I like the vibe of this place — friendly and small town. You get your coffee and pastry served on locally made pottery. There is a sunny front room with tables and chairs where you can enjoy your morning kaffeeklatch with friends or a book. The breads are good, but the pastries are better. And you can see them all being made in the back!

This is the best bakery around! The pastries are as beautiful as they are delicious. Everything is made fresh, very often with local ingredients. The cakes are better than any cake you will ever eat. And the atmosphere is cozy and sweet with a wonderful local flair. Go there – you won’t be sorry!

I’d rate this the best bakery in Mesa County. Not only do they have truly original, fantastically delicious, fresh-made baked goods using local product, but Slice of Life is hands down the most reasonably-priced bakery in the area as well. We routinely oder the Mexican Mocha cake for my birthday, but have to order it a month early and freeze it because Slice of Life closes from Jan-March and my birthday is in January. But it’s well worth doing to get a real, down-to-earth cake made by someone who really cares about using the best ingredients and turning our products with a truly home-made taste.

This is a great bakery. Our B & B host served us french toast from cinnamon bread that she bought at this bakery. Scrumptious! So we went there for lunch and got some really nice sandwiches, in addition to that, their shamrock cookies and bread pudding was also very good. This bakery is reasonably priced and I do recommend it to out of towners.

This place makes the most delicious granola I’ve ever tasted. And I eat waaay too much granola. Called«Premola,» it is a wonderful mix of dates, walnuts, and other fruits and nuts. My parents mailed me a bag for Christmas because it’s just htat good. This place smells sublime and the staf is always very friendly. They also have single-serve french presses so you can sit and press your own cup of coffee.

They make ice cream sandwiches with delicious home made cookies and great ice cream, and they are heavenly. You can get everything you need here for a a great breakfast or lunch, and the prices are very reasonable. Seating is limited, but that’s usually not a problem.

While making a long road trip from Nashville to Las Vegas, we got hungry around Clifton, CO. When we looked on Unilocal to find a place to eat off the 70, I saw great reviews for Palisade Café, so we decided to stop there. When we got there it was still closed because it was a little early, but there was this bakery right next store … Slice O’ life bakery, so we went there. I have never been in a better bakery in my life. The cookies, dessert bars, pastries, were absolutely to die for! We ended up buying a box of assorted goodies to accompany us the rest of the way to Las Vegas. I think my favorite was the peanut butter bar, but there was a cheesecake type confection that didn’t make it too far down the road. The prices were so low it defied belief(I am from Los Angeles, so they may not be low to folks not used to high prices) each item averaging around two dollars. I swear I would consider going all the way to Palisade CO just to go back to that bakery!

Great fruitcake. I used to order it for my father back when the bakery had a website.

Small-town life is sweet at this small bakery in the center of town. The display case offers many treats incorporating locally grown fruits and vegetables, for instance, peach cinnamon rolls and carrot bread. The staff seems friendly, and cozy tables look out on the street if you care to relax and watch life go by.
