We ate inside on a Friday night wanting sushi. We ordered crab rangoon as an appetizer which was pretty good. They said their Mellow Yellow fountain wasn’t working so my husband said sprite was okay and they brought it in a can which was weird. Apparently they don’t have a functioning pop fountain. Also they were out of asparagus when I tried to order a roll with that in it. I guess it’s an odd ingredient but shouldn’t you commit to keeping things on hand you have on the menu? The other sushi rolls were pretty good, nothing memorable though. I would not eat inside again because it just felt dirty and lacked atmosphere. Also I think they were playing a Britney Spears album from early 2000s? Enough to loose your appetite. The waitress seemed untrained. I will try another sushi place before going back here but would try take outs only because I love sushi.

This was the worst food I have ever eaten. My son seemed to think the sushi was ok, he’s 10 though. As for my husband and myself we ordered off the Japanese menu, Yaki Soba and Beef Donburi, and both could barely force the food down. Both meals were bland except for the over powering taste of overcooked vegetables that even soy sauce couldn’t save. The smell also wasn’t pleasant and lingered for hours. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I’m surprised there is a Sushi restaurant in Oxford. After eating there I’m not surprised on how mediocre it was. The place was empty and the furniture and decorations run down and old. The waitress really didn’t want to be there… I don’t blame her. The food was ok. We had the spring rolls, Las Vegas roll, BMW roll. I didn’t care for the Las Vegas roll, it didn’t have a lot of flavor or texture. The BMW roll was good and the spring rolls were OK. I gave it 3 stars because the food and price were not terrible.

Not the absolute best sushi I’ve ever had, but pretty high up there. I LOVE the various vegetarian options. much more diverse than any other sushi places in the immediate area. I recommend this place to sushi lovers, and they always come back with a thumbs up! Tried the Thai there once, wasn’t that impressed. This will not stop me from going there though as the sushi is great! I think ONCE there was one other person in there while I was there? So service is always very attentive. Skip the carry out here, for some reason it just sucks when you get carry out.

It was hard to come up with a rating for this place. We came here on a recommendation from someone that frequents this place for lunch. First of all the service is extremely lacking here. The waitress seemed like she was in a bad mood the entire time and she took forever to take our order, bring our food and bring our bill. There was no one in the place so it seemed like service could have been better. My boyfriend ordered Thai and said it was very salty and unlike other Thai he’s ordered at similar restaurants. He said it wasn’t horrible but not great either. I ordered the sushi which was the one saving grace of the whole meal. It tasted fresh and was quite delicious. It would have been helpful if they had descriptions on all of their rolls but they were able to substitute for what I was looking for.

My wife and I went in on Friday after dropping off the kids for soccer practice. I had mixed feelings about going since hearing mixed reviews from friends. The place was empty at 5:00 pm when we arrived. The room is spartan, but clean and well maintained. This is not a place to go for the ambience. We started with green tea and the miso soup, which was very tasty. I had the vegetable tempura appetizer which was spectacular. The portion was generous with broccoli, green beans(really yummy), sweet potato(my all time favorite), and egg plant. We ordered the Michigan and Philadelphia rolls. They were out of cream cheese, which seemed odd until you read the other reviews. I don’t think they get much traffic and probably keep smaller quantities of ingredients on hand. Since the Philadelphia roll had cream cheese, we selected the Dragon roll instead. In this instance I was really happy that they were out. The dragon rolls was delicious and a wonderful compliment to the Michigan roll. Compared to other sushi restaurants, it was on the expensive side, however, we probably save the difference in gasoline by it being so close. All in all, we had a very positive experience and I will be back again soon.

Ugh. Terrible. My girlfriend and I went here for lunch at around 1 pm. We ordered a seaweed salad, the sushi lunch appetizer, and cashew chicken. The seaweed and sushi were ok, nothing special though. The cashew chicken was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. I’m not a picky eater whatsoever, but I couldn’t stomach more than one bite. It had a strong odor that reminded me of a locker room with plenty of wet socks in it. The waitress asked if there was something wrong when she noticed that we hadn’t had much. We told her that the food smelled and tasted bad. She said ok, walked away, and still charged us full price for everything. I will not be returning here, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Maybe something has changed in the last few months or maybe I caught them on an off day. I went against the advice of multiple friends and gave it a shot. I tried the philly roll, a spicy tuna, and some roll with tempura shrimp. Of the three only the shrimp toll was edible. The others were not fresh and the fish tasted awful. It could be that this location just doesn’t have the traffic so they can’t keep inventory flowing and fresh. Either way, I’m bummed. I was really hoping to have a great sushi place near home.

I like that someone was adventurous enough to bring Sushi/Japanese to Oxford. I do not like that it is in a very low visibility location and that the people of Oxford are not very food adventurous. The menu is huge, and I’m worried they’re trying to do too much. A HUGE sushi menu on it’s own, plus a full Japanese Menu, AND a full Thai menu. I’ve tried all three. I’ve never had anything bad here, it’s all good. But it’s pricey… More expensive than I usually pay for Sushi… which means WAY too expensive for the taste of most Oxfordians. I posted menus(that they only have in restaurant) that describe what actually comes on their many, many specialty rolls. Why they don’t post this on there website, I have no idea. Service is friendly, and the inside is nice enough(Converted the old Cottage Inn pizza), but I’ve never seen more than 1 or 2 other people in there. The price almost made me drop this to 3 stars, but I hope they succeed. If they had some specials, or a way I could get a solid meal for under $ 25, I would eat here close to once a week as opposed to once a month or so.

Great Sushi. Friendly service. Very generous Nigiri portions. My new favorite.

Yay, Sushi in Oxford! We walked in and there were three people sitting at a table and that was it… you could hear crickets chirp it was so quiet in there. We sat wherever we wanted(the options were endless). I chose the«Soup of the Day”-Crab, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and scallions. Wow was that good! Sometimes I get sick of Miso Soup and this was a refreshing change. I then chose the Salmon with Scallion Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were delicious and filling. The waitress was most pleasant and very professional. If the atmosphere was a little less sterile and more welcoming I think it would make me feel a bit more comfortable there. I got my little punch card for a free sushi roll on my 6th visit. All in all it was a good place. I will be back to fill up my punch card.
