I am still trying to understand what my dad paid nearly $ 6 for. He went and got us five guys burgers to try the place out and I am in still in shock on what all the hype is about. This just proves my point that a lot of places are only popular because they are popular, no other reason. That is the case with many restaurants in Oxnard. For the price and all the hype I was expecting a unique burger tastes on the first bite. But instead it just tasted like any other home made burger. This burger tastes identical to a quarter pounder from Wendys! But at Wendy’s I can get the entire meal for the price of one Five Guy’s burger. This has also proven another theory of mine, that most people are just zombies and just repeat what others say, and like what the«majority» like because it makes them feel cool. Anyone who pays 13 dollars for an entire meal for food that taste just like anything else are a bunch of idiots.

I really like their burgers. The only reason I’m giving them a 4 star is because the service is really slow. There was barely any people when we went in and we still had to wait a long time. Love the peanuts and the cajun fries!

I’m giving 5 guys a solid 4 stars– would be 5 but I feel they don’t compete with a In n out total value. Today I ordered 1 cheeseburger no fries no drink total coast $ 8.00 –don’t get me wrong the burger was great but is it really worth $ 8.00? You will have to make that decision yourself– for me for every 10 double doubles at $ 5 I’ll get 1 five guys simply due to the total value. Regarding the burger: 5 guys patty is big and juicy– their cheese game is always on point(will post pic) and the add ons always fresh. I like that they wrap it in foil– that’s what makes the cheese melt to perfection. The burgers will not disappoint! Just keep in mind if you were to get a drink and fries with this your talking about a $ 13.00 price tag– the good thing about the fires is they are so big you can easily share.

We were craving a hamburger and we decided to go to Five Guys because it was actually slow instead of the insane can’t get into parking lot at the Collection. First of all the parking lot was still full but there was only a few customers in the restaurant. We ordered a cheese burger which happens to have a double patty so if you want a single patty you need to order a little burger. They let you choose from many custom toppings which is nice but they charge quite a bit so unless you order ever topping it’s kind of not worth it. Don’t get me wrong the burger was good but it was almost $ 8 and we like a simple cheeseburger. For that price I should have a waitress bringing it to me. $ 13+ for cheeseburger and a milkshake thank goodness we shared. We also ordered a vanilla malted milk shake and they asked if we wanted whip cream but they didn’t shake the whip cream can so there was a gloppy mess of cream on top. That is just lazy employees that don’t care. The employee who was working there was a sloppy mess with dirty hand print marks down her uniform and a dirty apron. That’s not what I want to see from someone who is making my hamburger. It looked like they had been wearing the uniform and apron for a month. Where is the manager who should be making sure there employees are presentable. Not cool! Really disappointed because I live near the Collection and really need a descent place to grab a burger.

In the recent years I’ve come to love the dirty burger more than a clean one and when I think dirty I think Five Guys. The word sounds bad but I’m saying it in a positive way, you know you’ve wanted a dirty burger too. You might even want one right now if you’re searching for places like Five Guys. I’ve been here several times before. The service is a moderate speed but you know the guys are working hard. It’s plain to see that the kitchen is small and the workers are diligent because you can see them from the dining area. They got my order wrong once though. I asked for extra mushrooms and onions and they game me no mushrooms and onions. That made me real sad. You can also order through the app, pay through the app, and set up a pick up time. I’ve done it before and my burger was made accordingly.

Gives In and Out a run for their money, and now they even have Shakes. The place was clean and they had plenty of peanuts. Next to Target off 101, parking can be a little tough, but place was clean including the bathrooms, so this makes a great rest stop on the way to Santa Barbara. They also have a Whole Foods nearby, so between Target and Whole Foods, you are well covered if you want to. shop after eating. I got a cheeseburger, double, small coke, and small fries. Gave the extra meat patty to my pug, who was very greatful. Two fat thumbs up, keep up challenging In and Out, we need the competition to keep things legit.

