Poor service. Bananas foster French toast had no spice. It was French toast with sliced raw bananas on top.

Zero stars. Service was terrible. Was served salads(which consisted of romaine lettuce & rock hard croutons) before drinks and appetizers. Scallops were undercooked. Sent them back and they were still undercooked. No visit from management after sending back the meal. Asked for bread and butter. Never received it. Acoustics are awful. Save your money.

Finally! Really good healthy food in a college town. Both my husband and I really enjoyed breakfast while visiting. Great quality FRESH and reasonably priced.

Great breakfast place in Oxford that not many people know about! Morning star café is under construction so Stella’s is letting them use their kitchen during breakfast and lunch. Their coffee was great, I think it was a seasonal blend. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, crab cake eggs Benedict and the banana foster French toast. The bacon was perfectly cooked and the hash browns we’re crispy, not greasy. The crab cakes were a little fishy, but still very good. The French toast was amazing, highly recommend getting. Overall, top breakfast spot in Oxford.

If zero stars was an option, that’s what this joke of a restaurant would receive. I am not sure how the quality of the food is because we waited for our food for over an hour before taking our business elsewhere. My day was ruined by the service from this«restaurant». Don’t waste your time by even opening the front door to this place. Extremely disappointed and I will continue to make sure they lose business unless something is changed.

Absolute worst place to eat in Oxford. Service was terrible and food was sub-par. Waited over 2 hours to get scrambled eggs. Will never come back here.

Hamburger and the flat bread were delicious. Unfortunately I selected the duo salad plate and was disappointed in how extremely bland the egg salad and chicken salad was. No flavor in either of them. Heck Kroger makes a better chicken salad. The cole slaw, as a side, is big and chunky. Hard to eat. I also had to go find a waiter in order to place my lunch order. No offer of more water or drinks. No wonder they are not ever busy. Maybe they solely rely on unknowing Miami parents.

Service was RIDICULOUSLY slow. Came for Sunday brunch and place was 75% full and took an hour to get served our food … and it was just breakfast stuff which was just OK.

When I first entered this place I was eagerly greeted by the manager. The way he spoke made me believe this was going to be the best dinner I had in quite sometime. My parents, grandparents, and little brother were here and it was going to be a wonderful night, right? Wrong. After being seated, we all ordered salads, all of which were agreeably very bland and in need of fresher greens and a completely different dressing. The manager came to check on us before and after our salads. For our entrees, many of us ordered the grilled filet of ribeye as well as the salmon fillet. My filet was priced like a fine Cincinnati steakhouse such as Jeff Rubys, meanwhile holding a flavor on a lower level than Outback. I made an effort to taste most of the side dishes and they were all bland as well. My grandpa actually enjoyed his salmon, but he may or may not have thought it was chicken. The owner checked on us three times during our meal. He then returned to offer us dinner and coffee, a must in his eyes. Many ordered decaf(which came out immediately after we finished dinner, nice!) and some ordered dessert. I ordered the vanilla cheesecake, which reminded me of a vanilla snack pack. The manager sat down and had a slice of cheesecake with us. Overall, the experience was absolutely terrible. The bad food is one thing, but even my wonderful family couldn’t have saved this miserable atmosphere featuring the lingering manager. I do not recommend this restaurant, Kona is right down the street, far cheaper, and had a much better atmosphere. Even the drinks are better. I hope this helps if you can’t decide. Cheers

«Oh Stella… Where have you been all my life… or at least when I was going to college in O-Town» A true oasis in a dense cloudy mix of horrible bar food! When I went to Miami, options were very limited, to say the least. Go to the dining hall or head on over to Uptown for some greasy wings, burger or a sandwich. Stella’s has changed all that. The seared scallops melted in my mouth and was free from that, not so appealing, sandy taste that can happen when chefs do not properly prepare it. The Salmon was also amazing and I really was tempted to ask our server if I could get a side of the Mushroom Risotto to go, but my waistline was able to talk my mouth out of ordering. Now, I make a point of stopping by when I’m in Oxford… every time! The food is beyond delicious, the people are super nice and accommodating and Sunday brunch fuels me up when I head out of town. I recommend heading there yourself… you can thank me later!!!

Went on Mother’s Day for breakfast. Food was ok. Uderstaffed. Had a small box of leftover that I left on the table; returned in about an hour and was told that they already threw away the box. No apology. Yes, each different restaurant has different policy, but I have seen much better service. Time to get out of Oxford.

