On the 10th hole apparently they haven’t taught their greens keepers not to fire up equipment when golfers are getting ready to hit! No food at the turn! Really

Course was in great shape, greens and tee boxes well maintained. Golf staff customer service is inconsistent. Eperienced some excellent service from one starter, while another would not even look up from his paper when asked a question. The Pro Shop rep who checked us in was surprisingly rude and condescending. Have experienced great service in the past, so this was a real surprise.

Agave Bar and Grill part of the resort complex. Very good food and service. A little pricy but considering it’s a resort, in snow bird season, acceptable. Happy hour 2 to 6 pm all this week. Drink up! Oh, resort has Wi-Fi but it is very slow,

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is the greens were a touch slow and the bunkers weren’t fluffy and it looked like they hadn’t moved the cups in a week or so bit really??? That’s not really a big deal at all. This course, firecliff, is amazing. Great layout, great club house, Amazing staff and well worth the trip. 4−½ hrs to play, perfect conditions, tee boxes were flawless, fairways perfect and all is right with the world here. Go play here now!

My husband I walked in anticipating having a Turkey sandwich and we were told to leave because my husband was wearing a tank and sandals — mind you it was 120 degrees out. Left with a bad taste in our mouths. All we wanted was a sandwich!

This review is more about the golf course than the food. Although, the hot dog at the turn came out with perfect grill marks and they had a nice array of fixins(fresh onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños.) The staff from bag drop to kitchen to pro shop were all friendly and accommodating. This is my second time here and both times everything about the golf course was in absolutely impeccable shape(played a different 18 each time). The courses are unique and challenging in that desert golf rolling hill genre, but not overly tricky to where it’s just stupid. Plenty of tee options too for your preferred course length. The mountain views are gorgeous and abundant with many different angles as you make your way around the links. It was late May so we went out shotgun style at 7:30 to beat the heat(great idea). The shotgun was a collection of different small groups, so I was worried it might be really slow, but the round moved nicely. The practice facility is top notch with a grass range, huge putting green, and chipping area. Arrive early on those shotgun days because it fills up. This is one of my favorite golf resorts(not just in Palm Desert)!

Shame on me for trying again. Friday mid morning 5 hours, really? Marshall came by with mango towel only highlight of day. Greens not in great shape, overall big disappointment

Played Firecliff today. Have played there many times over the last ten years. Sorry to say that the golf course and Desert Willow complex has gone drastically downhill. The overall course condition was poor, and the greens and tee boxes were HORRIBLE. The greens fees are ridiculous. Should not be rated more than two stars. Bill K Handicap 8.5

Just had a perfect lunch at Desert Willow. We sat on the patio in mid 80 degree temperature … Fantastic waiter, great food, and a special judo to the guitarist. His music made the experience

I came in as a single for golf, after having breakfast there with my family, and was rudely asked if my 19 month old daughter(I happened to be holding her when I went to the pro shop) was riding with me. I was dressed well, was prepared to spend $ 185 for golf and was told nothing was available for me until well after any desirable time for the day. On top of that the staff was standoffish, unapologetic and tried to pawn me off on a two bit tee time hotline. News flash desert willow staff, you will learn your lesson and I will be passing the word around. I have a big mouth.

Customer service is lacking in a big way. It’s all about serving whom they see fit. Do not spend your money here if you want to have any sense of appreciation for the high dollar they demand. The golf courses are really nice but the staff could care less if you’re there or not. They cater to their own.

This was the 4th golf course that we’ve played at in the area — and the only one that we did NOT like. Fairway grass was awful, bunker sand inconsistent, and scorecards with such TINY font that you needed to put your reading glasses on. In addition, the GPS screen on the cart had way too many commercials — EVERY single hole we had to touch the screen a couple of times to return to yardage information. No signage to let you know where & when to return to the cart path — the programmed cart simply stops and then crawls until you reach the magic spot where you can resume a normal speed to return to the cart path. I had been looking forward to playing Desert Willow, and was very disappointed with the experience. We won’t be returning.

First off, the staff here is a 10. They do everything they can to make your experience the best possible. The courses are beautiful. The rental clubs are kept up well. The course is well marked, which is nice if you’re a first timer there. I make sure to golf here ad much as I can when I’m in town.

Great course, but the price is stiff. If I were them I would spread out tee times. Played on a Friday at noon in 5 hours having to wait on every hole. Greens could have been in better shape to earn a five star rating. Course layout is impeccable though.

An outstanding track with amazing views and a great design by dr Michael hurdzan. Lush fairways framed by desert flower beds. Great views of the mountains surrounding the area. A par 72 challenging course 74.1÷138. Tons of sand traps and water holes. Excellent pro-shop and staff

Wow what a great course. Came for our annual American Airlines trip a few months back and just got the chance to review. But the course conditions are still well earmarked in my head. Tee box’s — Clean and nicely level Fairways — Well kept and in great condition… made sure I replaced and sanded every divot. Greens — Just punched under a week so had some bumpy putts but it was nice overall. Lovely course with great staff… would come back again.

Perhaps my favorite golf course in the valley. I’ve been coming here since high school. Took quite a few golf lessons here, and the instructors are very personable. The greens are always very well kept. Sometimes you’ll see foxes running around the course. The pro shop has a large variety of clothes for men & women. The restaurant is pretty good too!

Had a fun round last Sunday on the Firecliff course. I’m definitely not a great golfer, so the course was pretty tough for me. The course is very well maintained and the GPS system on the carts is top notch. If you like sand bunkers, this is the place for you — many of the greens are surrounded by bunkers, so you are gonna work mightily for your pars. I enjoyed this course even though I was compelled to burn my scorecard, I would play here again for sure.

A big 5 stars for the course. Everyone knows that the Firecliff is the better of the two, but the Mountain course is nice, too. The place is well-run, and the practice area is excellent. I like to go their there for lunch. They have a tiered patio that looks out at the course, it’s often shaded, and the view is terrific. And while their menu lists interesting and reasonably priced meals, the execution can be off. This time, my Chef Salad was a mostly a pile of cheese chunks, and very little salad. And their wine and beer list is a bit lazy and uninspired. To illustrate: Their drink list includes the heading, «Microbrews». Any IPAs? No. Anything from the great West Coast breweries? No. But they did list Molson!

We played our Palm Desert Open Golf Tournament this weekend at Desert Willows. We played the Mountain View course. The course was exquisite. The staff was friendly and made a proactive effort to ensure our happiness was a priority. The price was about $ 45. I would have paid double that! The course was in tip-top shape. The fairways and flowers were all beautiful. I was very pleased with this course. Best I’ve played in a long time. I appreciated the guy coming around with cold towels. However, I wish they had a place that offered food at the turn. I was hungry with no hot dogs in sight!
