I highly recommend Dr. Abdallah and his team! From day one, he and the entire staff were very friendly and welcoming. They are also all very knowledgeable and were always there for my husband and I when we needed them, even for the simplest questions. We were very successful in treatment, despite the obstacles I had in reproduction. We are very grateful for Dr. Abdallah and his team and cannot wait to meet our two bundles of Joy! If I had to do it all over again, my husband and I would not think twice to turn to Dr. Abdallah and his team of experts! Thank you for this beautiful miracle! We couldn’t have done it without the Rancho Mirage Fertility Center!

I wrote a previous negative review about Dr. Abdullah, based on my experience with him, and he had it removed from Unilocal!Consider if that’s the doctor you want. The reason given was that it was not detailed enough to validate it as real. I tried to keep it short and sweet, but hey, let me get specific Mr. Abdullah, as you requested: I found, exactly like reviewer Lara K, that Dr. Abdullah was very insensitive, arrogant, and offered no substantive advice or information. He talked down to me as a woman. My husband and I went to see him in his Palm Springs office. When you walk in, the lobby is very large, with lots of empty chairs to the right and reception on the left. Then you go through the door, down the hall and pass his nurse’s office on the right side to his large office at the end of the hall. We sat down and after asking me almost nothing about my medical history, and yet having labs of my husband’s sperm problems, he said, «well, I don’t really care about his sperm, because it’s really all on you and your egg. I only need one sperm from him to get you pregnant, but it’s your aging egg that is the problem». Well, it’s a combo doc and it isn’t helpful to blame the woman for male factor infertility. His wording is just so insensitive and dismissive. Also, while you only need one good sperm to do IVF, we had only been trying to get pregnant a few months and we knew there was a sperm problem, so we weren’t planning to start with invasive and expensive IVF as a first line of defense. He also went on to tell me the success rates for women in each age group, starting with the youngest so it sounded better. But after I told him he could skip that and just tell me the stats on my age group(why would I care about the other age groups than my own?)…he continued to do the same thing as he went on. Also, he said the success rates would be 40% in our age category, yet he’d hadn’t been open long enough to even have his data on the SART to CDC websites that publish results. So did he make this number up out of thin air? The national average is much lower than that and 40% is actually pretty high, so where did he get that number? So we asked about IUI, and he offered no information or opinion about it and told his nurse we’d like to do IUI. We were sort of taken off-guard, as he was the first RE we met with, and sat down with his nurse, who was very nice. Dr. Abdullah prescribed 100mg of Clomid for me, without knowing anything about me or having ever done an ultrasound to assess follicle count or check for cysts.(The clinic I went to instead said 50mg is what most all REs start with to see how the patient responds, rather than over-prescribing and risking hyperstimulation). He also created a protocol that involved me using an HCG trigger for ovulation, which I learned later from my other place is only used for women who don’t ovulate on their own… which I do on my own every month as detectable by OPKs. But of course, he never asked about my cycles. And I have visited other fertility doctors in San Diego and LA, for second and third opinions(thank goodness!) and they all have a professional format of reviewing all patient records, meeting with the nurse, and the the financial person. However this did not happen with Dr. Abdullah. After his minimally informative meeting with us, we did meet with the nurse, but he tried to sign us up without ever offering for us to meet with a financial person. They also don’t give you anything in writing about the cost of treatment, just an offhanded comment or two about general costs. I wanted to love Dr. Abdullah, because he is the only person in our area. But it was so bad, that we ended up driving a long distance to go somewhere else. And BTW, we got pregnant with our first IUI at the other clinic!

The mediocrity of the desert strikes again. The staff is nice enough, but that is where it begins and ends. For the initial exam(and the only time I actually SAW dr. Abdallah) he was aloof, arrogant and uninformative. In his examination he was insensitive to a females body parts, thrusting a wand up me for my ultra sound, without any expanation nor warming that this would be painful. they mis-categorized our tests, which resulted in us receiving a $ 2000+ bill, and — most importantly — kept me in complete darkness as we tried to move forward with an IUI. I had to call multiple times to find out what was happening, what the process was, and when we would do it. I received no call backs, never once spoke to the doctor. The nurse that I did talk to was sweet but uninformed, and when we spoke about specific test results, she had no knowledge of what these results meant. I ended up googling it, and when I did see her, NEVER the doctor, btw, she obviously googled the info too, and told me what I had just learned from wiki, and webmd. Because they are the only clinic here they can suck and still get business. It’s a travesty, and with something as important(and expensive) as fertility, I don’t want a nurse that knows as much as I do heading up my medical treatment. I ended up never getting a call back from anyone, never got an IUI, and am now searching for a place in Los Angeles.

There’s no need to go to LA or OC to find a fertility specialist, Dr. Abdallah and his team are superior and use the most advanced technology. I was very impressed by the doctor and his staff– they are a wonderful team!
