No idea how Unilocal has this rated at 3 ½ stars! Restaurant is lively. Food is consistently terrific and service is amazing!!!

Nothing cooked to order here. Steaks are pre-marked earlier in the evening and finished in the oven during service. My special«Rossini» had a few flakes of dried truffle sprinkled on top, but not made classically(chef should look up the recipe as it CAN be excellent). Veal cutlet was bland. Starch and veggies are scooped out of a steam table. Sauces were from a box, no roasting bones in this kitchen. Salads are made in batches. Too many shortcuts overall to cut back on cooks on the line $$. Everything is such a banquet production, food came flying out of kitchen… and no folks, that is not good for $ 100 per person with 1 glass of wine each. Service however, was excellent. Our server and his back up were on point all night long. A little«wonky» with his mannerisms, but he was so efficient and friendly, I could not help but love him by the end of the meal. Desserts(all triangles) were presented on a round tray as if you were way back in time, but were actually pretty good. Especially the chocolate-coconut and the berries in cream.

DON’T GO… let me tell you a story. We were seated upstairs in the little dining space to the left where there are two tables for 2 and our table for 4. To the right is another dining room that’s one step down. Our server was fine. Our appetizers were fine. Shortly after our entrees were served, a woman left the other dining room, tripped on the step and fell like a tree just behind me. She must have hit her head on the banister of the staircase on the way down and did a face plant on the floor knocking herself out. Her family/friends were all over her immediately and we were forced to move our seats to get out of their way. We were pinned in place for a half hour as this played out. The Fire Rescue Squad was there in a few minutes. Five of them plus another 5 family/friends made it impossible for us to move or eat… who could eat under these circumstances anyway? One of the other women swooned into the originally fallen woman’s lap so the Rescue people had two patients to handle. When everyone finally got on the way to the hospital, our waiter asked if we wanted the check. I laughed and said«you’ve got to be kidding». He said«I’ll get the manager». Up came Daniel… a snotty young man… who said something like«we served you dinner and the fact that the Fire Rescue Squad got in your way doesn’t mean that we have to take a loss on the dinner we served you». I couldn’t believe it. Not only didn’t he say«can I get you a brandy, it must have been terrible for you… and, of course, there’s no charge for dinner», he was aggressive and defensive at the same time. So…we paid our bill and will never come back.

Finally tried out thus lovely place during their dinner time in December. What I loved most about dining here is the fact that they really deck the place out for Christmas I LOVEIT. Absolutely gorgeous inside, gets fairly loud I should say, but the servers are friendly, hostess could have been better, but that’s okay. We started out with the Blue point oysters as an appetizer, which comes with 4 oysters. Great for couples to try. I thought the oysters were great, and the presentation was superb. I also enjoyed a Chardonnay to accompany my seafood dishes. Finally I ordered the Scottish Salmon, which for the price, came with a lot of food believe it or not… I loved the way my salmon was cooked, and how it tasted. I was actually quite surprised to see it be served with Lentils, which were good but nothing special. One thing to watch out here is this is a great place for drinks — that being said, I did witness a gentleman fall right behind me after one too many… other than that it is a pretty classy spot, but you can come a bit casual as well! I would definitely come back to this spot as well.

We took advantage of a great coupon Chardonnay mailed to us. Order an entrée, and get one for free… up to $ 39…a good deal. Café Chardonnay, is a large beautifully appointed restaurant with very professional wait staff, and superb kitchen. My prawn scampi served on perfectly cooked spaghetti looked picture perfect, however I found it a bit bland. Let me add, that it did not stop me from finishing every bit of it. My wife was underwhelmed with the macadamia crusted snapper. The crust was soggy and detracted from a beautiful piece of fish. That’ll be a good lesson for next time. We also split an order of Oysters Rockefeller, which were perfect. I had one cocktail… we passed on dessert. With our discount the tab was $ 68, pre-tip. The last time we were here, we had wine, appetizer, entrees and desserts with coffees, and the bill per couple was $ 135 pre-tip. Nice place… but not inexpensive.

Food here is great. We went when dinner hours just started and had a great dinner. Our waiter and kind and knowledgable and we just had a splendid time there. We had duck l’orange for entrée and crème brûlée and a tart for dessert and our choice of Malbec was also perfect! I will definitely return.

It is unfortunate that a lovely venue does not have the service or food quality to match. The pricey menu items must pay their rent since it is not spent on creating tasty dishes. Our friendly hostess attempted to get a someone’s attention to seat us but she was ignored, lack of communication and teamwork. It did not take us long to be seated. Waters and menus arrived quickly. We ordered the Lobster and Scallops special and the Roasted Duck a La Orange. Our waiter seemed like he was in a rush whenever he interacted with us. Our waters were filled constantly which was good. The duck was dry and the cabbage were candied and too sweet, not enjoyable. The scallops were undercooked. Lobster done right. The food was sub par, not worthy of their price at all. Quite a disappointment since I’ve had decent meals at this restaurant prior. They should stop considering themselves as «one of the most exquisite restaurants» in the county. The description has not been sustained in reality.

