We hade the best time, but they need to shade the kids area, very important for babys and toddlers skin cuz hours available for them are peak hrs! they open at 11am!!! common !!food court is pricy! but I like that they have fresh drinking water for customers! Just shade on kids area and it will be perfect.

was not happy with how they have no price change on the fee when the slides and kids area are closed. what is the main reason for many guest reasons of going. I will not be coming back if these are not open on the days we want to go. two thumbs down not happy with center, no all guest who come are from this area. people vacation out here with kids and they are not all on the same school zone. we ask you to consider this and make the changes we feel need to be made.

Great pool! This place has a selection of pools great for all types of needs. Very inexpensive entry, clean, spacious, nicely laid out, and very friendly staff. Have started taking masters swimming classes and the instructor is great. Highly recommend for a great workout, or for a day with the family(water park and waterslides!).

Palm Desert is a great place in the winter. The summer is sweltering. This is the place to be to get cool during the summer. Kaitlyn deserves all the accolades she has received. The slides and lap pool are always clean.

I was so impressed with this place the first time I went there. The pool is always kept at 82 degrees. They have lap swimming from 5:00 a.m. until 7; 00 p.m. everyday. They have great water exercise programs. They have a wonderful Masters swim program with Ben Hobbits of Triton Swim. The staff is so friendly. The pool is very modern and always kept clean.

This aquatics center is very clean, affordable and the lifeguards are definitely engaged. Snack bar is simple and sufficient. It was our first time here and my kids(6 yrs old) had fun jumping off the 1m &3m diving boards and going down the water slides. This is definitely not a water park but has a few fun features and was not chaotic or crowded. We enjoyed a change of scenery from the pool at our house and we’re happy to have found this place on Unilocal

Went there for a little swim, was fun, the instructors were fine, but I do recommend putting your things on your chair, the swimmer and others can be very rude, but overall a pretty nice place which you can afford, and you definitely can come again!

Affordable, safe and pools for all levels of experience. Even a diving board or two for those thrill seekers and a splash pool with water toy set for the little ones. Lots of comfy grass and a food window that sells ice cones ;)

I initially posted a review on the YMCA Palm Desert(which I now deleted) because I did not know the Aquatic Center is completely separate. At any rate, I met with Ashton the head swimming instructor this morning and let’s just say that was the best lesson I’ve had thus far. Everyone is so nice there and very friendly. Being that I am in my 40s and embarrassingly do not know how to swim but Ashton is simply the best. He made me feel so comfortable and was so patient that I lost my nervousness. He gave me a workout to which I needed it. I will most definitely hire Ashton again as my private swimming instructor. And I highly recommend this location for all your swimming needs.

I really enjoyed myself today. Best part was the price(Pd locals only pay $ 4/adult). We arrived right when they opened(11am) expecting a zoo since it was Labor Day but it wasn’t as packed as I was expecting. There was plenty of room to lay out on a lawn chair and we spent most of our time sun bathing in the kiddy section(we had a 3 ½ yr old with us). There wasn’t a large food selection, however, for a snack bar it was fine. Prices were reasonable. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of supervision by parents. The lifeguards are there to make sure everyone is safe, NOT to babysit your kids. I will definitely return to the aquatic center. I’m glad I moved back to PD

This is good for little kids, below 10 at best, mainly 2 pools. If your looking for excitement save up for the water park down the road. If your looking to just cool off, then good times, stayed a hour, realized this was the«really public cheap pool» and left.

Good place to bring the little to. They have 2 large pools and a tot area in the center. Cheap price to come in and if you are a palm desert resident you get a discounted price. Overall good family place to get out of the heat.

On vacation in rancho mirage and I Unilocaled for kid activities in the desert. Came across the aquatic center. My son had a blast! Went on back to back days and spent 3hrs at the center! He loved it! I couldn’t get him out of the water. Highly recommended for toddlers. The toddler pool is 0−2ft deep! Great place to have fun

The pool is mismanaged and it is a shame. We have lived in Palm Desert for over 7 years and this facility was maintained properly for a number of years but the last two years have been terrible. Most recently their chiller broke down with temps at 111 – 115 degrees but they stayed open charged people and then inside I sign says sorry for the warm pool. Its been over a week and it has still not been fixed. Problems with chlorine levels that had to be brought to their attention when kids eyes were burning. The bottom of the pool is not being cleaned regularly. They claim its cleaned«every day“but we are there every day and see the same hair balls, sand and debris on the bottom of the pool for days. Locker rooms also seemed to be cleaned only once a week. We are at the pool every day and noticed a soggy nasty Dorito chip on the floor it was there for days before it was finally cleaned up. Broken handheld shower heads that have not been replaced are now just a hose end with no head wasting water. The city needs to look into what is going on with this pool’s management we are paying taxes and the city is paying the Y? Are they aware of these problems? I will be calling and emailing now that the complaints we have made are not helping and they have made too excuses for the problems.

