This was a great restaurant a couple of years ago. Last night the food was nearly unpalatable. The oyster appetizer was straight out of a box, unseasoned, tasteless and heavily breaded. Shrimp over cooked, scallop undercooked. Mediocre burger at a very high price. Very slow as well.

Excellent in every way. Such a treat to find an upscale restaurant in a remote area. The ambiance was fantastic. Appetizer was Dungeness crab cakes… three delicate crispy cakes with a small salad. An incredibly delicate lemon-caper-paprika aioli vinaigrette dressing was on the salad. We had the Seafood Asian Boulibasse in Coconut Curry Broth with Yakisoba noodles, etc. and the special Sesimi Encrusted Ahi. Wonderful presentation. In honor of our anniversary we were offered either an after dinner apéritif or dessert.

PROBABLYWON’T BEBACK! I have posted very positive reviews in the past, but things have changed! The last TWO visits have been a major disappointment! The bartender was less than energetic and did not even know how to make the cocktail special that was on the blackboard. As far as food… The pork chop special was a little overlooked, but really good… But the wife’s steak was closer to a «breakfast steak» than the New York that was ordered and overcooked! The deal killer for us and why we may never go back… ITTOOK1.5HOURSTOBESERVED! THATISINSANECRAZY! The owner was over the top attentive after we voiced our frustration… But come on…1.5 hours! It is one of the best places for nice dinner in Pacific City… But I will drive down to the«Beach Bistro»(15 minutes away) in Neskowin first! I like the restaurant and the owner, but they need to get the timing in the kitchen figured out! Maybe a call to Gordon Ramsey is in order!

Our favorite restaurant on the Oregon Coast by a mile. The crab cakes are perfectly moist, made with nutty dungeness crab and no cheap filler, served with a side of greens because any sauce would be a shame to this recipe. The Asian bouillabaisse is phenomenal, each piece of fish cooked perfectly and not, as so often experienced, overdone; a kick of spice in the coconut curry-esque sauce a pleasurable surprise. And the duck breast entrée the best I’ve ever tasted: medium-cooked with crispy skin, tender and juicy and paired with savory mushroom and asparagus risotto and beurre rouge sauce. Are you drooling yet? Ate here for for our 3rd anniversary 6 years ago, and had to return on our next visit to Oregon. Quality has not diminished and well worth the trip!

Fantastic food, friendly and professional service, presentation perfect. What more could we ask for? We stumbled upon this place on a Wednesday night, just having arrived in town. It was so fantastic that we went back five nights later on our last night in town and it was just as terrific as the first night. The food was absolutely delicious, with something on the menu for everyone(although I didn’t look for vegan entrees). Everything was perfectly fresh and prepared to order. It looks like an also-ran with the motel surrounding it, but don’t pass this lovely restaurant by. We were blown away by the final bill, given that we’d ordered several appetizers, entrees, desserts, and wine. It was soooo reasonable. We live a couple hours away and plan to return and stay at their motel(they do accept dogs) just to have dinner and walk the beaches for a day.

We made reservations for 10 people. There were only 4 other people in the restaurant. We waited 1 ½ hours for our food. At one point, after we were there 30 min, a couple of our friends asked if we had ordered our food. We had, but somehow, the waitress forgot to ask for their order. When we flagged her down, she didn’t apologize that she had missed asking for their order. She said it didn’t matter that they were ordering 30 min after the rest of us had, because our food hadn’t even been started anyway. When our food finally arrived, we asked for more wine with our dinner. By the time the bottle was delivered, it was too late since we had all finished eating. One person said her rack of lamb was too rare, but she didn’t want to send it back since it had taken forever to get the food. Some of the other people said there food was good. Inconsistent quality. When we got the bill, they had added a 20% gratuity. We decided that we would never go back there again since it was such horrible service.

Awesome little bistro and wine bar. Great menu and a boutique bar that has the best selection of spirits, wine and beer. Best kept secret in Pacific City. Family owned and really nice Great food and great prices. Not crowded like the big corporate Pelican brewery and not as expensive either Nice clean hotel too with affordable rooms

We were staying in Nesko and the rental house recommended Delicate Palate. We are so happy we came here, and celebrating my nephew and his girlfriends birthdays since we were all together. Everything we tried was delicious. I had the crab cakes and seafood corn chowder that was the best I had ever had. Other dishes were the duck, salmon, curry bouillabaisse and everyone completely enjoyed. Most brought home food since portions were quite large. Wine selection is good for such a small restaurant. I look forward to going back on our next trip to Nesko.

We decided to try this place tonight after reading reviews. Pulling up to what looked like a yellow motel with a restaurant we were not sure what we were going to find. People wrote fine dining atmosphere but it did not look that way from the outside. Great example of don’t judge a book by its cover. We ate in the bar which we would highly recommend. You can eat off both the bar menu or the bistro this way. It was also more of a casual setting as opposed to the white tablecloths in the bistro. The crab cakes were delicious as was the oven roasted turkey sandwich. There was one bartender who was also the server who had to manage both sides but she was very attentive and checked on us often. When in Pacific City we would definitely come back here again. In our opinion this is definitely worth a stop.

