Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar

This one of the better members of the chain. The service here is usually top notch, and the food is up to what you should expect — some of the items actually stand out — like the Tequila Lime Chicken and some of the salads. Unfortunately, this location was announced recently as one that was up for closure by the franchise group that declared Chapter 11, so be sure to check with them before you make firm plans to to go unless you have a backup.

Out of state friend laid a gift card on us. Okay, my daughter loved it. And the grilled chicken was remarkably good. The chocolate mousse in the Oreo shooter was actually very nice. Everything else was what you’d expect. The fish and chips batter was tough, chewy and flavorless but the fish was nice. Fries were unremarkable. I thought my son’s grilled cheese was made with orange melted plastic wrap, not cheese. The server spent so long at the station that we wondered if he was working on a new level in Mario Bros. Food for republicans.

I came here only because it was late on a Sunday and my friend and I were hungry. We tried both Durty Nellie’s and Emmett’s first, but both had stopped serving food.
Applebee’s is just a typical chain and this place is no exception. I felt like this location was a little bit more rundown than other locations I had been to. We ordered the appetizer sampler to split and it was good but nothing spectacular.
I also ordered a sangria and when I got carded the girl notified me that the manager had to check my ID as well since I was under 30. I thought that was pretty hardcore considering I am 26 and my ID looks exactly like me. The manager never came over and I got my sangria… I just thought that was weird.
I wouldn’t return unless it was once again my only option.

Came here last night to celebrate my son’s graduation. All the tables had these little cards advertising ½ off appetizers after 9p. Our waiter, Andy, said that he’d have to «check with his manager» to see if it would be honored. I asked him why he would need to check to see if a promo would be honored??? He said that because it was «really busy». ummm– the restaurant wasn’t even half fool. When he saw that i wasn’t backing down, he came back & said the promo would be honored. He then seemed very annoyed because I told him not to put in our order yet because we were waiting on 2 other guests. My guests come, and he expected them to order within 2 mins after they sat down! I had to tell him to come back in 5 mins. So now he brings our our food… No napkins. no silverware. Had to ask some random waiter to bring some out. Food was nothing special. Andy never came back to check on us to see if we needed refills or dessert. Just bad service, period.

Applebees is Applebees. This last time, I ordered one of their under 550 calorie meals. It was actually quite tasty! I also had the apple sangria, again very enjoyable. My mother had the riblet basket. It was TERRIBLE. Luckily, the management here is super nice and my parents happen to eat there all the time so they gladly took the riblets off of the bill. However, it just seems like the food is hit or miss. Drinks are standard and the staff is very nice. It’s just an average place.

Good for typical American cuisine because of the lack of good local choices in chains. If you’re looking for simple BBQ and fried items while drinking alcohol and watching a game it’s pretty good. A bit inconsistent on items which require a higher level of complexity but you really don’t expect gourmet food at this price. Nice place to go on weekends, unless they’re really busy.
