California Retina Consultants

I am an optometrist, and I have referred hundreds of patients to California Retinal Consultants over many years. I first started the referrals when Dr. Avery had a solo practice. Now they have eight retinal specialists.
I recently had retinal surgery myself by Dr. Avery and I am blown away by the level of technical skills that he and his seven associates have.
For many years I have told patients of mine how lucky we are to have this practice in our community.

The doctor here was a really nice guy. He really knew what he was talking about. Unfortunately, the nursing staff here was very rude and unprofessional. They didn’t tell us ahead of time that my fiancé was getting her eyes dilated, and the nurse who was doing her checkup kept repeatedly asking her if she could see out of her left eye, which we told her she was blind in. When I called to ask about her pictures of her retina, which I overheard them say they lost, the nurse argued with me and had the worst attitude I’ve ever heard from a nurse before. I hope someone from this office reads this, and takes my complaint seriously. I even hope the nurses read this. I would say to them «It’s not ok to talk to patients like that, even if you think they’re wrong».
