I was very impressed with how Anita, the store owner, and Cliff, the store manager, handled the situation. Right after the my negative review, they both contacted me to get the details of what happened and assured me that it would never happen again. I completely understand in any business mistakes happen, but we were surprised by how the staff seemed uncaring about their mistakes. Well, the management of the store felt very different and showed it through their actions. I am considering giving this place another chance and am grateful for how Anita and Cliff heard our concerns and followed up with us. Thank you so much.

I went in with a slow leak in a brand new tire. Filled it with a bicycle pump and drove 10 miles to Lex Brodie’s. I got a call over 2 hours later(though they said 45 minutes) that the tire could not be fixed because it was side wall damage. They assured me a new matching tire could be put on for $ 234. Well I picked up the vehicle added a can of fix a flat and it’s been fine since. I cannot believe that a «reputable» tire company doesn’t know how to patch a tire. This is not service, it’s fraud, not cool. Watch out, especially if you’re female!

I can only speak to my experience with their customer service and oil changing skills as I haven’t had any major work done. Their customer service is amazing, so incredibly nice and easy to work with. And their oil changes have been efficient and thorough, they always go over any issues they noticed during the oil change. I will for sure keep returning!

Con artists plain and simple. Waited an hour for a 5 minute, $ 20 plug on a tire with a small screw in it, on the treads where it was completely patchable. These tires have more than a year of wear left in them, as Nissan, who sold me the car tested them last month even though they would have loved to sell me a new set too. I was told they would not repair it and that I should be replacing all 4 tires. Total and complete non-sense. I’m not an idiot. I’ve actually gotten a set of wheels and tires from them in the past. Never again. This is the one business I wish the lava had actually destroyed. Truly horrible people. Anita your response is a bold faced LIE! Talk about no Aloha and hate. You and your employees are hateful, dishonest and should be in prison. By the looks of your employees most of them clearly have been. I took it to another service station. Fixed in 10 minutes for half the price and they said your company is notorious for doing this. They are not even a competitor as they do not sell tires. Not a single one of these tires was worn down as you indicated. You were not there, you did not see them, and you are making this up! In fact I still have the paperwork from Nissan last month that shows wear levels that they measured on all my tires. They have 20,000 miles or more of use left in them. Nissan could have made money trying to scam me and sell me new tires. I am not a moron and I know how to measure tire wear. When I posted my experience on Facebook I had dozens of friends immediately respond in agreement that your company is known for ripping people off. Nice try. You have slandered me and called me a liar in your response. It’s time to consult my attorney.

Took me almost a month to get my safety sticker because they were out of ink to print one. Got a quote from them years ago that was outrageous so never went back until safety check thing. My partner swore by them until he took our beater in for something and they fixed several things without clearance and had gone up in hourly mechanis rate by $ 40 more than the going rate. So they lost his loyalty too.

Open Saturdays! Very convenient for those working during the week. I’ve used several of their services and really can’t complain. Friendly service with good suggestions, as another reviewer mentioned the people working here don’t seem to be trying to sell you something, but rather offer up affordable alternatives. I enjoy coming here for my vehicle needs and the location is great if you’re living in the Puna area and don’t feel like driving all the way to Hilo. Also, now that Pahoa has more little shops in this area you can spend some time browsing the shops or grabbing a bite to eat while you wait.

Customer DIS-service. Living in Pahoa, out of convenience I went to get my safety check at LB’s but they wouldn’t pass me unless I bought $ 300 worth of their tires. My boyfriend assured me the tires were fine but I had a million things going on and I just decided to bite the bullet and get ‘er done to save time. I got the tires(they said it would take 45mins to put them on but took 2.5 hours) & temporary safety from them, went to the DMV and got new registration, returned to LB to get my full, not temporary safety. They looked over my paperwork, scribbled something on it, said it was pau and I was good to go. Except I got pulled over by a cop over a month later and no, in fact, they had not given me a valid one year safety check — even though they said they did and I paid them for it and went through a lot of time and money to have them do it. When I went in to straighten it out(this is now like the 6th time I’ve had to go in there during this whole ordeal) they say, «ho, this is just one temporary safety.» No shit. I explain the whole thing, they don’t believe me and then tell me I have to get a whole NEW safety check from them. No thank you, I’ll take my business elsewhere. I heard from a mechanic who services folks from his home(but doesn’t do safties) that he hears all the time of people having similar kinds of problems with LB. Drive into Hilo or go to someone you trust.
