Nice people run this place, thank for your great service! Food is good for a bunshik style eatery. Would come back again on a late night hunger run~~

This place has the best tuna kimbop ever. The food in general is mediocre but the tuna kimbop makes up for everything else. The staff are friendly and good with the take out orders as well.

This place easily has the best kimbab around this ktown area. Kimbab is super fresh. sad they don’t have any sausage kimbab(like the old traditional style of kimbab. hehe gotta love my fake meat) Sadly, I came on a Saturday looking forward to getting the lunch special(kimbab and noodle combo for like $ 6-$ 7 bucks) but its only available M-F so I have to go back. maybe today! We ordered: — 1 Cap Kimbab — 1 Beef Kimbab(mine was better… get this one!) — 1 korean traditional noodle«CHanCheGoooksoo”– this was bland. super bland. dont recommend. — 1 Kimchi Udon… — his was better. very flavorful. I mean they are called CAPUDON. so they are known for their UDON. lol Nothing tasted like MSG! broths were very clean tasting. not a bunch of junk added in. Service was great. bad at first because the workers were understaffed and every table was filled. but they made up for it in the end. Truly feel the mom and pop feel of this place. Gotta love that. Ask for extra pickled jalapeño ! such a good contrast of flavors and textures with your kimbab.

This place is a solid 3.5 stars. It’s a bunshik /lunch cafeteria — type place. Bright, small tables, you eat and go. Pros: Their kimbap is probably the best or among the best in Pal park, which is pretty high praise, in my opinion. Lots of filling, minimal rice. Flavorful. Not cheap, but not expensive. Cons: Their ramen and udon. I mean, I am not expecting japanese style ramen with a broth that’s been cooking for days, but c’mon, it literally tastes like a shin-ramen straight out of the package. I really think I make a better ramen at home. You can easily make a better soup broth base with some beef or pork bones, mushrooms, etc, with minimal effort, add fresh veggies, etc. Add some braised 3-layer bacon or short-rib, and you would have a solid menu item! I’m not asking for some handmade, pulled noodles(although that would be awesome), just a little more effort with the soup, please.

I ordered a to go of udon and korean style kimbab(I am glad more and more people call it kimbab, not sushi. It means a sort of california roll with vegies in and rolled with seeweed). It didn’t taste bad, but it wasn’t much better than what I can make out of instant udon from a korean market. kimbab wasn’t bad. I would say it is not a bad option for a quick fix.

This place seems to be the old matron of all the bunshik places in Pal Park. Other places have come and gone but Cap Udon is always there. Been there many times over the years and it’s always been a reliable option. I’ve had the bibimbap, various gimbap, ramen, udon, tonkatsu, jaeyuk bokkum and labokki and it’s always been solid. The service is extremely friendly and they more often than not offer us a free kid’s gimbap for my young toddlers.

Really good gimbap here! Pleasant service. We had gimbap orders of cheese, beef, and japgok. The latter was mixed grains instead of plain white rice and was my fave. Also had a ddukbokki combo which was nice and spicy, but maybe a touch sweet. It seems weird to rate basic comfort food like this with four stars, but it was really satisfying.

I was recently treated to dinner here, and while in my opinion this restaurant is not as great as some of the other Korean places in Pal Park, its certainly a solid choice. The competition in this area is just so high! I tried their Bulgogi, which was a little dry, but they packed on so many vegetables which imparted a great flavor to the meat. We also had a new experimental soup which wasn’t formally on the menu, the Fish & Kimchi Stew. I enjoyed that dish as well. I normally don’t care for sardines, but this was very tasty. There were some interesting items on their menu which I wouldn’t mind coming back to try. The one that stands out in my memory is the Cheese Ramen.

This place has been around forever amid the constantly changing landscape of Broad Ave. Cap Noodle is a no-frills restaurant providing comfort food at very reasonable prices. These qualities alone are often good enough for a quick lunch. The variety of kimbap is great, the udon is solid. Come here for cheap eats, but don’t expect your life to be changed.

Small little place with delicious food. Probably one of the best gimbaps I ever had. Noodles were in a nice clean and simple broth that was amazing. Staff is very nice and helpful.

My favorite place to eat in Pal Park! The food is always phenomenal. The price is very low for the quality and great service. The kimbap and cheese ramen are verrrry tasty. Friendly staff. No complaints here.

