Food was good, and our service was also good. I ordered. The kids menu beef was actually really good too. Not the most space here, I was kind of pinned in the corner with a stroller and a high chair at my side… and another table of like 6 sat immediately next to us which made it a little uncomfortable. The food was good though. I will definitely go back.

We’ve had nothing but great experiences at Sura. We tend to get a chicken Kabob for husby and then share the veggie stone bowl. This gives plenty of food for everyone in the party. I agree the sides are authentic Korean(compared to LA’s K-town) and are delicious. I especially like the Kimchi and side potatoes. We generally have a HITE beer to go with. Last Valentine’s we requested Gimbap ahead of time(give the chef two days or more notice), and it was an especially large order and very tasty. The cost was around $ 10.99 for the fish. If I could, would go to Sura every night and try different meals, like the stews with tofu.

Their tofu soup is fantastic! You can request how spicy you want it. It comes with an amazing assortment of sides(pickled vegetables, kim chee, etc.). I am happy that we can get this in our neighborhood. Staff is pleasant, service is good, restaurant is clean and they are located on the channel in Oxnard.

Not enough staff, terrible service. Was busy, when we came in, the server with tattoos noticed we were waiting with kids, but didn’t even greet us or tell us how long the wait was. Food is good, chicken wings were not as good as kyo chon, bolgogi and kalbi were good, the prices could be cheaper.

Service not good. Soup came out after the main course. Calamari come out later cold. Second beer order took forever until she came back later and ask if we’re okay. I told her we been waiting for the beer for quite a while. Then she bring a flat beer… food is okay. Not to crazy about it. Sushi chefs argued with the servers over orders in front of customers very unprofessional!

We miss this place since we moved but when we’re in that area of Oxnard it’s either Sura or Anaba, and most of the time it’s SURA. The food is always fresh and customer service is top notch. Yuri and her husband are accomodating and their servers are very friendly. If you’re looking for korean food, this is the spot for ventura county.

«Sura isn’t the type of place where you’re like nah I’m not feeling it tonight, It’s the kind of place where you go „I’m down“ 100% of the time.» –Juli Do

This is a very nice place to go. The price is fair. Food is good. But we waited for More than 30 mins to get in. The older waiters/tresses are very nice and welcoming. But the two young waiter and waitress are very mean and look at us in a weird way from my point of view. And they treat us poorly. My sis asked for a water without ice and that was enough to make him look bad. But anyway. I still enjoy my dinner there. It’s a small but sweet place! I only hope they can improve their service. Recommend!

Wow is all I can say about my spicy tofu soup and the level of service I was given at sura tonight. My only regret is that I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman who served me. He has gauges and is super attentive and respectful. The food was just how I like it and I will be back for more. Definitely a hidden gem.

Quality food, fair prices. The dinner special is my favorite: clams only tofu soup with BBQ ribs. Only complaint is I wish they had more side dishes, including spicy cucumber. Another yummy dish is the pork belly over kimchi.

Good Korean food here. The service was fast even though the restaurant was full. They served quite a few sides and all the traditional Korean sides that you come to expect. The galbi beef was delicious and the spicy pork was very good too.

The food was delicious, the portions were huge, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the music(oldies) was fabulous. I recommend the beef brisket soup: it was warm, hearty, and pleasantly spicy. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

It’s refreshing going inside one of your fav restaurant & they remember you! Also, to everyone who comes in, you’re greeted right away by the waitresses & owner! I always get the tofu soup, medium, mixed. By itself or I would get the lunch special which adds a small entrée of: BULGOGI(shredded beef steak), spicy pork, chicken, tempura. We really love having xtra side dishes of the seaweed salad, fish cake(don’t let the name fool you, it’s actually really yummy) & kimchi! The small portions is not enough for myself & my beau. Most times, we come in, we have to try something different. So far we’ve had, Kimchi pancake: really good! Must try! Steamed egg: nothing too special, but it’s still good. Grilled mackerel: really fishy, but I don’t mind, the sauce makes it even better! Chicken wings: HIGHLYRECOMMEND! * there’s also another fried fish. I forgot the name, but I like it a lot better than the grilled mackerel Most entrée’s come with purple rice. & the service is always amazing, better than GEN! & I highly recommended

Wow. 5 stars for Sura. I came here for lunch yesterday with a group of friends and ordered a spicy beef soondubu, my bf ordered the bibimbap and we have the jajangmyun to share. The soondubu was probably the best I have ever had. This says a lot considering I’m from Cerritos and have had my fair share of Korean food. Sura is even better than Chodang Soondubu and the BCD chain of restaurants. The jajangmyun was delicious and so was the bibimbap. I wish I could give Sura another star for being such a open and airy restaurant. I did not leave smelling like the odor of kbbq. Everything was great — the food, the service, and the location! Wish there was a Sura closer to home. I would come back here again if I were ever in the area.

Sura is a great traditional Korean restaurant with a modern twist. The food and service is good. The parking can be a nightmare on Fridays and weekends. The place is kind of small so seating is limited. It’s on the water but doesn’t have a water view. The prices are a little high considering a lunch platter with soup is $ 15+ when you can go across town and have AYCE Korean for $ 15.

For being a Korean restaurant so far from K-town I’m giving this place a 5! Being married to a Korean woman who’s mother is an awesome cook I feel like I have a good handle on whats good. First, the place is small. You won’t be bringing your party of 10 here for Korean dinner. Think of it as not being much bigger than the size of the biggest Subway you’ve ever eaten at. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. One of them, we found out later, was one the owners. The Banchan(Korean side dishes), for me, was authentic, flavorful, basically legit. As good as any K food you’d find in the valley and even K town for that matter. For the main course we ordered Hamul Tan(fish and seafood soup, Seafood Soon Dubu(tofu soup), and Kalbi(traditional Korean bbq short ribs) and it was all up to par with what we expect authentic Korean food to taste like. They also offer Korean beer and Soju to add to the experience. Bottom line, can’t go wrong here. Give them a try!

Probably one of the few Korean places around town. Which is a pleasant surprise! The Good: The place is nice and clean. The staff are nice. We were seated quickly on a busy Friday lunch time. Was asked if we had any questions about their menu and our server checked in on us to refill our drinks and asked how we were doing. The dressing on the Miso salad was a nice balance of ginger, vinegar and miso goodness. The greens were crunchy and fresh too! The soft tofu soup is as tasty as you would get in LA. You can also choose from a varying level of heat depending on how hot you want your soup. This definitely left me filled and my craving for Korean food satisfied! The Bad: I eat my rice with chopsticks in the traditional way. That being said, I wish the actual rice bowl was served in a different material like a ceramic. They have it in metal right now which can and is difficult to hold when the rice is piping hot. Their Banchan, while the Kimchi was yummy and authentic. But that’s about it. I wish their banchan had a different set. Would have loved to seen a potato salad, a pickled vegetable of some sort and a fish cake. The Ugly: their Homemade potstickers was a no go for me. The wonton was overcooked and chewy, the meat was under-seasoned. The dipping sauce was pure soy sauce and needed the black vinegar to cut the saltiness and add flavor. It also arrived 20mins after our order was placed, but our server acknowledged and apologized for the delay so all is well. Their prices tend to be in the pricier side for what they serve and just for K food generally Chances for return? Maybe.
