Pete is an excellent photographer and an excellent guy! Since we started emailing back and forth from the mainland, we could already tell we were going to have a good experience.
Being a local Maui’ian who is involved in various community projects, he has a great selection of local scenes to shoot at from lush rainforest to desolate looking volcanic coastline. We found it tough to choose a place for our wedding shots!
His daughter was super sweet and it’s great to see her adopting Peter’s true passion for photography.
Everything was edited and sent to us in a timely fashion, and we were stoked with how it all turned out.
I would very much recommend Peter if you’re into candid photographs that capture the natural joy that is present at any event on this beautiful island.

Peter Swanzy was our wedding photographer in Maui — and he’s awesome!
He’s so laid-​back and talented, and I really liked his style of photography (not too portrait-​posy or formal — it’s Hawaii!). Because we planned a destination wedding, the first time we met Peter was just a few days before the wedding, so we communicated a lot via email before meeting. He was just so genuine, especially compared to other photographers I had contacted in the area. Really easy to communicate with, and very knowledgeable about photographing in Maui, yet understanding of what we wanted.
He met with us not only before the wedding — stopping by one of our welcome parties to met everyone, but even after — for another quicker photog session in a beautiful forested area and beach! He never made us feel rushed or stressed, and that hugely stands out for us, because that’s one of the reasons why we chose to have a destination wedding. I’d highly highly — extra highly, recommend Peter for anyone looking for a photographer in the Maui area. He’s such a talent!

We did a family portrait session with Peter and he was great! We had our (almost) 1 year old with us and he was so patient, letting us take breaks when needed to get her back in a good mood or feed her or just rest. His pictures came out absolutely amazing and our family keeps asking us for copies of the pictures. Beforehand, Peter was very responsive with e-​mails and had great suggestions for location. He is someone who goes above and beyond for you without thinking twice and we highly recommend him for a session. Thank you Peter for an amazing time and the wonderful pictures!!!

Deciding last minute that we wanted a photographer for our Maui elopement, I did a quick search and a fellow Unilocaler actually suggested Peter Swanzy. I emailed him immediately and he responded within hours with a quote and all pertinent information.
After looking at his portfolio and speaking via email I had a good feeling about Peter and decided to book him.
When we arrived at our scheduled meeting time, Peter and his daughter were already set up and scouting possible photo shots. He was incredibly sweet and very approachable. He put my fella and I at ease right away and made the entire process enjoyable.
I highly recommend Peter to anyone. He was professional, yet laid back and sharing our special day with he and his daughter made it that much more special.
