This place was frustrating. The sandwiches were good, but the restaurant itself needs some help. The bathroom was gross — there was pee in the toilet, the seat was up(I know, I know, but if you have a shared restroom… gentlemen, please), there was art precariously leaning on the wall, and the faucet sprayed water all over the floor. I felt icky when I came out. We travel with our dog, and I was annoyed that despite having outdoor space and shade, there was no place to sit and eat outside. We ended up having to eat in the car, which was not ideal. The sandwiches were warm and soft, and the Dutch crunch bread was amazing. Good selection of sandwiches, and drinks. I was craving a ham sandwich, and none of the specialty sandwiches had ham(?) but the chicken was delicious. I really think this place could go from good to great if they focused on the spot as a whole experience beyond the food.

My go to lunch place every time I’m in Palm Springs. I always go for the Dutch Crunch bread. It’s walkable from the Hilton and Convention Center.

We love these sandwiches! The #5 is my favorite: marinated chicken breast, avocado, cheddar and super thin bacon. Always get the Dutch Crunch bread. I dream about this bread. If you love a good sandwich, this is a Must Stop sandwich shop in Palm Springs!

The best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Hands down. The dreamkiller is my all-time favorite; it’s perfect when I add their bomb sauce. I’ve stopped here about 6 times and I’ve never been disappointed. I usually come with my boyfriend and I get the dreamkiller and he gets something new to try then we trade halves. The décor is very modern with local artists’ work on the walls. They usually have tennis playing on the TV. Very kind and engaging with customers which I love. They take great care with how they display their sandwhiches. We had the thigh master last time. I’m usually a bit nervous to eat anything with chicken because I hate overcooked chicken but it was sooo good and cooked perfectly. I like spicy and this place exceeded my expectations on their heat game. If we can’t pick a place to eat The Sandwich Spot is our go-to. If you’re wondering whether or not this is a good choice, go for it. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent sandwiches. Not much more to say than that. When they make a vegetable sandwich that is this good, you know you you’ve found a good sandwich spot.

Nice sandwich that really hit the spot. Its not as good as the Real Italian Deli, but who is? Reasonably priced and well delivered. My only tip would be to stay away from the secret sauce, it’s a palate destroyer and will haunt your tastebuds for at least 24 hours. Thank you.

Great sandwiches! We had a wonderful lunch here this weekend. Service was slow, as they were packed. Definitely worth it for the food. The Dutch crunch bread was delicious. Ordering was a little confusing for newcomers. Their menu has all of these great sandwich specialties. They have cute names, and the descriptions provide a list of the ingredients. I ordered one of the specialty sandwiches, and was asked if I wanted everything on it. I said yes, thinking she meant everything it said that came on it. In fact, when they say everything they mean another set of ingredients… lettuce, mustard, onions, etc. that all was pretty gross mixed with my sandwich. I scraped it off, and it was fine… but beware!

Excellent sandwich. We drove by and did not see the entrance. It was not until we parked and walked up that we saw the entrance on the side street. We got the last table, which is not saying much since there are so few of them. They had a couch, but it would have been too difficult trying to eat a messy sandwich without a table. We split the Thighmaster on sourdough. Marinated chicken, BBQ sauce, Teriyaki, Bomb sauce and we chose Provolone cheese. The sandwich itself was really good. It was warm, and the sauces were oozing out with each bite. The chicken was moist, and the bread was more of a hoagie roll shape. The bread had a bit of ‘crisp’ to it, but not very sourdough like. That said, it was still really good. The tables in the back by the soda machine and the table with straws felt like they were in the way of where people needed to be. People kept walking past these tables to get their supplies. It was a bit awkward. The food was good, but the table locations were not the greatest.

3.5 rounding up. I had high hopes for this place given the Unilocal reviews. While it was quite good, it was mildly disappointing, hence 3.5, but the service and pricing were great, hence rounding up. The dude at the front was super friendly and helped us navigate all the sandwich options — we went for the Sunny and Share(BLT+Avocado) and the Dinah with cheddar, both with Dutch Crunch as recommended. Husband wanted sauces on the side, I wanted mayo. He ended up getting the mayo and I got some mayo on the side. Not a huge deal but whatever. Chips and drinks included! And they have the fun movie theater fountain soda dispenser which is awesome, but the lemonade came out with a little orange fizz on the front end(Fanta?) so fyi if you’re heading in that direction. The sandwiches themselves were fine — the bacon was super thin-cut, but the bread was good and the portions were generous. It may be the Philadelphia Sandwich Snob in me. Enough of the peripherals were great here to elevate it, but the sandwiches themselves didn’t knock my socks off as much as I wanted them to.

