I was very confused when we arrived here because the pictures on the AirBnB listing were misleading to say the least. We drove past it twice because we could not believe we were at the right place. It isn’t very well lit at all and it kind of made me think of those horror movie hotels. As for our rooms, it was also nothing like the pictures. I will say the beds were clean, at least they seemed to be. It has one door on each side so you can enter on the pool or parking side. There is a full kitchen plus cooking accessories so we had the option to cook any meals we chose. All the floors were tiled which I guess is best for the sand but it didn’t feel«home-y» at all. Everything was plugged in to one surge protector which worried me because that’s not at all safe. The neighbors, whom I assumed were snow birding there, didn’t bother us at all. I don’t think I saw them more than once the whole weekend. The courtyard was a construction zone. All the bricks and concrete had been crushed and it looked like they were in the middle of the renovation but took a break for the holidays. The pool was drained and was protected by that orange construction net to keep people from falling in. I walked around the horse shoe property and all the other rooms with the exception on ours and 3 others were not being used for more than storage. I didn’t have any problems checking in, during the stay, or checking out. However I won’t be returning. I wish they would’ve included in the listing pictures of the hotel’s current state along with a notice that they are under construction. Obviously the pictures they posted are very outdated as it looks nothing like that now. I guess I can applaud them for being across the street from a beach access(#77) and not having a pest problem with everything else it had going on. The renter we rented from has a strict refund policy probably because people must refuse to stay after arriving. If it weren’t for losing basically all the money we paid to stay we would’ve found somewhere else also. Unless you are in dire straights please don’t end your search here when looking for accommodations in the area.

If I could give 0 stars a I would… Right off the bat you know that you are not getting a great place. For the price, you can’t expect much. However not only does it suck, it is very unsafe! They say they are doing«renovations» however it isn’t that bad. Well the entire court is full of stones, debris, etc. Half the rooms are being redone, and the ones that are done, need to be done again! We were going to stay for a few weeks. After a few days we had to leave. The first room didn’t have the bed that was described, crappy WIFI and was pretty dirty. The room we moved to had the right bed, but some serious water issues, not to mention a shotty heater, that when it got wet, from the leak, I seriously thought I was going to get zapped! Oh and there is no staff there… The office was permanently locked for the 4 days we did stay there. A «maintenance» guy banged on our door one morning to tell us we could move. Then when it came time to get our refund, that only took about 10 days.

So… We booked this place through AirBnB. Is was a very low price. I received a email explaining that it was self check in and it would be unlocked when we got there. Check it was fine the keys were in the room. The room was clean. There were two full sized beds. A full kitchen. Pots and pans mostly everything you need. There are good options around if you don’t want to cook for yourself. The Mexican place down the road Don Jose was really good. Now for why I nicknamed it bates motel. It was under construction when we arrived and it looked abandoned. The idea of having to email staff and wait up three hours for a response is a little scary. They allow pets. there were some tenants who I think stay there long term. When I was there one of the tenants who was allowing there dogs to roam the courtyard and they were definitely protecting the property. They scared my mother and law and stepson. I suggest bringing you own linens. Also cleaning supplies because they asked that clean it before you left. There were no roaches or other critters so I appreciated that. After construction I think it will be a nice motel. However until then they should stop having guest.

Run! The worst place I’ve ever stayed. Sand in the sheets, roaches, and rude staff.
