Was referred to Kevin by Mike at Kinetix. What a knowledgeable and genuine man Kevin is. I had a bike fitting session with him and he was amazing with his attention to detail. I was hesitant to review his repair of a creak in my bike until I gave it a good test. Gave it a hard 70 miles and 6000 ft today and not a single squeak. Another LBS tried twice to get rid of the creak but it came right back. I feel confident that Kevin’s fix is a solid one. Thanks Kevin!

Kevin is a godsend! We shipped my bike to town and it arrived with bent chain rings. Tried finding news ones with no luck. Kevin fixed them and tuned up the bike right away. Super knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to work with!

I rented a road bike for one day from Bikeman for the 100 mile 2016 Tour de Palm Springs and could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. Kevin, the proprietor, offered me two choices: a faster all-​carbon bike at $ 75 or more comfortable alloy bike at $ 50. I chose the $ 50 bike because of the bumpy roads in the Palm Springs area and it worked very well. Kevin attached my own pedals and gave me all the time I needed to test the bike and get it fitted. I marked their prices as «pricey» only because you can probably get a cheaper rental in Palm Springs but I don’t think it would be as good. If you are looking for a good quality road bike to put in some serious miles in the Palm Springs area, Bikeman is where you want to go.

After 45 years as an avid adult cyclist I have finally found my ideal bike shop.

Bikeman is an outstanding one-​man bike shop! Kevin is super knowledgeable about all things cycling from cruisers to racing. You can get everything you need from him. If he doesn’t have it, he can order it and have you rolling in no time. He sells a number of brands from KHS to Scott to Pinarello. I buy all my gear from him.

Don’t even think of going anywhere else if you are a serious cyclist. Kevin owns his own business here and can make the calls he likes and trust me it always is a benefit to the client. I was late getting a rental returned and he worked it out with me no problem and no hesitation. He also went out of his way to get me a bike even though he was technically out of rentals. He works on high end bikes here and if I had mine with me I would certainly have him do some fine adjustments as he knows his stuff.

Kevin is the man! Quality equipment, the best bikes, extremely knowledgable, competitive pricing, and very friendly and helpful. Bikeman is where the people who know good service go. Bike fitting, tuning, repairs, and even great training advice, look no further.

After having a new drive train put in at my LBS one week and one crash later my bike developed an annoying creak that I thought might be related to the crash. The LBS did a full crash check but the creak was still there. Took my bike in to Kevin and he fixed it! (It was not related to the crash after all, just high mileage on the bike.) No more embarrassing creak. He was professional and very reasonable. Oh, and he also adjusted my front dérailleur that should not have been an issue after the new crank was installed by the LBS. Looks like my LBS will be relegated to fixing flats and my heavy duty maintenance will be worth the longer drive to go see the Bikeman.

I went in to buy an expensive bike part and the owner convinced me to spend much less on an alternative part. You know an owner cares when he advises someone to spend less.

Cannot say enough good things about Kevin and his Shop. He saw us on short notice and was closing early and waited for us. He not only fixed the flat we came in for, without making a big deal he also gave the Bike a checkup, adjusting the brakes etc at no charge. He is as nice as he is skilled and efficient. It’s great to know we have a place here for Bike repairs.

Was very helpful, looked for a seat post for a cheap bike. Got it here only the pedals i wanted he did not have in stock. But had a recommendation for another shop who had it. (I seldomly get recommendations like this) This is not a bike Boutique with no brainers who don’t know anything about bikes but brand names. So I would recommend it for repairs of older bikes too.

I’m from out of town and this bike shop is as good as it gets. I was very lucky to find this shop. My bike was fixed correctly, in a timely manner and the price was very reasonable.

Kevin was great! He took my old, but good, bike that had been in storage for years and made it brand new for a very reasonable price. He also made some adjustments so the bike is a better fit for the kind of riding I do now.
Kevin listened to all my questions and concerns with great patience. Then, he explained his suggestions for refurbishing the bike so that I could make an informed decision. It was a great experience and the turnaround time was quick.

Kevin was great. My road bike had a creak coming from the bottom bracket so I took it into another LBS and they had me get a full tune up while reviewing the issue. Two days later they called saying the bike was ready. I picked up my bike and went for a ride. Sure enough the noise coming from my bottom bracket was still there. After talking with the bike shop again they claimed nothing was wrong and riding it should be fine.
I decided to get a second opinion and brought it to Kevin «bikeman». Within five minutes he found the issue. The crank was just loose. Its obvious the other bike shop never even touched it.
I then asked about a fitting (it had been two years since my last) and Kevin was thorough. Everything from cleat placement to saddle position. I have been riding every day since and the bike feels amazing!
Thank you Kevin. I am not one to trash a small business because of one negative experience so I have chosen not to list the first LBS name, but the real point of the review is WHY GO ANY WHERE ELSE the bikeman is great!
Service & Affordable

Kevin is the best! He fixed my bike up and is so thorough. Do not go anywhere else, I bought a road bike and took it to Palm Desert Cyclery and they broke the gear shift and told me they would buy it from me for a hundred bucks… I took it from there and found Kevin and it is as good as new and a lot cheaper than they were going to charge.

The service at Bikeman is great! I recently visited the shop to have my wheel repaired after it started to make a weird grinding noise. Not only did Kevin do an outstanding job repairing the rear hub, he even gave me a loaner wheel to borrow so I could keep riding until the work was completed. Needless to say, the overall customer service I experienced was first class.

Kevin has the best bike shop in Palm Desert. It’s not glamorous or blingy. It’s a bike shop.
Go in, get what you need and leave. He can fix your bike, order you things and play you some music.
Great staff. Knowledgable and friendly.