Stella has had its ups and downs over the past few years. At one point it got so unpredictable that I dropped it from my regular rotation. And that’s saying something, because in Oxford there isn’t that much of a rotation. So, based on that, and based on three recent visits within the span of two weeks, I’m going to rate Stella a 4 — for now. It’s definitely better and much more consistent these days, and that’s huge. I had the same dish — salmon filet with spinach, mushroom risotto, and a(celaric?) purée. Nice mix of seemingly simple flavors perfectly executed. Each time. With a house chardonnay for $ 6, it’s a great deal. Upsold myself to a $ 9 glass the last time just for kicks. I’ve tasted the pork medallions and the filet. I’d go for the filet, nicely presented in some mashed root vegetables and a demi. MM. Also had a salad each time; basic, but OK. Companions liked the soups(tomato based something or other). And for dessert, their homemade tiramisu is still the bomb. Service is good. They are on and I hope this keeps up.

If it’s possible to give a zero I would. Do not dine here! First of all, they ask for a credit card when you make the reservation, so that seemed strange as no restaurant does that — it’s always just name and phone number everywhere else in the country basically! Management is disrespectful, rude and arrogant. BEWARE! They will charge your credit card $ 20 per person in your dinner party if for ANY reason you must cancel or arrive late beyond your control. Even if you call! This establishment is not welcoming or customer service friendly and there are many other fun and yummy places to dine on campus with your student or family, so pass this one up. We did not eat there and are glad we didn’t spend our money or time there. New management that understands people, business and service should be an immediate action.

On my last trip, I loved their duck. Unfortunately, it is now off of the menu for the Fall 2014 season. I am not sure if they will put it back. I suppose this is where diners should be aware that Stella 12 Beech changes its menu seasonally. It makes sense, too, because not all vegetables are available at all times. On my most recent trip, I had their quinoa and roasted vegetables. I also added a salmon fillet. The fillet was perfectly seared on one side. The salad was very fresh and lightly dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. My only issue with it was that the quinoa was slightly undercooked. The seeds were still mostly encased in their outershell. The point of using quinoa is to use it as replacement for grains, but when it is undercooked, its texture does not have the mouthfeel of grains. The kitchen staff did do a good job of washing away the bitterness of quinoa’s outershell, though. I also had their vanilla cheesecake dessert. It tasted like vanilla beans(like it’s supposed to) instead of vanilla extract. Excellent.

Stopped in with the family while visiting Oxford. I had the pork special and it was just a little dry. The service was good and the drinks were yummy. I would have given them a 4 if the pork were a bit better. The rest of the family loved what they ordered so would come back for another try.

Wow, my first time as we could never get a reservation last year. Upon entering and asking for our table I noticed the Maitre de was very nervous by the clicking of his pen! I was given my corner table but service was off as it appeared they were understaffed by our waitress constantly apologizing the food would be right out. I ordered the Caprese salad. The mozzarella was soft and super fresh, but the tomatoes were tasteless. My next course was the stuffed calimari which was nicely prepared but a bit simple in taste. My family was happy but they have simples tastes!

I recently revisited Stella after a three-year hiatus. The first time I ate here was for lunch after it hadn’t been open long. The prices were high and the portions small. The restaurant recently celebrated its four-year anniversary and I happened to be there for it. The service was great and it didn’t hurt that they were giving away free champagne for their celebration. The food was much better than I remembered. I ordered a fish dish with rice, artichokes, etc. It tasted even better the next day. Great wine list and I will definitely be back again before another three years.

I appreciate that somebody is shooting for«tasty and upscale» in downtown Oxford, but it sort of makes me sad if Stella is the best they can do. The food is plain and straightforward– I had a steak salad that was fine but failed the«I can make it better myself» test. My companions’ food looked worse, and one item had to be sent back. If «they have truffle oil» is the best that can be said about it, doesn’t that concern you?

Yum! I haven’t had a meal this delightful and satisfying in quite some time. Every aspect of the meal was perfectly prepared and presented. The portions are huge, and while I became full rather quickly, I couldn’t bring myself to stop eating. They have a surprisingly good, upscale vegetarian/vegan selection that is well thought out and filling. It isn’t just a meat dish with the meat taken out. They have many exciting ingredients like semi-exotic grains, and truffle oil. It’s a gem in a small town in Ohio, and I would happily return.
