Can I give zero stars??? HORRIBLEOWNERSHIP!!! They charged me $ 4100.00 and they will do nothing about it! It was not a mistake, it was PURE ignorance. I’ve worked in a restaurant for years and that amount should have NEVER been closed out. It should have been voided before the server ever left the building. But instead they just ran my card AGAIN for $ 41.00. I’ve been told that’s it’s «still pending and that I need to just wait a couple days and the money would be back in my account.» I had to physically go into the restaurant to prove that it already went through my bank account. No apologies, just excuses. I have $ 0 in my bank account so I’d like to give 0 stars!!! PLUSTHEFOODISSTINKS!!!

Stopped in for a light bite between some soccer games. The calamari was decent but not great. The sauce they gave with it was pretty gross. We ended up getting some thousand Island. The spinach artichoke dip was the bomb! We really loved it and wish they had given us more. The kids got a pepperoni pizza which they thoroughly enjoyed. The place was kind of slow and yet the waitress was a little slow as well. But it hit the spot

This place has consistently gotten better. Pretty much everything I’ve had is awesome. Well priced and a good variety. The ahi tuna was awesome! Needed a little sauce for dipping but I asked and they gave me soy sauce. The service is awesome we request the same waiter every time.

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Oxford. Service is always good, the food usually exceeds my expectations. I love their taco salad. My husband always gets their Jack Daniels burger. Can’t wait to try more of their food!

Normally this is our go to spot when we head out to dinner, but after this last visit I might rethink stopping in. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere seemed down. We weren’t greeted and the waitress seemed distracted. She forgot pieces of our order and seemed put out when we asked her questions about the menu. The food itself was only ok. My husbands fish seemed fishy and my steak was slightly over done. The only person who ate his while meal was my 2 year old… he devoured his chicken tenders.

My hubby, 3 friends, and myself came in here on a Saturday night. The place wasn’t super busy when we got there, but Oxford tends to be hit-or-miss. I work in a bar in Oxford, I get it. Our first server was great. Young guy, fun attitude, very attentive. He had to leave for the evening, so we offered to cash out so we could tip him. After he left, we didn’t see a single server… all of us wanted another round, so I went up to the bar to buy a beer. I know the bartender, he’s great. Attentive and great at his job! 5 stars to Cody. Shortly after I sat back down, a server showed up to check on us(imagine that…), but our beers were full. We didn’t see that server again… all of our beers were empty again, so we went to the bar again and ordered 4 beers from Cody. The server came to the service station, shot me a dirty look, and waited until we sat down to run over and talk to the bartender. She didn’t check on us again after that, but she and the manager(?) spent the rest of the evening staring at us and making faces at us… Listen, the food was GREAT. Bartender was wonderful. Original server? Phenomenal. We’re sad he left honestly. I didn’t even mind going to the bar, I’m happy to tip Cody anyway. We spent good money at the Ox, we all tip VERY well, and we’re not rude people! What upset me was having the server AND manager stare us down and give me dirty looks for taking care of my own beer. I hope this isn’t a recurring theme, the margarita pizza was so yummy!

My wife and I have been here several times. The ribs are very good. Tender and tasty. She loves the chicken alfredo. Service has always been top notch. Parking can be tricky. Shared with many other establishments. One of our go to places to dine

The food is, in a word, heavy. The clam chowder was really nice, but the salad was not fresh, the garnish for the fish and chips was grossly wilted, and the fried food was very greasy(needs to be drained better). I had the fish tacos, which were bland and would be better if the fish were marinated rather than breaded and deep-fried. The beers are on the pricey side, but they have a good selection. There is a nice atmosphere, although it was a little weird that a sports bar had an infomercial for an anti-wrinkle cream on the big screen rather than a game of some sort. Our server was rushed and didn’t pay much attention to us. Overall, we found the place mediocre but would be willing to give it another try.

Stopped in here recently for a few beers and an app(also had a birthday party here several years ago) and was more than satisfied with their selection of Michigan taps plus the shrimp cargot was awesome! We sat at the bar but the place was relatively sparse for a 4 – 5PM visitation on a Sunday afternoon and we were promptly greeted as well as informed of the great beers and limited time offerings they currently carried. Thoroughly appreciate when the ‘tender has some tastes that he/she mentions that might be out of season/out of stock soon so get it while you can. I’m a bit of a beer adventurer so I was eager to get a taste, which I was easily provided for. I ended up going the IPA route, having the Flying Monkey Smashbomb which was excellent and moving on to the Bell’s Hopsoulution IPA, which was also very good. The food, while only shared an app, was very good as well and I would recommend the Shrimp Cargot to anyone. Its like this little, holed platter, six of them, with shrimp sitting in a buttery garlic sauce, covered with cheese and scallions, with a half loaf of bread for dipping. It was real good. Atmosphere is also very cool, very chill. Not pretentious or overbearing and they have a jukebox as well. Would recommend for anyone!

