My favorite bar in town. Cozy, not overly loud. Great service and good food. A great place to relax and catch up with friends.

The best bar in NJ. Cozy, food is amazing, service is friendly. Great to just relax after work or pregame in the weekends. Every dish here is excellent

They have really good cocktails. Prices are not too expensive as well. I really liked their sweet chicken too. It is $ 18 and the portion is not big but it was still very good. Wanted to order another one but maybe next time, I will order two different order instead of one. The atmosphere is also good. Dark and they light the candle for each table, which sets the mood. Other than their small portion, I was really happy with my visit.

Still one of my top choices of places to drink in the pal park/fort lee area. Nice and casual, great for big groups or drinks and eats for 2. The food is consistently good. I don’t come here particularly because I’m craving their food, but their selection of Korean dishes are great to pair with some shots of Jame-O and pitchers of beers. I recommend their chicken wings, budae jjigae(stew with sausage, spam, noodles, veggies), dduk bok ki — if you want something spicy to munch on -(Korean rice dumpling stir fry) They chill their beer mugs also which I love. Especially when you’re particularly craving ICECOLDBEER on a hot summer night. Early week night evenings, the after work crowd is mostly older peeps. Late night Thurs-Sat/Sun you’ll find it louder and rowdier with younger peeps. Lots of TVs to watch games. They’ve got a «shrine» set up for the Giants(so beware Jets fans! JKJK!!) Super nice about changing channels on TVs if you want and no one else around minds. Décor is basic with dark woods consistently throughout. Dimly lit ambiance. PARKINGTIP: Some parking available in the back but only about 3 – 4 spots so street parking is your best bet. Don’t forget to feed the meters! Bergen cops don’t hesitate to ticket! Always a good choice here for drinks and eats!

The waitress here memorized my order. I don’t come here to drink as often as I come here for their Ddukbokki Gratin. It’s a yummy gooey goodness of dduk, mozzarella cheese, oden, pasta and veggies. It’s my favorite place for ddukbokki! Their spicy grilled sausage in tomato sauce is really good too. Good place for late night meals, drinking with friends or a date. It does get quite loud on weekend nights. They have TVs with the game on too. There’s a button on the table to ring for the waitress, make use of it, because sometimes they space out or when it gets busy they run around frazzled.

Eh, there was only one good thing about this place, and it was the fact that it was a 2 minute drive from my house. Other than that, I don’t really like the environment. It’s pretty dark inside, and usually other places, it’s easier to meet other people but the tables seem pretty segregated here. It’s weird, because it has the same layout as Janbeer in Fort Lee, but at Janbeer or Raku, I feel more welcomed or more familiar with the area or it’s easier to meet people. Other than that, not too bad of a place to go to if you are just looking to privately grab some drinks with your friends.

my go-to neighborhood bar. i just wish it wasn’t always dark in there, but if that’s what you want, you’ll be happy! great, attentive staff. so much cleaner than it used to be. always more than enough popcorn, lemons, soju, beer, chicken, kimchi fried rice, steamed clams. it was the site of my first beer, and when i came back years later, they’d just become so much better. the strong a/c is def a plus in these humid summer months. love the soundtrack that includes kpop oldies. you can watch the game on one of their many TV’s if that’s your thing. limited parking in the back. ppl smoke out back and in front so hold your breath when entering and leaving if you’ve got asthma.

what happened to this place? haven’t been here in forever. went over the weekend and found out they got new menus, new wait staff, new inside décor and new kimchi fried rice! they’ve always played good music tho — and this past saturday was no exception. jyi sometimes plays better music than clubs/lounges i’ve been to. HA! they had a basketball game on(there are a couple TVs for(mainly) sports viewing scattered through the place) wait staff has completely turned over from the last time i went(several months/maybe a year ago?) they changed the container they bring out the 3000cc of beer in — looks amusing but terrible for beer pouring. came to have kimchi fried rice. was very disappointed to find out they had changed the way they make it. it was still ok, but not as delicious as it used to be! :(sadness. chicken wings are always good here(tastes like the ones from restaurant depot). got haemool soojaebi(not so good). also love the popcorn they give. when i asked for more, they said the popcorn machine broke. always loved this place. but after this wknd, might take another few months to return. nothing was terribly wrong, but it just wasn’t what i was expecting either???