Meh. The udon was really bland. The ddukbokki was just okay. The soup didn’t really have that much flavor either. They even charged us something extra by accident, but like if we hadn’t caught it, it would’ve been like $ 10 more… sigh. Ahjumma was nice enough though.

I was told that this place is one of the older spots in Pal Park, and i can see why. Good food at cheap prices. When you are seated they give you a ticket to fill out of what you want to order. They also serve cold boricha(barley tea). I’m not sure if they give that to everyone or just Koreans. Anyway, I was able to try the Cheese Ramen, Gogi(beef) kimbap, and the tuna kimbap. They also give you complimentary soup to warm your stomach and tease your stomach. The kimbaps are very fresh tasting, and the pieces are HUGE. Seriously, you can eat 1 order as a meal and be full for a good while. The beef itself looked a bit funky. At 1st, i couldn’t tell if it was bulgogi or what until i bit into it. The kimbap had a nice nutty flavor from the sesame oil, and you have the crunch of the veggies. The gogi is lacking in flavor, but i admit they give you a lot of it. The tuna kimbap is just mayo’d tunafish kimbap. It’s also very good. It def has more flavor than the gogi one. The cheese ramen pretty much tasted like Shin Ramen with a piece of American cheese melted in. …1 slice of american cheese. I mean it wasn’t bad, but I could have made this at home… if i wanted cheese in my ramen. I’m not a big fan of doing this, but i do admit it cuts the spice of the broth if you’re not really into spicy food. Overall, the food is abundant and cheap. Good quality, and I’m pretty sure this place will stick around for many more years to come.

A nice noodle shop in Koreantown. «Koreantown»(not sure if anyone else other than my friends and I call it this name) is a must stop for me and my friends and colleagues whenever we are on the roads and are passing through NY/NJ. We stopped here on a Friday afternoon on our way to Delaware(where I reviewed a Jaimaican restaurant and a grocery store). Very friendly staff and the price for lunch was just right. We got some Korean sushi rolls(with beef, pickled radish, carrots, cucumbers, etc.) and a very flavorful cold soba noodles. The Soba noodles was very different since neither myself nor my friend had ever had cold Soba noodles. The broth/sauce was very light and full of sweet soy flavor. The only drawback is that the portions are small for me and my friend, we are both large. We are please to have found this place. Will certainly come back next time.

In high competition with seemingly identical Korean restaurants nearby, I enjoyed one thing very much from here: their kimbap! I believe I ordered lunch, which is a choice in noodle and kimbap. I chose ramen. It was the standard Korean ramen you’d expect(instant noodle with spicy broth), done correctly. The standout and the reason for writing this review, however, is for their kimbap. It was amazingly fresh with the perfect amount of ingredients. No crusty rice or cold filling. I’m not sure if we were lucky or they make it fresh on order, but it was surprisingly yummy and memorable.

My wife and I decided to check out Cap Udon in Pal park. I used to order from here when I lived with my parents years ago. We’d usually get the odeng and kimbap so we ordered the usual for take-out. The everything kimbap was pulled out of the mini-fridge(I wonder when that was made) The odeng was really mushy like it was really old. I know odeng’s supposed to be soft but not this soft. My suspicions were confirmed the next morning… DIARRHEA! There are other way better bookshik places on broad ave like school zone and ddoddowah. Go there instead!

A ma & pa place w/simple food(well, except for the cheese Ramen). PRO: 1) Good straightforward Korean food. Nothing fancy. Friend rice is great and so is the kimbap rolls(bulgoki rolls are the best). 2) Ramens are good but ramen with cheese??? Crazy! 3) Small but clean place. Staff(looks like family members) are attentive. CONS: Nothing really, unless you consider the simplicity of the menu as something negative. There are clearly better places w/a more extensive menu, but of course, you’re paying much more too.

Came here for lunch and thought the place was just ok. Their kimbap rolls were decent and we also got an order of the fried dumplings that were made with chives and rice noddles inside. It was pretty good but the skin was way too thin and kept on breaking and leaked the fillings. Their menu was just a checklist with no pictures. the place was small and simple with tables. Nothing fancy. There are many other better places for lunch at Pal park area.
