Sunrise Biscuits of Oxford

I didnt hate it but i wont be coming back here or recommending it to anyone. Bacon breakfast platter with extras for 9.25 got me a scoop of cooked powdered eggs that still taste like the box, a side of lumpy watery grits, 4 slices of bacon, a frozen hashbrown and a slice of sausage and a biscuit. I put the sausage in the biscuit and that was pretty good, but i would rather take the time to cook real, fresh hashbrowns, real eggs, and take my time with the grits. Everything here is just frozen or boxed stuff they reheat for a nominal fee. The food runner gave me attitude when i opened my box to check my order lol ugh and i cant stomach those fake eggs and i love eggs

I am not a morning person.
This place makes morning less painful.
Actually, I really wanted a nap after eating their sandwiches.
Well worth waking up early to buy, make sure you can treat yourself to a quick nap afterwards.

Food is great, if you can stand a horde of flies hovering around you while you wait for the food. Customer service is kind of a ioke. I called in an order for two cheeseburgers, went in to pick them, was told to wait, that they were not ready, 3 other people came in after I got there and ordered cheeseburgers and got them before I did. 30 minutes for a couple of cheeseburgers. …and the dude wondered why I looked annoyed. I won’t ever go back.

This place is five stars when it comes to biscuits. I was driving through Oxford on a Saturday at 6am and the only place in the area with cars in the lot that early and the lot was full, I knew I had a winner! I ordered a tenderloin biscuit with mayo, lettuce and tomato. The tenderloin was an inch thick and I would call it chicken fried tenderloin. The biscuits are extra soft and fluffy as well as LARGE! All I can say is this biscuits are heavanly no matter what meat you get on them.

Biscuits are pretty good here, if you like steak or chicken be prepared to wait a few minutes for your order to get cooked. Everything else goes quick though. Call ahead if you want to be in and out fast. otherwise grab a chair. The people are friendly here though and usually do their level best to get you what you need.

One word, awesome. Small gold mine if you ask me. Good food, lots bacon. Bacon sunrise is what you should get for all bacon lovers.

Biscuits with ATTITUDE! Friendly Patrons! Efficient Staff! Walk up and Order and sit down or stand up and wait (not real long — I was here at the morning Rush and even though a little Girl jumped three orders ahead of me because we both ordered a Country Ham Biscuit — OK I knew I could get Hers in just three orders and if you see my photo you will see… It WAS Worth the Wait!!! !! !) then you can stay and eat or leave or BOTH! I ate half at a table (spend a little time with the locals)!
Country Ham Biscuit! Slight taste on ONION Made it! An order or two ahead of my original order the Guy got onions on his, so I guess they grilled them on or near my Country Ham! Very Nice! I’m wondering if it could be duplicated? Hopefully!
Biscuit (bread part) was very good (top five) probably has Lard in it!

Why is Sunrise such a popular name for biscuit joints?
This was our first time in Oxford, and we were starving. Who can say no to biscuits? While it was lunch time, I probably should have gone with breakfast (which is served all day). I had the pimento cheese sandwich. It was good, you can’t go wrong with pimento cheese. But nothing remarkable or amazing. My sister did get a biscuit sandwich… and the biscuit was quite good! The hash brown was pretty drenched in grease, but that is what we were expecting.
Overall, I would give 2 star for lunch and 4 for breakfast. Next time I need comfort breakfast in Oxford… this is the place!

I had never been to oxford before and I may never come here again but if I do I would definitly come back to this place. The food is absolutely delicious. The biscuits are no doubt homemade and are everything you want in a heart stopping, after a night of drinking, early waking up in the morning, start your day with 72 fat grams breakfast. Words just don’t do justice. The pictures are the proof.
