Wonderful staff/excellent food. Love the volcano and seaweed roll. The intimate booths allow you to play footsie since your required to take your shoes off.

Cool atmosphere, great food and I really like the«create your own sushi» option. The tempura is great as well. Enough writing, time for some sake!!!

What a nice family! I have never been to this restaurant before and the new owner introduced himself. We were in search of a new place to eat sushi because the other place we went to was getting a bit stale(not the food, but the attitude). There are some great sushi choices here, and the guys making sushi are very receptive and flexible to different options. They were all very friendly, mom and son were laughing and joking, it was just a very pleasurable experience! We will be back!

It was just OK too much rice and fish was thick and not the best they could have gotten. Service was good

Ichiban! This a great sushi restaurant… probably the best in the area. The sushi rolls specials are worth trying. Great service and good sake. Try the premium sake in the square cup.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! They have Japanese Horigotatsu, meaning the seating arrangements on Japanese tatami floor where they have sunken areas beneath the dining tables for comfortable leg room. Their fish is so fresh and has the best quality in Tampa bay. I love the way Koba-san cuts the fish… so thick! Yes it is on a pricier side but it is well worth it. Their menu doesn’t have many special rolls either, since it is more traditional Japanese sushi style rather than Americanized. Do not forget to order Tuna Tataki… it comes with delicious sauce and a lot of scallion and smelt roe to enrich the flovor. If you like fresh thick cut sashimi… you should definitely check this place out!

Master Sushi Chef. Amazing Sushi. Tataki is specialty. Entire plate with Chef’s sauce vs usual 4 –6 pieces in other places. Get the ½ and ½. You will NOT be disappointed and will not be able to order Tataki elsewhere. Bye Bye Roll and Crazy Roll are favorites. Large and generous portions. ALWAYS fresh. Please and thank you at the bar will get you recognized. Family environment. Be pleasant to all– much older than they look! Worth the LONG drive to get there from TAMPA!!! Call ahead for groups. Be patient… TAKEOUT and Party orders are worth the time!

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times on a recommendation from a friend. The owners are Japanese, so you return the irrashaimase greeting with a konban wa. Some of the rolls like the Koba roll come layered with different sauces so it isn’t really necessary to dip it in soy sauce. I know on one visit I had a roll with tuna, jalapeño, cilantro, and ginger, served with a yellow sauce and a chili sauce. This last time, I ordered some sashimi and I received about 5 or 6 pieces instead of the expected three pieces in a nice little basket presentation. Since I was running late I emailed a friend an order, so I went with an Arizona roll which is usually a sushi restaurant staple. Instead of the expected Yellowtail with scallions on top, their version is yellowtail and avocado, with scallions rolled inside. There was a group of about 6 people on my last visit and it did seem to take a while before our entire group received their order. So go with some patience and good company and you will be rewarded with some great sushi.
