You’re Fired

Haven’t been here in awhile but my daughter and I really enjoy it so we came up for her bday. It was a GREAT experience!!! The lady there was patient, kind and extremely helpful. I wish I had gotten her name so I could leave it here. I can’t wait to go back, and it’s definitely in part because of the ambience and staff.

You’re Fired is such a cute fun place in Oxford. I first discovered it back in 2008. I’d never been to pottery painting place but s friend invited me and I’m so glad she did!
This pottery place is great because you pay a flat studio fee ($ 8/​adult) and then the price of whatever you’re painting (mug, plate, etc,). They have a large selection of items to paint. As well, they have lots of examples to give you inspiration.
Their staff is always SO friendly and helpful. Each time I’m there I’m so please at how accommodating and pleasant they are. If you’re looking for something fun and different to do either alone or with friends, You’re Fired is a great option!

I absolutely love this place. Everyone is super friendly and you don’t even have to clean up after yourself!!! It’s a fun time with whoever you take whether it’s your kids or your friends.

My best friend and I decided to come here while I was visiting her at Miami University. Both of us are really into art and painting so we figured this would be a perfect bonding experience. We walked from her dorm room to the shop, scheduled an appointment for us to come in and paint, and walked around while we waited. When we got there, the girl working informed us that we would be unable to paint due to a large party that had be scheduled before us. She claimed to have called us «multiple times,» but we only received one phone call and it was missed while we were standing in line waiting to be helped inside the shop.
The girl working did not seem to be at all concerned that our plans had be ruined due to her/​the other employees poor management and organization and quickly shooed us off. I’m very disappointed by the service I received and due to this would not recommend this place to anyone.
It’s a bummer, I feel like I would have really enjoyed painting here.

A group of seven of us had a great time here for my friend’s 30^th birthday. Lots of pottery to choose from and a personalized plate already decorated for my friend to take home. They also let us being wine in, which you know makes any gathering better. My only issue is that the sitting fee seems a bit high and the girls working there, much like everywhere else in Oxford, have big diamond-​studded chips on their shoulders. No personality, no sense of humor. Smile, sweetheart! I’d love to have your job!

This place was so much fun! It’s a great thing to do if you have friends or family visiting you at Miami. Or even if you just want to make something unique for yourself or as a gift. This little shop is located in the ‘uptown’ area of Oxford, where all the other shops and restaurants are.
First you walk into the small shop and see the walls lined with pottery. There are pieces mixed in that are already pre-​made, these are nice because they give you some ideas and show you what the finished product looks like. There are a variety of different pottery pieces to choose from. Some of the finished items didn’t have a corresponding pottery item to paint on. This may have been because it was family weekend and they were especially busy, regardless I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted.
Tables are set up, and if you make a reservation, they will have table laid for your name written on the paper covering it. There are tips on the tables if you are new to this. But other than that. it’s just paint away at your own discretion. It’s a fun experience if you are with a good group of people. I could see how it would also be a calming and even therapeutic experience if you go on your own.
They do let you bring your own drinks and provide cups to drink out of. We brought a bottle of wine. Also keep in mind that it takes 7 days for your piece to be ready, so if you don’t live in the area you will want someone that can pick it up for you. They do offer shipping though.

If you have the misfortune of being in Oxford Ohio, either as a student or a visitor of one, first let me say that I am truly sorry! However, if you are looking for something fun and exciting to do, stopping by You’re Fired is a must!!! This is a Paint your own pottery store and it a GREAT Time! It is a locally owned business and I must say the owner is AWESOME!!!
Have your next party here and make it an event that everyone will always remember. They will even let you bring in your own wine or beer to get the painting party off to a great start.
