Our service was mediocre to poor. We had to ask for a coffee refill after 20 minutes of no contact and after 40 minutes received our breakfast. The hash browns were cold in the middle (obviously frozen), English muffin was not toasted and the bread was dry and cheap. Overall a terrible breakfast but they get 2 stars because they discounted the meal. Very disappointing.

The Checkered Flag has great chili, wonderful lobster rolls, an excellent chicken lime sandeich and absolutely fabulous baked goods made in house! Our group of two teens and two adults swooned over fabulous caramel/​coffee and peanut butter cupcakes in the restaurant and brought some home. They are by far the best cupcakes any of us have ever had. They would be great for a party.
We have been visiting and eating in Western Maine for more than 20, years and this little restaurant aned it’s friendly, personable owners offer excellent food at a great price. Go and enjoy it’