Here on a Saturday night and its taking forever for service and food. Cloth covered tables and napkins and a white sheet of paper on top lets me draw to my heart’s content. I have yet to get my food and I’ve been here almost an hour — I’ll finish this after the food(duck breast & risotto with asparagus and shrooms. It took an hour and a half to get the duck and it was way under cooked in the middle — like jelly. They don’t seem to be equipped to serve more than a few patrons in one evening. This was a Saturday night and they knew that hordes of people would be coming to the coast because of the heat wave. It wasn’t anywhere near full — maybe 20 people. There’s no excuse. They have serious kitchen problems — total confusion! They give themselves a 3 star rating but they’ll have to do a lot better to justify it.

I plan my bi-monthly trips to the coast around when I can dine at Delicate Palate. I always get the Caesar Salad and then I ask Geoffrey the owner to choose my dinner based on my appetite. Britton(sp?) always remembers me and makes me feel welcomed. Their warm house baked baguette with salted butter sets the tone for a lovely evening and if I drink too much wine then hey! I can stay the night in one of their charming guest rooms! Can’t wait until their outdoor patio opens.

We came in later in the evening and this place was close to our hotel room. It was our first time in pacific city so if I would’ve known then, I wouldn’t have come to the delicate palate. The food was terrible and over priced. I got a beet salad for $ 10. It tasted as bough it was bathed in vinegarette dressing. My girlfriend got the fish and chips, which was $ 15. For being on the coast you would think the fish was fresh… The fish tasted as though it was frozen and then dipped in the fryer. The only edible food was the fries and the final bill with a single beer was $ 40. Will never go again. There’s other places within a few miles and much better food for half the price.

While the food was good, the service and the courtesy given to us when things went wrong was unacceptable. When an entire dinner experience is ruined so badly by incompetence, wouldn’t you want someone who is competent at dealing with the public to be representing you? We arrived at seven P.M. and promptly ordered drinks and dinner. While waiting for dinner, two other tables were filled. They were served approximately 1 hour after us and one of the tables had left. We were still waiting at 8:20. When I brought this to the attention of our waitress(the bartendress) at just before 8, she apologized and said she would get right on it. After the first table had left I inquired again. She checked again. At 8:24 I told her we would be leaving in 2 minutes, at 8:26. At 8:26 we walked out the door, not having paid. A man(a waiter?) followed us out and said our dinner was ready. We reluctantly went back in and sat. My dinner was not as I ordered it. The menu said Iceberg Lettuce and I had ordered extra lettuce too. I had one piece of Romaine. There was also cheese melted all over and I specifically ordered otherwise. All of this was on the order she had written. I said I will just take the French Fries. She brought the whole plate to me and I ate only the fries. When the bill arrived I was shocked to find that I had been charged for the entire meal! I told her I only wanted the fries since the rest of the order had been handled so badly. She said she would see what she could do. She returned shortly and said the owner said there was nothing to be done. I said I would like to speak to the owner. She disappeared and the returned with only the fries charged to me. I said, «So the owner won’t even see me?» I got no answer. A glass of wine was $ 12.00. A shot of Tequila was $ 9.50. No big deal. But when an entire dinner experience is ruined so badly by incompetence, wouldn’t you want someone who is competent at dealing with the public to be representing you?

I decided to ignore the negative reviews on Unilocal after the restaurant was recommended by someone in Portland. This was a big mistake. Likely the worst meal/dining experience of my life. Terrible service, terrible food, even the flowers were dead and the water in the vase was rotten. After talking with locals after dinner, we were told that about a year and a half ago that this was an outstanding restaurant. That chef is no longer there and it shows.

When my babe ordered Duck Carnitas Tostadas, I was like… really Tostadas, really!!! Oh baby, it was so yummy(look at all the photos)! It was a very tough choice this time between Pan Seared Wild King Salmon & Grilled Blue Mesa«Natural» 12 oz Ribeye Steak!!! I went with the steak!!! YUMYUMYUM! So next year it will be the Salmon. :) Our one waitress was THEBEST, she took care of both restaurant and the bar next door AND my wine glass was never empty! I seriously want everyone to experience this tiny little GREAT restaurant! :)

My girlfriend and I who both travel weekly for work decided to take a drive down the Oregon coast to see the little beach towns. We stumbled across this. GEM!!! Perfect wine selection, great staff and the food was amazing. I have diet restrictions and they customed the most AMAZING asparagus I’ve ever eaten and my girlfriend had a seafood curry dish she said«changed her life» and she fine dines for work 5 nights a week. Highly recommended!
