Had a situation where i needed cash quickly!
Oops…a miscommunication at work in the schedule allowed me an extra half-​hour before we were to go fly.
Just-​enough time to run up the street — and into Toby’s Check Cashing.
Pulled in, parked, ran inside.
The place was EMPTY. NOT even anyone behind the counter with the bullet-​resistant plexiglass.
i knocked on the glass, said ‘hello?‘
Immediately, a friendly-​looking woman came out, asked me for my I.D. looked at my check, scanned my I.D. grabbed a handful of bills, counted them — TWICE — handed them to me, asked if i needed anything else, like a Money Order.
‘No, thanks’…and i was on my way.
i swear… i was outta there with cash IN-​HAND in less than five minutes — EASY.
NO hassle ! (NOT like similar places in Orange County)
and the cost? less than 1.5%. SWEET !
Made it back just in time to go do our thing… and take care of Guido afterwards.
i recommend Toby’s when in a cash-​crunch.
(unfortunately, i was in such a hurry — i have NO idea what their hours are, or days they’re open. Will try to get an update next week.
