Guyanese food at the very best in Ozone Park. A few tips: — go early, everything is made fresh so once it’s done that’s it — bring cash, no cards accepted here

I really wanna give them 5 stars… don’t get me wrong, the food is point. One of the most authentic guyanese roti shops in Richmond hill(coming from a female Guyanese) HOWEVER, I feel like they don’t appreciate their customers because of the attitude given. If ur a male. no problem(sometimes i send my boyfriend in) cus it’s that bad. I mean one day, they’re so freaking nice & the next time u come in. omg its like wth. u should be grateful people are coming back. TIP: Learn consistent customer service especially towards FEMALES!!!

Great Guyanese food! I love the oil roti, not exactly oily but one of the best roti I’ve had. Very authentic food.

Great food. 4 stars instead of 5 because they close as 8pm and run out of food by 5pm. I guess that’s good that they sell out which means you get fresh food everyday. What’s bad is they are the only place with decent curry dishes but you can’t get any in the evening. Sometimes after a long days work you just don’t have the energy to cook. When you stop in thinking you’ll get something good, you walk out disappointed. They also don’t deliver. Not a smart thing when you have such a demand. There is only one person at the counter and sometimes it’s a long wait to get your food. Whenever you do manage to get it though, it is great. The ladies are friendly. My review is on the food itself… All the other things combined is a great disappointment but the food is what counts.

The food is great here but the people that work here are freaking animals! If you don’t like your damn job don’t take it out on the costumers. Such nasty people working here that needs to learn English! Its not like your giving me food for free, I pay with my damn money and I will take my business else where, where I can be treated like a human being and not an animal.

If I lived in New York, I would come here all the time for some good guyanese food! Having been away from Guyana/Little Guyana for many years, I’d forgotten what some foods were. The staff were funny and helpful despite this, so I’d especially recommend eating here for a first taste of Guyanese cuisine. You can’t beat the prices for the roti and street food(egg ball, cassava ball etc). Just remember to bring cash!

I love the bake! My dad buys it every saturday for us. Th dhal pouri is also really good. Thats all I had so I cant make judgements about anything else. But, the food does look like like home cooking.

I wish I can like this place. Don’t get me wrong, the food was great. My boyfriend and I both ordered some rice with eggplants, okra, and potatoes and we left satisfied and very full. They were perfectly seasoned and very delish.(and this was $ 8 for each plate) Now the main problem was the service. It was bad to the point that even one star seems too much. The first time we went, the lady was very nice and since we were new with Guyanese food, she kindly explained each dish and recommended us some dishes(which we loved!). But the last(and very last) two times we’ve been there, we were treated like dirt. We went last Tuesday afternoon and the person who worked here was just plain nasty with us. Mind you, that the second time we went there, we paid $ 21 for both our dishes and thought it was weird that we paid a lot more than we did last time. Funny how there’s not a pricing on the board about the lunch. Before ordering anything, I asked nicely how much each plate would cost. She went around the question like she never heard me and started to angrily mutter to her coworker in her language. When we ordered, she looked annoyed as she scooped up the side dishes. I had to ask her again to get an answer and she scowls, ‘$ 9′. Then I told her I’ll pay immediately and she didn’t seem to like that either. The middle aged man who worked there last time wasn’t far off from how she acted. For some strange reason, when it comes to asking for the price, it comes to this. We felt very uninvited and pretty hurt because we enjoyed the food and service there last time but that last time was literally the LASTTIME we got treated in a friendly manner. I started to wonder if this was a race thing, since the other customers were treated very well. And us who are not from that race, that maybe they feel like they can make us feel like we’re not wanted there and charge us more in the process? I don’t know what it is. I think everyone would agree that when you go to a place, you don’t want to get treated in this manner nor do you want to be scammed. And that’s exactly how I felt. I tried to figure out exactly what we did to deserve this treatment here. But I’m not going to make another trip to find that out. I’ll spend my hard earned cash where it’s worth it.

Best chicken curry — but I don’t know if I’m the best person — I live on the west coast where West Indian food is a rarity… I wish I lived next door to this place

Review on the chicken curry rice and the 2 types of rotis, pretty great! Definitely one of the best ethnic curries I’ve had — spicy and flavorful, packs a punch! Use the leftover curry sauce to dip the roti in — and omg, so good! Will be back for more. Maybe at that time, this will be upgraded to 5 stars

If I’m in the mood for food like my mom makes then I come here. In my opinion this place has the best Guyanese food on Liberty Avenue and there are a lot of Guyanese restaurants. It’s consistently delicious and I have never gotten anything from here that was bad. The snacks like salara, potato and cassava ball are the best I’ve had outside of Guyana and the food itself is good like the fried rice and baked chicken. Forget about the vegetables like the fried potato and roti. The best. This is one of the few places I would take friends who are not Caribbean to try Caribbean food because it tastes just like homemade. I highly recommend it.
