Cutting Edge Landscaping

Last fall, we had our patio done. This led to a redo of our landscaping. This year, we wanted more landscaping for our yard. The front and back yards are beautiful. They were at our house the same week of the estimation. I am writing this review now from our «new backyard» and amazed at what an oasis they provided.

I wouldn’t recommend their landscaping service either. Our brick work had to be re-​done. Chose to pay another company just so I didnt have to deal with these people. Many other issues also.

We’ve recently left Cutting Edge as our snow plow/​removal service.
We had signed on with them for plowing 2 properties.
Our experience was that they were sporadic in getting to both places in a timely manner. In addition, we found a half hearted effort done on our 2^nd property. Sidewalks were not plowed, the driveway was only partially plowed, and yet we were being billed for a full job.
We had planned on using Cutting Edge through the end of the snow season here, and then looking for another contractor for next winter.
Then the last straw:
Under the guise of the most recent snow fall we were billed for nine, yes, 9 removals!
More egregious was the fact that when we called the office for clarification no one picked up.
We received a voicemail back stating that the bill was what it was and that they would stop plowing if they did not receive payment.
We called again to try to get a person to explain how, while a record, 22″ of snow would require 9 visits to remove. Again we received voicemail.
Again we received a call-​back that the invoice was accurate and that it was due upon receipt and that no plowing would take place until it was paid.
On the fourth try, we finally spoke with the owner.
He was rude, derogatory and completely lacking in all customer service.
A quick poll of other clients leads me to believe that this is standard operating procedure for the owner, George, and that his lack of customer service and reprehensible behavior and attitude has gotten worse due to personal problems.
The only recommendation I can make regarding Cutting Edge Landscaping in Palatine is that you stay away.