Pros, Cons, then summary I usually go here with my family PROS – Great food! The burgers and great, plenty of different options on how you want them cooked, and the free all-you-can-eat peanuts are a nice touch. The drink sizes are fine too. I like the atmosphere, and the workers are pleasant. CONS – Price. It’s basically the same price as a «restaurant» burger… it is not fast-food priced. Seating is terrible during peak hours at this location. Cost too much if I bring my family of four… there were many times when I would have come here, but the prices were just too much. Also, they should stay open later, at least for the late-night crowd. They close at 10, and there has been many times I’d prefer to go here after a sporting event, concert, club, etc… The age-old debate is: 5 Guys or In-N-Out??? Well, for me, it depends. If I just got paid and feel like a burger, and don’t want to go to a restaurant, I’d go here… In-N-Out for all other occasions. Would I go back? Yes, but only on paydays… the food is good, just overpriced.

Not really a fan of throwing peanuts/trash on the floor but I guess that’s the franchise tradition. Food is delicious and made to order, just the prices are too damn expensive. $ 5+ for a single hamburger, granted you can put all the condiments on, but it’s insane how extreme these prices are. Overall was some scrumptious food.

Uhhh. One star because… Uhhhgggg get me out of here! $ 31.00 for a bacon burger, 2 hotdogs, 1 large fry and 1 drink. Diet Coke was good. Hamburger and hotdogs on STALE buns. Downhill from there. Oh yeah… the one star is for the music that was drowned out by the rolling garbage can being pushed around effing constantly. It’s sooooo dirty here. Nasty. My husband said the restroom was disgusting. Using sanitizing hand gel all over us as soon as we leave. And yes the guy who took our order has a stick up his you know what. Really? BTW. My husband got sick. Felt queasy soon after eating. It’s almost 6 hours later, still queasy. Yikes! 08÷28÷15− been trying to get refund. No luck yet. District Mgr. Wants me to back in store for debit card reversal. No. not convenient to ME! Called corporate again. Let’s see if they can mail check. Not leaving my hard earned $$ with them! 09/08/15 – still no refond. Called corp again. Dist.Mgr. closed the case! ! What!!! Trying to escalate. Being«Corporate Blocked». Spoke with supervisor who is escalating up corporate. Doesn’t have a name or ph# of where escalating. Doesn’t know when I’ll get call back. Good job there Corporate Man. Didn’t seem to care. Probably not even a supervisor. Let’s see what happens.

5 Guys. 5 Stars. Don’t believe the cheap skates who want restaurant burgers at fast food prices. I should point out before my rant that I LOVE In n Out. It’s my favorite burger place… next to Five Guys. How in the WORLD does this place have only 3 stars avg? Are you kidding me? Here’s the thing: Yes, 5 guys costs more than In n Out. But you also get WAYMOREFOOD for that and at MUCH higher quality. In n Out: small, thin pattys. Five Guys: Much thicker and bigger pattys. Much juicier too. In n Out: small stringy fries in a small paper boat. Five Guys: better tasting regular fries and AMAZING cajun fries. They fill up a cup with fries for you and then just pour a TON into your bag. you get about 3x more fries than you get at in n out. and like In n Out they are hand cut. In n Out: about 4 choices for toppings for your burger. Five Guys: About 16 choices. All free. I could keep going… So I will… In n Out: In total, about 8 menu items. Including their«secret menu» Five Guys: about 13 menu items. and their hot dogs are to die for. In n Out: 8 drink choices Five Guys: over 100 drink choices. Any smart eater who cared about their food to money spent ratio would go to Five Guys. Any smart eater who prefers quality would go to Five Guys. Anyway, on to the review. Five guys is more expensive than most places. And for a reason. The burgers you get don’t taste like they’re churned out franchise burgers like you get from Mcdonald’s or In n Out. They taste like home made this juicy burgers. Or like the type of huge cheeseburger you’d buy at the fair. They’re nostalgic in a way. I walked in and there was no line, which is very rare for Five Guys. So we ordered fast and paid about $ 28 bucks for 2 burgers fries and drinks. The food takes a little longer than most places like In n Out or Jack in the box. I guess making better burgers takes more time. We got our food in about 12 minutes. And then I was in heaven. The burger was expertly cooked. The cheese was melting off the burger and my chosen condiments were fresh and tasty. The french fries were from Parkinson Farm in Saint Anthony somewhere back east, as the sign stated that hung in the restaurant. And they were great too. There’s not a whole lot to say because it was just so good. We came, we ate, we left. The establishment was clean and the staff very friendly. Five Guys. Five Stars. I will go back every time I’m near.