We went there last night for our 17th anniversary. The food was great, the service at the bar and host was great(and polite) but the bus people were the WORST. They merely grunted when they approached the table and did/said nothing when we thanked them for clearing, etc. They even brought my to-go bag that had something spilled on it… The waiter(Jim) was good overall, but, when I asked him for a new to-go bag, you think I’d asked him for a kidney or something. As well, I think it was pretty obvious that they don’t have a great deal of gay clientele that patronizes this establishment. It was pretty clear they weren’t comfortable with us. Considering the prices, you’d think they would be more enlightened.

At this price point there are far better choices in the PGA –Palm Beach area. The salad was ehh. Fresh and all but not perfectly dressed, and the dressing tasteless. The snapper special was OK, but slightly overcooked. The mixed seafood special $ 35’s is bit pricey for 2 scallops+½ a small lobster claw in a bowl of what tasted like a bland corn chowder. Table mates enjoyed the bouillabaisse. Again, at this upper echelon price point more creativity in pastry/desert offerings was anticipated. Chocolate cupcakes ehhh All this was marginally prepared food was amplified by a waiter who apparently hated his job. Service was inattentive and rude.

Been going to this fantastic gem of a restaurant for over 25 years and they’ve been consistently brilliant. The food is always on point while the wine is carefully selected and skillfully suggested. Do yourself a favor when you have a nice dinner or date to plan, choose this place and you’ll never go wrong.

WOW! We went for our 20th anniversary based on a Zagat review and we’re not disappointed. Delicious octopus and calamari appetizer. Amazing New Zeland rack of lamb cooked to perfection and lobster with scallops. Very nice ambiance only thing I noticed was the«grey hair» crowd. Maybe I’m getting old? Nah!

Good but not great. Friends raves about this place. With we went early on a weekday evening. It was quiet except for staff & regulars chatting to the point of distraction. Kudos For a decent wine list but if your name is wine, it better be your game. Beet salad with arugula was good. Crab cake was full of lump crab without too much bread so it was delicious. Rigatoni bolognese was over cooked, mushy & watery. Chocolate pecan pie had sauce to die for bit the pie was nothing to write home about. Some hits. Some misses.

What a HORRIBLE birthday dinner I’ve ever had, our table wasn’t decorated with birthdays confetti like the others and the hostess was sooo unfriendly. We sat at a table by the stairs where we kept on getting bumped into by the servers, busboys(spilling water on the floor) and other guest passing by us because where the table was placed there was only two ways to get around. The atmosphere was so loud and noise, you couldn’t hear the person right next to you. Our server Mike was so not helpful at all, when you asked him a question about the menu/specials about what he would recommend he stood there with a smug annoyed look on his face he was probably thinking(get on with your order people). The food was good I had the: Poached Pears and Almond Crusted Goat Cheese Organic Baby Greens and Champagne vinaigrette…$ 11 Macadamia Crusted Yellowtail Snapper, Coconut basmati rice, tropical fruit salsa, and Orange Beurre Blanc…$ 36 But overall the food was tasty! I waited forever to get my water filled and when I tried to flag Mike down he pretended he didn’t see us and walked back into the kitchen. When it was time for dessert I just wanted to go home. However I’m never going back due to the lack of friendless we got from the server Mike and the hostess

About as good as it gets in the Jupiter Florida area, this was a memorable dining experience for Jan and I as we enjoyed the last night of our mini vacation in the sunshine state. Food, service and ambience over the top and so was the price but who cares when the occasion calls for it. Go dine and enjoy …

Yes, yes, yes and yes. If Café Chardonnay was in St. Louis, I’d be there at least once a week. This place is hands down one of the most wonderful restaurants I’ve ever been to. When we arrived to West Palm Beach from the airport it was already 9:55, so as we passed by I called to see if we could still order. The friendly hostess told us the kitchen was closed, but had me hold on. A few seconds later, she came back on the line and told me to come on in because the kitchen was waiting for us. I can’t remember the last time I had that type of exceptional service and we were so grateful! Service was absolutely flawless and I enjoyed a great glass of chardonnay. Our server also brought us the rest of a bottle of merlot that was going to waste, and it was just as impressive. After scanning the menu(and wanting everything I saw), I decided on the goat cheese & pear salad and the heirloom tomatoes. I don’t know what it was about this combination, but the healthy & fresh ingredients completely hit the spot. The pears were spiced and a little sweet, the goat cheese was tangy, and I was impressed that I loved the tomatoes because I’m usually not that crazy about them. They were deep red & covered with a light coating of vinaigrette with some parmesan cheese on the side. Simple and perfect. My friend had the tandoori chicken and said it was one of the best meals of his life. I can’t sing the praises of Café Chardonnay enough. Enjoy the beautiful interior or grab a seat on the patio that twinkles with lights. It is pricey, yes — but worth every cent.