I’m not one to grade down extensively for a rude server, nor am I really one to care about bad service, as long as the food is good. But you also expect some sort of behavior from a manager-type. My girlfriend and I walked into this place when we were in Palm Springs. We were looking for a new spot that was somewhat inexpensive. We seemed to find it at The Sandwich Spot. The sandwiches were all around $ 9 and the reviews were off the charts. After being greeted by the lady at the register, I stood there looking at the handwritten menu of about 30 different sandwiches. Then about a minute later, a man comes over to me and says, «Hi, how are you?» in a perfunctory manor. Mostly focused on the menu, I asked him what«bomb sauce» is(one of the ingredients). He didn’t answer me, instead he rudely said in response, «Um, hi, how are you?» He was apparently taken back by the fact that I didn’t acknowledge his question the first time. Maybe he just has a pet peeve of people not answering him. His seemingly good-natured question proved to be merely an act of rote. He wasn’t being hospitable with his question. If he was, he would have also been good-natured when I failed to respond. To be honest, I was a little distracted and didn’t even realize he had verbally addressed me until he began to belittle with his own response. But even if I had heard him and consciously chose not to respond, as a server, you suck it up and swallow your pride. The other two women who worked there were very friendly. They were benevolent and didn’t have the ego of the other guy. But let’s get to the food. Taste-wise, the sandwiches were really good. I got the Thighmaster, and my girlfriend got the Royal Hawaiin – both very tasty. If I had to pick one, I would stick with the Thighmaster unless you don’t like any spiciness. My only quibble would be that there wasn’t quite enough meat on the sandwiches. In fact, a couple of bites I took were of bread only. I do have to applaud this place for not using deli meat. Instead, my chicken was actual chicken. The barbecue sauce used on my sandwich was really tasty, as they mixed it with teriyaki and«bomb sauce». Acquiescently, I asked the same guy what kind of BBQ sauce they used. He looked at me as if I had interrupted his conversation with Barbra Streisand and quietly said«Bullseye.» I asked him to repeat himself and he loudly, more frustratedly said«Bullseye.» I’m not sure if this guy was the manager. I didn’t ask. I must’ve looked like someone that he knew and didn’t like. Nonetheless, I would definitely return to this establishment. It’s the cheapest place Downtown and the food is actually good. Besides, I have a reputation to hold up for bothering this guy.

I like sandwiches. I definitely do not claim to be an expert on sandwiches, but I know when I absolutely enjoy a good sandwich. I’m going to take the hint that they’re huge tennis fans. A few of the sandwiches are named after well-known tennis stars. I’m personally an Andre Agassi fan, in all honesty. But I can’t help but admire this place. I’ll leave it up to you to examine the choices of food. If you’ve had these ingredients before, you can imagine how it already tastes. So I really don’t have to sell you on the food. But I will say that a lot of times, they can run out of certain ingredients towards the end of the day. If you’re picky with your ingredients, let’s hope you don’t throw a hissy fit because of it. Your sandwich will still end up delicious, honey dear. While you wait/eat, they have the Australian Open playing on the TV. That is all.

I drove out from Los Angeles to the Cabazon outlets to do a little shopping. The only thing I could think about was what I am I going to eat when I get there. I suddenly remembered the Sandwich Spot which I had about 6 months earlier on a trip to Palm Springs. Even though it was 25 mins passed our destination I still had to stop in for a sandwich. I went with the #5 The Dinah with pepperjack cheese and dutch crunch. Man it did not disappoint it was so delicious. The texture on that dutch crunch bread is amazing. It has a somewhat crunchy chewy exterior and a kind of underdone interior which I think gives it that chewiness. This bread is so delicious specially when it soaks in all that mustard, mayo, and bomb sauce. I cannot rate this place with anything less than 5 stars, this is my third trip here and every single time its been consistent and delicious. These guys are really making some delicious sandwiches.