Good, filling entrees served by exceptional wait staff in an environment that is comfortable and lively. We really enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip served with perfectly salted and crunchy tortilla chips. We shared the special of the day: chicken gyro wrap with fries. It is tasty. The iced tea hit the spot on a warm summer day. Good choice for a sports bar. The staff are attentive and friendly. Kudos to the training they receive. Perfect for this type of restaurant. We will be back to try a wider variety of entrees.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet! The Ox is our go-to place to eat. We are there consistently every Thursday night ordering pizza! I’ve also taken my girl friends here on a rare girls night out! It’s the kind of place where the owner remembers us and goes out of his way to say hi, and where we always request to sit in a certain waitresses section. Great food and great service!

This is really more of a 2.5 star place, but we were there with a big party and our waitress was fabulous so I rounded up. The menu offers a pretty big variety. Here’s something you don’t see on the menu every day: German potato salad. I didn’t have it but someone in our party did. While the food was good, I wasn’t blown away by anything. The chicken tortilla soup was very tasty and comforting for a cold winter’s day after walking around a Christmas tree farm. Some of the meal choices at our table — pizza(given 2 thumbs up by the kids), fish tacos, a Reuben, steak fajitas, chicken kebabs, and a pasta dish. Like I said, a wide variety of food, and everyone was satisfied but nobody raved about anything. Would I go back — yes, for sure. The waitress was super attentive and everyone was very friendly. It’s just not a place that I would crave a certain dish from.

We were all very pleased without selections. I had the panko crusted whitefish, which was on the sweeter side but i really liked it. My meal started with New England clam chowder and was accompanied by zucchini. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger with fries and she seemed pleased. We also had a couple items from the kids menu. Chicken tenders enough said and pizza which was good enough to make us think that next time in we will have to try their wood fired pizza. We will be back to enjoy some more.

Have to give The Ox an update. They really deserve great ratings. Their food and service are always top notch. You can tell that the chef and kitchen staff really care about the quality of the food they send out. I eat here with my family at least once a month and the kids love it too. Their bread sticks are wonderful and make a great starter. They also have great apps. Agree with Rachel’s assessment of the Spinach & Artichoke dip… but we love the Chili con Queso. The Chicken Rajun Cajun is one of my favorites with their strange but wonderful, sweet then spicy Diablo sauce. But my absolute fave are the fajitas. Funny to say, but their fajitas are so much better than the mexican restaurant next door(Casa Real), which has really gone down hill. In my opinion, the top spot in downtown Oxford. Which is saying a lot because of many great establishments like Red Knapps, 24th Street Tavern(yes, food not as high end but a fun place), Montana’s Rib & Chop House, and the great new Burning Oak Smokehouse.

My husband eats here a lot for lunch during the week, so he thought it would be great place for date night. 5 stars for the hubby! This place from beginning to end was great! The wait for a table was minimal, the food was awesome and our waitress was a sweetheart. We ordered drinks & an appetizer to start. Plus we both got soup with our order and breadsticks too. By the time our dinner came we were already stuffed! I highly recommend the Spinach & Artichoke dip, Chicken Dumpling Soup and the Guinness Stew — everything was so flavorful and delicious! Dinner was wonderful and I saw a lot of things on the menu that I’d like to come back and try. It didn’t hurt that the waitress was really nice, very attentive and hustled! Also, the ambiance is really great for a pub/sports bar type atmosphere. I’d recommend this place to all of my friends — I can’t wait to go back!(And that’s saying a lot because I live 35 minutes away!)

I’m from nowhere near Oxford, but luckily, my BF is and he took me here for a date night. They have an awesome craft beer selection! The menu is rather large and, again, somewhat confusing for a bar/restaurant. They have the standard pub fare, but the specials are trying to go gourmet. Why can’t a place stick to one genre and just nail it? I“ll never understand it. I got a french dip sandwich and fries, and it was very good, albeit the jus was a tad on the salty side(for me). The BF decided to go gourmet and got scallops with some orange sauce and asparagus. The scallops were actually really well cooked, but it just wasn’t even enough to fill up a grown man’s appetite and the entrée was pretty pricey at $ 17.00. No complaints about the staff, the waitress we had was very sweet and attentive. The bar itself is very large, and we didn’t have to wait, even on a Saturday evening, and there is ample parking around so we didn’t have to walk far either. Both huge pluses in my book! I would definitely go back, but really more for that bar feel, not necessarily for a gourmet dinner. /Pubby!