I’ll start this off with. It’s a fast food chain so what do we expect? Upon walking in it has a very odd atmosphere. The whole design with the tiles is a bit ghetto in my opinion. Not very inviting… The menu is easy to read and easy to understand. The way you order is like Subway in a way. It’s basically a build your own burger place. I’ve had basically every build here and I’ve enjoyed the food quality every time. But moving onto why I only gave it 3 stars… The meat isn’t very well seasoned, if any at all. The lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles etc all taste fresh and good. The bacon is always cooked properly and it’s crispy. The food quality isn’t the issue here it’s more so the staff and décor for me. Each time I’ve ordered the staff seems to always have an attitude or be drifting off into space. I don’t find this acceptable in a chain restaurant. They have standards and they should be met. Plus I’m always nice when ordering so there’s no reason for the attitude or lack of attention to their customer. Overall I’d recommend this place for a quick bite. You can’t go wrong with any burger you order really. Just don’t expect it to be the best burger you’ve ever had. And definitely do NOT compare this place to In-N-Out. They are completely different styles of burgers. Food: Average Décor: Terrible Staff/Customer service: Needs work. Cooks do a good job. Just not the front. Cleanliness: Very clean. Bathroom: Clean and a ok.

Kids just drove us crazy. Wanted this burger bad. Prefered this instead of a high rated Korean BBQ. Burgers are decent and fries are fresh but when I am in mood of burgers, In and Out satisfy me better.

I was really excited to try this place when they opened up locally. So this is my review, from a FIRST-TIMER I must say that my daughter and I were disappointed. The pictures look so good on the menu board… but then… you get this small kind of shriveled-up burger on a supermarket bun :( I would describe it like the Chipotle or Subway of Hamburgers. I like the concept, but the end product was not even close to what I expected. I guess I was expecting more of a Fuddrucker’s experience(hamburger heaven on Earth :) Not bad, but not great… I will continue my quest for the perfect burger

Five Guys is pretty good burger place. GREAT Customer service. Warning to those who are allergic to peanuts!!! They have peanuts throughout the place. So many reviews compare Five Guys to In N Out. Those people who compare any burger place to In N out clearly dont know what they are saying! Once you have visit so many other burger places that are not fast food joints then you can speak.