ORDERTHIS: the Federer and the Thighmaster First of all, great names. Second of all, the taste is just as great. I got the Federer — turkey, prosciutto, avocado and Swiss cheese on Dutch Crunch bread. It was incredible. It came with mayo, mustard and the secret sauce made up of oil and herb mixture that was garlicky and flavorful. The bread has a hint of sweetness with every crunchy bite of its toasted goodness. This was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. My boyfriend got the Thighmaster — marinated chicken, bbq sauce, teriyaki sauce, bomb sauce and Swiss cheese on sourdough bread. Equally as delicious. The chicken was very tender and juicy. This was very well done. This was by far the best bbq chicken sandwich I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. For me, this is the Palm Springs hotspot. They make better sandwiches than Bill’s Pizza does pizza and they’re listed as one of the top 20 pizzas in the US. So if you’re wondering whether or not to go in, stop and just order already.

When you have 600+ reviews with a 4 ½ star rating, you don’t ask questions, you just go. Don’t worry about what sandwich to get. Look at the creative names, close your eyes and point. Eat whichever one your finger lands on because chances are it will be one tasty sandwich. One thing I’ve learned over the years of finding the perfect sandwich is when an establishment takes the time to come up with a recipe, experiment with ingredients and then ask themselves, «what should we call this one?» and they come up with some ridiculous and creative name for it… you’re in for a treat. Now I want to try every single one to see which one is the best.

After the terrifying white knuckle drive through the mountains between Temecula and Palm Springs(where the only thing to keep you from hurtling off a mountain is a steady hand on the wheel), we were in desperate need of a friendly lunch spot where our heart rate could return to normal. The Unilocal app led us here, and it was a great choice, because I ended up having one of the best sandwichesI had in years. They have a crazy menu here– about 20 «set» sandwiches or whatever you might want. I went for their number 8 called«But It’s A Dry Heat». It ran $ 7.49 and contained Marinated Chicken, Hot Sauce, Bomb Sauce & Pepper Jack Cheese. You can add Mayo, Mustard, Secret Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Onions & Peppers to the basic for no additional charge, and you can order a choice of breads. I was intrigued by something called«Dutch Crunch» bread so I went for that. It had little crunchy things on the top, almost like mini potato chips. My sandwich was stellar starting with the chicken. Tender, juicy, just freaking perfect. The veggies and sauces, combined with the crunchy bread combined for a flavor explosion that was amazing. Thank you Unilocalers for leading me here. And thank you Sandwich Sot for one terrific lunch.

I dropped by the Sandwich Spot for a light, early dinner after a lazy day of poolside lounging. It’s right smack in the middle of downtown Palm Springs, but tucked away from the street, so it’s easy to miss. Once inside, though, the simple and tidy interior is very comfortable. I ordered the«Dreamkiller» sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread, and it was pretty good. The bread and the«bomb sauce» are really what made it. Seemed overpriced for what was essentially a veggie sub, though. There are also cookies for sale if you need to satiate your sweet tooth after chowing down on your sandwich. Definitely important.

**DUTCHCRUNCH, DUTCHCRUNCH, DUTCHCRUNCH, DUTCHCRUNCH** In case you didn’t know, it is all about the DUTCHCRUNCH bread here. AMBIANCE ========= Typical deli place with limited seating indoors and out. Funky mid century flair with chairs and décor. SANDWICH ========= FEDERER — $ 8.49 Hot turkey, prosciutto, avocado and Swiss cheese on Dutch Crunch and with EVERYTHING. Tasted fresh and high quality. Loved the sauces and yeah, the bread. Good sized and texture. RATING: 5⁄5 Staff was friendly. They gave my brother a free soda drink. Everyone loved their sandwiches. Will return for lunch. And that chocolate chip cookie. HIGHLYRECOMMEND for a reasonably-priced lunch in Palm Springs.

The Dutch Crunch bread is delicious! So different and yummy. We tried their one vegetarian sandwich(DreamKiller) which was filled with veggies, avocado, cucumbers, red pepper, and cheese. This was a solid sandwich and tasted great with the dutch crunch. Add some kettle chips and you’re good to go! We also built our own cheese sandwich was good. 4 stars because I wish they had some more fun vegetarian sandwiches on the menu. Service was friendly and relatively quick.