Like another Unilocaler said, this is like our CHEERS. We usually go to Ja Yu In on random nights when we have nothing to do or to celebrate something. The food is delicious. My favorite is the Kimchi Fried Rice. The menu is pricey, but it’s not so bad when you can share each plate with a group of friends. It’s a pretty laid back bar with a nice atmosphere. Each table usually keeps to themselves, but there will be nights where you might even run into people you happen to know. It’s in a great location because you can always eat at any of the other delicious Korean restaurants and stop by Ja Yu In to just drink since it’s all walking distance of each other.

2.5−3 stars. Small local bar on the corner that has a few TVs. It was nice that the noise level wasn’t excessively loud considering there were a decent amount of people there. The service wasn’t all that great. I don’t know if it’s because they have a bell that you can buzz if you need something, but they were hard to flag down. We got up and got our own napkins and had to buzz for another pitcher. They give frozen mugs and the beer is served in a frozen pitcher — the one thing I did like. We got 2 pitchers of Coors Light($ 15) and an order of dry food platter(oh jin oh, wasabi peas, banana chips, pistachios, and a few slices of kim). I thought it was pricey for what we got/what it was(~$ 13). They seem to have a decent selection of soju, makoli and hard liquor. I’ll consider giving this place one more try for their food some other day… maybe.

Stoped in here again last night because my friend was craving a good seafood pankake, and this seems to provide the best one around. And i have to admit that it was one of the better seafood pancakes ive eaten. And the only decent food ive had at this place. Normally I wouldn’t mind being here so much, but thats on a weekday when its dead quite and nobody els is there. This time it was Saturday night and i arrived shortly before 8. After we sat down they started blasting trance music and FOBs started to poor in the door. I couldn’t hear a dam thing or make conversation. And there was an obnoxious Korean guy sitting across the bar making ear piercing whistling sounds for no apparent reason(other then the fact that Koreans do not know how to handle there alcohol). I want to like this place since i live so close, but its hard to when the clientele is all fobs and the bar caters to that. hence the horrific beer selection and obnoxious music they play.

This is probably the first time Unilocal has failed on me. The food is terrible but the beer is pretty cheap. We came here because we saw«great food». I ordered the spicy wings and my husband had the tenders. The tenders were frozen store bought tenders and the wings were spicy but very odd flavor. It was more sour than sweet. I didn’t enjoy it. They only gave you 1 menu per table, i thought it was odd. Are we suppose to share? After seeing 2 other guys huddle in to share, we said«OHHHH». The beer selection is terrible, although it was only $ 15 for pitcher of coors. This is a bar with food. So i would have to call it an «OK» bar with bad food.

The food here is GREAT. Try the rotisserie/fried chicken dish. Probably the best chicken i’ve ever had. Their fried chicken wings are amazing as well. And of course their korean food is great. I really don’t think i’ve ever had a bad dish here. A good time, gets packed on the weekends and lots of drinking going on. The service is really great too.

Ja Yu In does have a parking lot in the back. I think Ja Yu In is better than Baden Baden because everyone working at Ja Yu In actually speaks English and never mess up your order. Their korean chicken is good, but their chicken wings along with their hot sauce is fantastic. I’ve even seen NY Giants players and a bunch of celebrities hanging out there~!

Decent Korean chicken and beer. No parking, unless you count street parking. Probably better off going to Baden(up the hill) because they have a better beer selection. Nothing to see here any more.

«sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name…» this cozy little korean izakaya(in korean we call it «sool jib» meaning«alcohol house» how classy) in jersey’s very own k-town is my CHEERS. i have been drinking here since i was about 19(yes, they do card) and it has became my home away from home. with great ownership who stresses building great relationships with the patrons, ja yu in serves the best dishes to pair with your glowing green bottle of soju(aka korean rubbing alcohol). here are some dishes you should get: chicken gizzard — stir-fried to perfection with awesome garlic sesame-oil dipping sauce. rotisserie chicken — juicy, yet crispy. as if koreans were from the south egg drop soup w/masago — perfect chaser after each shot soojaebi — this is a korean dish that i grew up on and ja puts a spicy twist to it. pretty much pieces of flour cooked in a broth. best korean comfort food on the menu after 3 – 5 bottles down the night, you will feel a little loose and feel free to experiment some more. the menu is always improving and updating so always look out for new dishes. *james hyung, if you are reading this. don’t forget i Unilocaled your shop =)*
