Decarlo’s Hair Design

I love Decarlo’s! I have been coming here for over 10 years & will only come here for my color/​cuts. Julie has mastered the perfect color blonde for me & is great in working with you to achieve the exact look you’re seeking.
All of the women here are excellent at what they do, very friendly, and very accommodating with appointment scheduling.
The salon itself is beautiful, very clean, bright, and inviting as well — which is great environment to be in while you’re relaxing in the chair waiting for your color to process. (Added bonus: there is a Starbucks next door if you like to sip on a latte while you’re getting your hair done).
One time, I (regrettably) strayed to a different salon with the allure of a free color job through a mutual friend (warning: if it sounds too good to be true, it is!!) & they turned my hair 2010 Lady Gaga yellow… It was terrible and it completely destroyed my hair from the amount of bleach they used.
Of course I came running back to Julie for damage control (literally) and she had her work cut out for her. Not only did she restore my color beautifully, but over the years she has been helping me get my hair back to a healthier state post Gaga-​incident, and it now feels great.
Decarlos also carries a variety of nice products like the Milkshake line which I love & it smells amazing — this line has been a great help with strengthening my hair as well.
All in all it’s safe to say, I will never stray away from Decarlos — they’re the best!

My Mom started coming here about 10 years ago and brought me with her one day because I was in need of a real stylist to cut my hair– my horribly curly hair! I remember Dawne giving suggestions as to what she would do and we made me an appointment for a future date. Ever since then, Dawne has been my #1 choice for hair cuts and colors. She did my hair for junior prom, senior prom, and a friend’s recent wedding. Every up-​do has been gorgeous and people always compliment me on my hair. I usually do something a little different every time I go in for a cut and color and every time I come out with fabulous hair! If there’s ever something I didn’t like about the previous cut or color, Dawne listens and fixes it the next time I come in. I’ve had people stop me in stores and ask where I get my hair done because she does such a great job with my cut & color! I’ve also had my hair cut and colored by Shannon and she does a great job too! Actually I think all the stylists at the salon do great work!
I live in Chicago and have been happily driving out to Palatine for 10 years to get my hair done by Dawne. Updos, cuts, colors– she does it all and does a great job! I recommend this salon to all my friends and if you have to wait for an appointment, it’s definitely worth it!

I’ve been a loyal customer of DeCarlo’s for many years. Carla has cut, colored and highlighted my hair and I’ve always been very happy with the results. She’s cut my kids’ hair and done my daughter’s hair for homecomings and proms. It is such a friendly place. I’ve run into many friends there and I live in Arlington Heights. I originally went there on a referral from a friend who’s hair always looked good — and I’ve referred many people over the years who are now regulars at this salon. I find their prices reasonable compared to other salons in the area. Give it a try — I think you’ll like it.

My mom took me here for my first ever haircut and I kept coming back for the next 20 years. By my assessment about 85% of the clients are female, but the stylists definitely know what they are doing with male hair too. I almost always go to Caroline, but I have had success with other stylists there.
I highly recommend Decarlo’s for anyone looking for a haircut in Palatine.
