Went to Cabo yesterday afternoon for dinner. Had carnitas with rice, ref tied beans, cilantro, limes, corn tortillas and chips with dip. The service was terrible. Everything took too long even waiting for the check and change. Apparently a short haired old female manager had cross words with the cashier right in front of customers. As for the food – it was awful and kept me up all night with an upset stomach. Three Antacid pills gave no relief until today. One star is too many for this experience. Won’t be going back. No Bueno!

Nice and festive atmosphere. We had heard great things about this restaurant and was excited to take our family. Overall was a disappointment. Waiter was not friendly. Did not bring requested items. An order was made incorrectly as well. There was a consensus the food was not worth the $ 80 bill.

Our first time at Cabo Restaurant, we have decided to give our review 5 stars because we were very pleased from the excellent service we received from our waitress Esmeralda. She was very attentive and polite at all times, she gave us the kind of customer service that is very difficult to receive even in at the highest end restaurant. The food was good, we have to say it wasn’t the best Mexican food out there however it was very clean, warm, appealing to the eye and tasty, just not as tasty as it looks, It could use more flavor and kick to it. Overall our first impression was great and we would definitely go back for a night of drinks and appetizers!

Sit-down Mexican with consistent quality of food and significant portions for a reasonable price = long-time family favorite. I’ve had literally everything on the menu, and it’s all good, some of it great. I’d rank the bistec ranchero, any of the shrimp dishes, the picadillo sope, queso fundido, margaritas, and the fresh tortillas that come with your order among the highlights. Last night, coming off several heavy meals in a row, I opted for the carne asada salad(asada, avocado, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, beans), and I really enjoyed it. My mom’s grilled fish entrée and brother’s grilled shrimp entrees were also very good. Oh, and the bottomless chips and salsa are really good after you throw some habanero sauce in the salsa and salt the chips, but, even without those things, I’m not going to look a free-chip-horse in the mouth.

Good food but very disappointing that they don’t have a la carte for the tacos. The food does taste authentic but do NOT order the fish soup. They add cabbage and tomato and those are two things that absolutely do not go in fish soup. It takes away from the flavor

Guacamole was good, tortillas were average, horchata was great, we were seated in a side table that was nice and separate from other tables, making it a nice family meal time. Service was poor, the waiter was very unpleasant and mumbled and grunted when trying to communicate with our table guest. Not bad overall, but nothing special to go out of your way for.

Good food and quantity. Had the chorizo burrito and the oysters. Hood service and got our food in reasonable time. Overall good experience at the restaurant and would recommend this place to eat.

Went here because we were craving mexican seafood. The server acted like she was new. She ignored us for the most part. I ordered a margarita which came with a shot on the side instead of mixed in already and to make it worse, i had a margarita in a glass that looked like«on the rocks» instead of an actual margarita looking glass. She never offered to get me another one after i finished that one, so i went ahead and asked for a water. She brought the water till the very end. Once i didnt want it anymore. All in all the shrimp coctel is delicious and the fish cevich is not bad at all. Food is worth it only if you have patience for the service.

Ordered the chimmychanga(sauce on the side). The waiter noticed that it wasn’t made correctly after bringing it out. I Opted to try it anyways and thought maybe I’d like it enough to keep the plate. No dice. Didn’t care for the sauce. Ordered shrimp tacos instead. Tacos were good. A little too much onion for my liking but was still good. Rice was great. Beans were ok. Tortillas were good. Guac seamed promising but didn’t hold up to its appearance.

Average at best. Nothing I had would make me really want to come back. The customer service was good though.

Went with my mom after moving furniture all day. We waited for a while to be seated, even though there were barely any customers. Our server wasn’t so pleasant. My mom asked what a dish was and the server looked annoyed when having to talk about a dish. I’m giving 3 stars because I go here with my uncle all the time and we love it. It’s not usual to have service like this.

I’ve been here several times and have no plans to stop. I’m a big lover of Chile Relleno and when I find a place that does it right they’ve got a fan for life. Just the right amount of batter, the chile is stuffed with oozing white cheese, and the sauce buffers the heat of the chile. Yum! The guacamole is made to order and they come to the table and ask you what you’d like in it, fresh and chunky you will be fighting your date or friend for the last bite! Margaritas pack a punch and are made with the good stuff, though I regret I normally don’t get to have one being the designated driver and all. My date being a gentleman opened the door to Cabo and you are instantly enfolded into a loud atmosphere, music and conversation is everywhere so if you are noise sensitive take that into consideration. The hostess station at times gets a bit to clogged and new diners get ignored while the host or hostess deals with whatever may be going on at that moment. They have a mariachi group that walks around and takes requests… Very nice touch. The one negative out of my experiences at Cabo, is I do not care for the constant stream of men who sit in the bar area and leer at women as they walk in. I was with a date and that didn’t even stop them, it’s just uncomfortable and downright rude in my opinion.

I enjoyed my meal here with a group of friends last weekend. Being on a low carb diet can sometimes make eating at a mexcian restaurant a little tough… mostly because I want to devour baskets of chips and eat all the beans and rice! But looking at their menu I knew there were be lots of other options. I had the bacon wrapped shrimps that were stuffed with pasilla peppers and a side of steamed veggies. My shrimps were perfectly cooked. The bacon was nice and crispy. I could have eaten a dozen of these things. The veggies were very fresh, needed a bit more seasoning but I can add my own salt. Heard zero complaints from the rest of the table. I sampled the carnitas and they were tasty as well. I drooled over the chimichanga that was sitting across the table from me… that thing looked good! Friendly service! Lots of TV’s to catch up on sports.

I like the food here, and that they are open late. If you are hungry and it’s after 9 o’clock, this is a great option. My husband and I have eaten here several times, with the most recent being last Saturday night. My favorite dish here is probably their carnitas, though their shrimp and chicken are also good. The menu has a large selection of traditional Mexican dishes and the service is good. If you like guacamole, I recommend you try it here. On the appetizer menu for about eight dollars, it includes fresh avocados at your table, along with other ingredients, and then they make it right in front of you. It’s pretty cool. For dessert, their cheesecake and chocolate cake are both good. My husband will not use their restroom, but he could not remember exactly why it was so bad. The women’s restroom is fine. Overall, I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and want some tasty Mexican food.

Cabo Seafood Grill & Cantina has a bustling bar area, indoor and outdoor seating and even mariachi’s on certain nights. The owners, Pete and Arturo, are fantastic and have a great story. The two partners first met in 1976 when Pete was the GM for Sizzler and Art was in charge of the kitchen. Their friendship lasted, but the Sizzler did not, and 21 years later became home to their now very successful restaurant. Everything on the menu is solid and the fresh made tortillas just make everything better. If you like salsa, Oxnard hosts an annual Salsa Festival and Cabo’s recipe has won more than a dozen awards. If your looking for the whole package… great food, great service and a great atmosphere, this is the place to go. The worst part is the limited parking space. Try it or Diet Final Word Definitely try it. There are literally more than a hundred Mexican restaurants in Oxnard. The fact that Cabo is probably the most successful of them all speaks for itself.
