Hillside Inn

Only giving one star! We got there on a Friday and the man at the front desk was a jerk completely rude! The breakfast gave my family a really bad stomach issue! We were there two nights and the people were just not friendly! Other than that the rooms were not to bad but the bathrooms were peeling in the tub and the shower head was gross and corroded! Will not stay again!!!

Absolute best value. An older hotel but very clean and great location, about 2 – 3 miles from central Pagosa Springs. The hotel and rooms were very clean and everything worked fine (we had a whirlpool tub in our room). Wi-​Fi worked great. The price for this hotel is awesome for what you get. We paid the same price for a weekday and a weekend, all rooms have satellite TV with ALL premium channels (HBO, Cinnemax, Stars, ect.), there’s an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi (we stayed in January), and your stay includes a buffet style breakfast (eggs, biscuits and gravy, toast, bagels, cereal, sausage, waffles, coffee/​milk/​juice) every morning.

First floor king room. We are mobility impaired so have the handicapped room that means hold on bars in the shower. Great when drunk also. Room is excellent. Tv has limited channels and wifi is functional. Nearby restaurants gas etc. (maybe at same time).
Floor in bathroom and tub VERY slippery. Careful.
Pool quite chilly. Hot tub ok not too warm but odd odor. The pool area shows wear and rust and other issues but is ok. Breakfast is served in AM and I will add that later.
Room is large clean and reasonable.
Ok now for breakfast. A pleasant surprise. The area is small but well stocked. Hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Usual carbs and fruit. Yogurt waffles tea coffee juice. Pretty good!

Not sure why people give this place bad ratings. It’s not the most luxurious hotel like those around the springs, but at the same time, it’s not costing over $ 300 a night. For the price, I thought it was nice and the breakfast was good. The staff was super friendly to me as well.

I am sorry that I am giving you one star. I wasn’t expecting too much since I’m not paying high price but my experience here was not so good.
Room wasn’t ready when we arrived and when it was ready, keys didn’t work. We returned to front desk and the guy was confused. Finally get new keys, went in to the room, it was full of boxes. Then return to the front desk and got OTHER keys and the room wasn’t ready… So we have to wait for a while.
We needed to use Wi-​Fi to do business & school work but it didn’t work. I called front desk but they didn’t know what’s going on and told me their Wi-​Fi is working fine and I have to keep trying so I had to wait. Next morning, it still didn’t work. Called front desk again and they told me that maintenance is working on it but they don’t know how long it takes. Really really sucks!!!
I think they are unprofessional to do hotel business and need to improve. I don’t think we are coming back here again…

The hotel is very outdated and in need of repairs. Staff was nice. It was quiet but the bed was so uncomfortable that it was a very bad nights sleep. Woke up every two hours and in the morning with body aches and pains. Breakfast has good variety, but is luke warm not hot. Sat in the hot tub in the morning to try to work out aches from the bed, hot tub and pool water seemed clean, high chemical smell and hot tub floor in need of cleaning or repair. I will not stay at this hotel again. I will roll the dice at another cheap price hotel in hopes of a good night sleep.

This is a good place to stay for the price. Clean room. Everything works well. Friendly staff.

I gave this two stars but it could have been one. I gave it two because it was cheep. The inn really needs a major remodel everything is old and worn. The bed was soft and bumpy. The bath tub was one of those plastic enclosure things that creeks when you walk on it. Its a noisy old building That you can really hear your neighbors

This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn Express and was one of the best bests in Pagosa Springs. 4 or 5 years ago it would have been 4+ stars,. Now it has mold in the bathroom, silverfish in the bed, dirty carpeting and old mattresses. Plus the indoor pool was so cold my legs went numb (easily less than 75 deg) and my daughter could only stay in for 10 min.
We unfortunately had the room right next to the pool so other rooms may be much better. I would ask to see your room before your pay though.
