to boring for a city«hipster» who only frequent overpriced, overhyped, fashionable establishments in Cambridge or Newton. But it’s all about being seen, and acting cool, right? As someone who has lived in Brighton and hungout at the Rat in Kenmore, before the old city was torn down and became a rich college kids play-ground, I too have a problem with the two«Boston» reviews below. As for an unbiased review from someone who has lived around the city, my wife and I love this place. It is a typical small town, restaurant with an above average menu. We have eaten here 6 or so times now and never have left disappointed. Nothing fancy here, but the food is good and the staff is great in that they make you feel right at home.(Unless you live in a million dollar condo in the Back Bay or live such the cool edgy life style of oh-so-witty Jason B.)

Blech. That about sums it up. I have had a few meals here. The turkey sandwich was ok. Salad and pizza were not good and I wanted to go to McDonalds afterwards for a chicken sandwich and ice cream cone. Save your time and money and go pick up some granola bars instead ;-)

A quick stop in the town of Palmer, MA on our way to the Berkshires revealed(and sorry to any who live/grew up in this town) a pretty lowbrow hodgepodge of sketchy bars, sketchy taverns and sketchy pubs. About the only place that looked like it didn’t come with a side of tomaine was Apollo I Pizza(suggesting that the intrepid owners had established a sequel somewhere) next to the Hometown Video in a small strip mall. Inside, it looked as if everything was ordered straight out of the Greek Motifs In Bad Taste catalog. I did, however, give them respect for having the old school jukeboxes in the booths, a la Papa Gino’s of yore in the Harborblight Mall. The visibly witless server who lurked at a table perusing some local stab at journalism looked less than thrilled to see us. In fact, she looked downright upset. We seated ourselves, and ordered a couple of drinks. Sam on draft for me(kudos) and a glass of red for the fiancée. Glass of wine was bloody huge. We split a small pizza and a salad since we didn’t want to load up and fall asleep at the wheel. The pizza is Greek. Surprise. Greasy, thick crust, though the toppings were fairly fresh. The salad was a predictable pile of iceberg lettuce, two cucumber slices and some mushy tomatoes. When we finished, the fiancée summed it up for both of us: «Let us leave this place and never return.»