First, a WARNING! They use PEANUTOIL to cook the spuds and have unshelled peanuts all over the place!!! Now that I’ve gotten that out the way, if you’re in southern Cali, all burger joints that pop up ultimately get the question, «Do they bring it BETTER than In N Out?» IMHO, Five Guys does just that! They’ve set up shop in Oxnard’s The Collection, just across the freeway from the local In n Out. It’s like a showdown with a young whipper-snapper throwin’ the gauntlet at a grizzled gunslinger shouting, «Cum on out! Or, are ya yeller!!!» Yup, I love the gun battle tension of the classic Western!!! The first obvious difference is there’s no drive-thru @ this Five Guys. I like that there’s unlimited access to unshelled peanuts. I can up the protein load and happily limit the fry intake. Also, they’ve installed supa dupa soda machines so you’ve got crazy options to «quench yur thirst.» We order a few things from the claimed«Willy Wonkas of Burgercraft»… *HAMBURGER: A hamburger here is TWOFRESH quarter pound patties. You can see the freshness as the grill master emerges with patties in hands with a hue that screams, «FRESCA!!!» Five Guy patties are BIGGER than In N Out, and putting 2 between buns makes for some substantial meat. Next, there is a bunch of OPTIONS for your burger. Most important to my lil man is GRILLEDMUSHROOMS! I like the GRILLEDONIONS and A-1 Steak Sauce. They’ve never asked how I’d like it cooked, but it usually comes well done, but still nicely juicy and tasty. The result is a burger that satisfies the senses AND is a better hunger squasher than In N Out. *FIVEGUYFRIES(FIVEGUYSSTYLE and/or CAJUNSTYLE): Thick style that does NOT have the crispness because of PEANUTOIL usage. They’re very generous with fries servings, though, so order appropriately. I do enjoy the spiciness Cajun Style offers but I don’t eat much of it. I leave that to the young squires. I prefer to work on the peanuts cuz the calorie load for the fries is impressive! I’m not kiddin’! Peep out the paper menu :( *BACONHOTDOG: I don’t like that they split open up the dog and grill it. Comes out kinda dry. Bacon is nicely crispy, though, but it can’t repair the damage. Costco does it better! Tasty burger alternative to In N Out that is more filling, as well. I also enjoy the extra protein load that unlimited peanuts offers, so it fits my lifestyle much better. Easy recommendation ;)

This place make me miss DC and I wish they were more plentiful in California. I’ve noticed that in some places they don’t recreate the beauty of the burger I had come to know in DC and Virginia, but here I felt at home. The customer service was great all the way through from the woman taking our order, to that upbeat cook with the glasses, dancing and offering his smile. The tables were kept pretty clean and the floor was sparkling considering they allow you to throw the peanut shells everywhere. The burgers are delicious, and have a home cooked feel. You definitely get your fill with the regular burger as it comes with two patties. I don’t think it’s fare to compare this place to In N Out as many do because of the price point and quality. The flavor of the meat and endless customizable toppings really sell the experience here to go along with their signature fries.

$ 13. That was the cost of my single cheeseburger combo. A little steep for a burger joint but comparable to its neighbor Panera. In a perfect world where calories, heart disease and budgets don’t exist, I’d eat at Five Guys more often. Just imagine Carl’s Jr. knocks up In & Out and has quintuplets, that’s Five Guys. It’s the freshness of In & Out mixed with the more adventurous side of Carl’s Jr. A single cheeseburger will run you $ 6.99 but all the toppings are free and I’m the kind of dude that can get his money’s worth. Grilled onions and mushrooms, yes please. Lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mayo, mustard, jalapeños, pickles, pile it on. A1 or hot sauce? Hot sauce. It’s really good but is it $ 13 good? Once every few months I say yes it is. Try it or Diet Final Word If you like In & Out but have rebellious streak. Try it.

I haven’t been to a Five Guys in over a year, only because there isn’t one near where we live. Today was no disappointment, as my burger was as wonderful as always! Keep in mind, even though I’ve never seen a five guys with a drive through, it’s fast food. With that said, they have the best burger in the business, served with AMPLE amount of fries(ordered separately). The toping options give you a late variety that can change your dining experience every single time you come, over and over! If you’ve never been, make a trip and go! If you are a die hard In & Out fan, then I’m sorry, but FGB&F has you beat, even against animal style!

Five Guys Burgers and Fries was an A-OK experience. I feel like my $ 19 could have been better spent at In-N-Out or The Habit but it’s good for a friend’s first time here :) My cheeseburger had BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms(pretty simple nothing too crazy) and I thought it was juicy and mediocre. The french fries, on the other hand, were amazing and wish I had ordered them in cajun :(Sounds really gooooood right now lol It does get busy where there’s a line from the cashier to the door but they do have peanuts for the wait :)
