Pain and Spine Center of the Desert

Dr bouffard is a godsend. He is efficient, smart, and WONDERFUL AT KNEE SHOTS, As soon as I got a knee shot from him, I decided he was excellent. When he left rein harts, I decided to follow him to the pain and spine center. He is efficient and not super touchy freely, but I like that.
I have ehler danlos and it is degenerative and not curable, but he is very casual like each appointment is an oil change. He doesn’t treat me like I’m some pathetic baby. I will stay with him until it’s impossible!
The nurses are great too, especially friendly!

Love DR Bauffard! But today I had a 9 am, first apt of the day. It’s now 9:55a & still waiting for a simple med check. Computer system is down but putting a patient in a room is manuel labor. Don’t think the young man at desk cares for me. (my impression) Frustrating! Will miss my movie time now.

I’d like to point out that Dr Bouffard’s office is open until 5:30 each day, that he leaves an emergency contact phone number and answers it, and that he never rushes you out the door.
Others may not appreciate his manner, but I appreciate being treated like a knowledgeable adult, having someone who respects my choices, and his support of my goals.
Yes, I will agree that he takes his notes in the computer. However, every time I leave I know exactly what is going in my medical record, because he give me a copy before I leave.

Treats patients like they are an inconvenience. Sits in front of his computer and types while you sit there and wait. If you ask him a question he answers while typing without bothering to look at you. I guess his concern is to make sure he documents certain details but the patient get’s lost in the process. You find out what he typed only after you are walked out to the desk to pay your copay and leave. We had to contact insurance to appeal the decline of treatment because the office staff was not paying tracking the approval request. They didn’t bother to tell us the insurance declined their request and we had to find out by calling the insurance. All they ever said was they hadn’t received approval yet. If you only want pain meds this is your doctor. If you want treatment to stop the pain you best find another doctor. Beware.

at first I was a little put off by his demeanor… once you get to know dr. bouffard he is very knowledgeable in his field
