Well, hubby and I decided to do 3 more days of camping before he has to go back to work on Oct 1st(as he’s been on vacation for 3 weeks) We had never stayed at a TT before and with all the hype about paying a yearly fee(499 $) I was expecting a TOTALLY different experience. BUT, we did go in SIGHTUNSEEN!(we were there M-TH) Now, before I go on, let me say that we will go back, because of the closeness to our home and the fact that we like rural surroundings. We were greeted at the gate by a nice gentleman, didn’t get a name, we were given a map and told anywhere you want!(there are 500+ sites) SOOO, we start to drive around, what the heck, that one looks nice, no– that one, no– wait, that one! Well, we finally found our spot. Some sun, some shade, under a nice big tree, big space beside us where no one would park, and on the other side, no one either! private, yeah! I was under the impression they had cable, they do not. Bring movies if you like to watch TV. Luckily for us I bought a couple of movies before we left at Walmart! We set up our trailer, get everything where we want it, settle down with a beer and then«What the hell!(bombarded with flies!) not alot but little ones on my feet, hubby’s ears etc. We deal with it by spraying«OFF» and«CUTTER». Seems to work(for awhile) Campers across the way says it’s that time of year. OK, we deal. They have a nice lodge area. You can get WIFI(at the lodge) and if you have Verizon, you can get phone service. We had no service, which was fine! They have a big screen TV, games, books, ping pong tables outside, etc. Also they have a little store which we were not able to visit as they closed for«inventory»! It would have been nice to have that store open. We ran out of vino and would have liked it better to stay and buy there then have to go out to Paicines to buy. When we camp rural, we like to stay put. The pool was nice in the hot afternoon.(this is the family pool, but as it was a slow time we had the area to ourselves) NOW, there is an «ADULT» area which we did not see coming in, but we did take a drive there, mostly tents with some hookups, mostly grass pads. Pool and a hot tub. Let me tell you, with all of the money they get, they can at least reglaze(or build a new one) it was in such bad shape I did not want to go in. And I LOVE hot tubs. This place could use some TLC, but all in all, not bad… We met some great people, hubby played in a horseshoe tourney! The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. OH, the bathrooms we used were clean, no probs there. Hubby saw a bobcat, heard coyotes, saw dear and partridge, woodpeckers. Crickets at night were a welcome sound. If you ever camped at San Antonio lake, you will like it here, just no lake!