Clean facilities, great service at the front, and a great place for training. I am from out of town and needed a place to train. This was a perfect location. So glad I found it. Highly recommended if you need a place to swim and need something local.

Overall it is a very nice facility and the However, lap swim is beyond unpredictable. When they rent out the majority of the large lap pool to visiting teams, the Y doesn’t post updates on their announcement page or on their lap swim page. Yes, they have disclaimer saying the printed schedule is subject to change — but the Y has all the tools available to notify patrons of changes and they neglect to use them, which would greatly improve their relationship with their patrons. When the suggestion was made to use the announcement page, especially when they had rented the pool out to visiting teams for 2 weeks — the response was they were«busy». Overall they do not have sound business policies.

This was a great Unilocal find! We are on vacation with our 4 year old son and we needed to find a better water activity than the place we are staying at. Unilocal brought us here and we have visited twice this week. It’s very clean and lots of lifeguards on duty. They do have a snackbar prices are decent but options are not so healthy. You can bring your own water. My son LOVED everything this place has to offer. I highly recommend you visit this place while here in the desert.

What a great find! For $ 6/adult and $ 3.75 for kids, this place is a gem. We have a pool at the Palm Springs accommodation we are staying but wanted a change so I did a quick google search and found this local YMCA location. We came on a Monday in May. The pool was quiet and not too busy which was so nice. The water is salt water rather than the horrible chlorine so you don’t end up smelling like chemicals all day long. Definitely a good place to bring kids if you’re holidaying in the Palm Springs/Dessert area.

Get ur H2O romp-on here… Youtube video of huge lap pool: ~ First of all, there’s not one but two kiddie pools! ~ Main kiddie pool has 4 small slides and a splash zone. ~ Other kiddie pool is warm(family pool) ~ Tall slides(2). You will climb up about three sets of stairs for this one. There is one open slide and one tube slide(the tube one being my fav). This is a nice feature for those who cannot afford the fancy-pancy waterpark in the area(Knott’s Soak City). ~ Huge lap pool… and this one looks very inviting! This pool also has cool diving boards for you crazies out there. Lifeguard will request that you take an actual swim test on site before you dive in tho! BTW, here’s a pic of my kid doing a cannon ball. Fees for non Palm Desert residents(us): Adults — $ 6 My toddler — $ 3.50 My 10 year — $ 4.50 It was a total of $ 20.25 for the 4 of us — not bad!!! Palm Desert residents go in for even less! PROS: ~ No charge for parking — CHECK!!! ~ Lifeguards that are like hawks ~ C-H-E-C-K ~ There’s a private room w/shower, toilet and a baby changing station ~ nice! ~ It was not that crowded on Memorial Day weekend(Saturday). ~ Palm trees out in the parking lot that provide partial shade from that triple digit BURN. CONS: ~ No float toys or beach balls here. ~ cannot bring your own chairs, but we got lucky and found a shaded area w/4 chairs right in front of the kiddie/family pool, upon arrival. ~ the main kiddie pool(w/the 4 slides in it) could be less cold, even though the weather was a hot 93 when we came here on 5÷25÷13. My daughter preferred the other kiddie pool(family pool) to this one due to the warmer water. To the staff: please make the main kiddie pool as warm as the family pool !!! There was a kiddo who vomited something orange in the kiddie/family pool and they had to evacuate everyone out of the water and clean the pool for 30 minutes because the junk was floating around(ewww). I once vomited in a kiddie pool(ages ago) and I think KARMA found its way back to me that day: P The reason why I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because I don’t live near(it’s more than 45 minutes away). However, I plan to bring my kids here at least once or twice per year… unless something similar opens closer to home. Don’t I wish!
