The 29th annual Tram Road Challenge was my first. This is a really good race and is great for all fitness levels. I think what makes this race so great for everyone is the incline… It’s insane so people who run now have to do so on an incline. You’ll see that most people start walking right away and then it is all about supporting people to the finish. So don’t be fooled by it only being 3.7 miles… It’s 3.7 miles UPHILL. Medal at the end is the icing on the cake, makes you feel like a winner.

Think you can run hills? Try 6K of straight uphill(OK, there’s ONE downhill section — of about 100 yards or so) climbing 2,600 feet to the top. That’s half a mile, folks! The Tram Road Challenge whipped my ass. But training for it made me a better runner, so it’s all good. And if you really want a challenge, don’t take the shuttles down. Take a cool down run down the tram road and rack up nearly 8 miles up and back. It’s organized by Klein Clark Sports, so all the subtleties are taken care of. Adequate port-a-potties; chip-timed, event photography, tech shirt, and a medal! All for only $ 40!
