We were nearby and chose this place based on Unilocal reviews. First, getting there. With the address, Google Maps took us to Broadway St northwest of the shop. If you look at the pin on Unilocal, you can see the store is actually on the eastern one-way of Marine Way. After wandering around trying to find the place, we walked in the deli with about 15 minutes to spare. They stop making sandwiches at 2pm if I remember correctly. After that they will kindly ask you to return another day. I let this review sit so long I can’t remember what I had, but I loved it. My wife had the BIGLOU’S ROASTBEEF&HAVARTI and my son the BLT. We each tasted each other’s sandwiches and were pleased with everything on the table. I do remember having the bacon & chive potato salad for my side. After lunch we went next door to the bakery and bought some treats for the ride. Honestly we weren’t impressed with 5 out of 6 items. They weren’t bad, just nothing special. The deli, however, was worth the trip and worth a five star review.

Came once and had a good experience overall. Prices are very reasonable and the food was good. I had the French Onion Soup(very good) and the Old Chicago(good). The service was fine although I was a bit confused on where to stand to order. There is a sign that says«order here» but I wasn’t exactly sure where the line started because so many people who had already ordered were waiting for their food. The men who make the food yell out the numbers VERY loudly so stand back or your kids might get startled! If I came back to Paducah I’d stop here again for sure. Loved the ambience of the place.

Wow, this is a great bakery with lots of choice from exceptional breads and yummy cookies. We had a savory pastry of tomato, mozzarella and eggplant, as well a spiced pumpkin scone with cream cheese frosting. Both were delicious and filling, kept us going for the rest of the day. What we liked is that you can take your choice next door, on a plate, and then get a good coffee from Etcetera Café — perfect!

Deli style sandwiches on fresh baked artisan breads. Order at the counter and pick up when they call your number. Roomy space with open air dining a block or two off the river. Bakery next door. I had a grilled cheese(Brie) with tomato and bacon on some delicious sourdough. Paired mine with chips but they do offer some potato and macaroni salads. Soda pop and tea to drink. Food was delicious!!!

Might be a tad slow, but that is because it is made fresh for you. Daily specials and old time favorites, made just for you. Won’t be disappointed and try the grape salad!!!

Great bakery and very good sandwiches made with their bread. A great place for lunch and a Paducah mainstay since 1873.

This place is seriously delicious! I’ve never had a sandwich here that I didn’t absolutely love(however, the Cuban is my favorite). Also, the bakery is great and the staff are very friendly. You must try the Cranberry Walnut bread!

No gluten free menu aside… their food is delicious! I had the chicken salad in a lettuce wrap and my husband had the reuben. Fun atmosphere in an old building that actually had marble floors! Can you say amazing? Yum!

Great food. I mean GREAT slap your momma food. But… I can’t handle the screaming guy who yells out the order numbers. Sorry but it’s not charming after the first time I hear that guy.

Be careful about coming during lunch time if you are working, the line was VERY long. The Fried Green Tomato sandwich was great, and I will go back to try more. There must be a reason for such long lines … the food. :)

Awesome bakery on a quaint side street. I can’t wait to go back. Excellent selection and the staff are so friendly. Right next to a coffee shop. They go together like peas and carrots.

Loved this bakery during a recent trip to Paducah KY. My only reason for withholding a 5-star review is that the deli only serves lunch from 11a — 2p, which I missed so I didn’t get to sample any of their sandwiches or pizza. The bakery items I did taste were phenomenal — light, airy focaccia bread, several savory options, and the most decadent chocolate caramel bar cookie I have ever had. If you are traveling anywhere near Paducah, make a point to stop at Kirchhoff’s — they are bakery done right!

Stopped here on our way from TN to St Louis. This could be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. The bread was fabulous, perfectly toasted, and the meat was really piled on high. I had just a roast beef and swiss and it was juicy and full of flavor. My husband had the club, he literally could only eat half it was so huge! The bakery items we got were good, not awesome, but good. But the sandwiches were on point! Will definitely stop here again if we are ever in Paducah in the future!

Kirchhoff’s is an experience and we had a great one. When you step into the restaurant you feel like you’re in a big city, which adds to the feel. The line is out of the door and you don’t even care to wait because the smell of the food is intoxicating. As you get closer you are able to watch as the food is made right before your eyes. I had a fried eggplant sandwich and it was out of this world. One of the best sandwiches I’ve had to date. I don’t see myself being in Paducah anytime soon, if ever but if I do happen to be back I will DEFINITELY go back to Kirchhoff’s.

This place is definitely worth the drive. Tucked away in a beautifully restored building on a historic street complete with cobblestone is a true gem. The deli is cooking up world class sandwiches with unique flavors. Though there is a long line, it was worth the wait. Right next door is the bakery part with delicious breads, cookies, pies, dog treats, and more. Next to that is a coffee shop and boutique! You will never go for want around this area. We found it just driving around as we were going from SC to MO, and we are so impressed with the area and food we are talking about making this a vacation spot in the future. If I could I’d give them 6⁄5 stars!

Really good bread can make for a fabulous meal. It can certainly make an otherwise average sandwich amazing. And the stuff they’re baking here is, in general, just that good. When I’m in town and scheduling allows, I stop in for lunch and a few loaves to take away and have never been disappointed. Breads are uniformly well made if your preference is for heavier, toothier, Germanic or more rustic breads. The only loaf I’ve ever ordered that I wasn’t thrilled with was a spinach loaf that had very large(whole) spinach leaves that didn’t really add anything, flavor-wise. For all the love I have for Kirchhoff’s, though, this is not the place to expect an authentic crusty(light) French baguette — so don’t be disappointed. Lunch catering works great — sandwiches were timely, well-arranged /freshly made and everything necessary for service was included. Add-ons like chips and a dessert platter make a casual business lunch come together quickly and easily. And the sweets were especially good, from the cookies to the bars — even for fairly small plates, the variety offered was appreciated. Plus, orders were consistent and reliable, a definite plus when planning events in advance from a whole time zone away. I just wish they’d take non-catering orders for late pickup, as about half of the time I’m in Paducah, I don’t arrive until after their lunch service and several of their sandwiches are just that good. Pretty please??? :-)

Good sandwich(Reuben). Service was order and wait for your number. Good quality ingredients and fast. Ordered brownies and cookies from the bakery too which elevate this review by a whole point. It’s excellent.

Walked in to a SHOUTOUT of what I thought was a name but come to find out was a number. Heads up if you startle easily! This bakery has a deli side that serves lunch only for limited hours. While waiting for my order there were 21 people in line and ¾ of the tables were full. The traffic pattern is a mess so if you are easily irritated by chaos… send another member of your lunch group to fetch your order, which BTW is not called out in order. We chose to sit outside because the weather was perfect and the shouting cook was a bit too much for a peaceful lunch experience. There are three patio tables in the front and a slew of patio tables on the side of the bakery. The Fried Green Tomato BLT was absolutely delicious! Unreal! Wish I had ordered a whole sandwich instead of a half sandwich with homemade potato salad. Beverage choices included unsweet tea, lemonade, water, and bottled soda. My daughter selected the portobello and roast beef sandwich. It came out piping hot and stayed that way for over 5 minutes but the roast beef was tough as tough can be. The mushrooms were perfect. Each sandwich comes with a dill pickle spear. This worth the 5 miles or so drive off the interstate.
