Margherita’s Italian Restaurant

This is small pizzeria up in Oxnard, PA. I had lunch here with my brother recently when we gave this place a try. Upon walking in it’s kinda like walking back in time. Wood paneling. Paper placemats with advertisements on them, etc.
It was about 12:30pm on a Tuesday afternoon and we were the only customers that I could see. I wasn’t sure what to make of the place. There was an open air kitchen off to the right side that was empty. We seated ourselves when no one showed up to seat us.
Eventually our server did show up with some menus and we ordered drinks. We decided to get a large pizza with Pepperoni and Italian Sausage. The pizza looked pretty good when it arrived. The dough was fresh and the pepperoni was good to, however the Italian Sausage was bleh. It wasn’t spoiled or anything, it just wasn’t (in my opinion anyway) a good Italian Sausage.
We didn’t see our server again until she brought us the check. Never offered refills, etc. Both of us came to the same conclusion and all I have to say was that the whole experience was decidedly mundane. Absentee server. The food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. meh… I think once was enough for this place.

Went to this place, there was no place to sit, all the tables that were available were not cleared. found a table for 2 and sat and waited… no one waited on us. .we got up and left. .I don’t care how good the food is, If the service is bad then so is the restaurant. Not a first good impression!

If you want the best tasting pizza, here it is! I grew up in Oxford and they still have the best pizza in town next to their competition. It’s the kind of cheese that’s stringy and goey with just the right amount of sauce. Also, their pizza crust isn’t too thick and super chewy. It’s just right! I have tried their other menu items (which are okay, I’ve had better) but their pizza is awesome and you can’t beat their price! $ 5 for personal pan and a drink (for lunch). I always tell them I would rather pay more for their pizza than for them to reduce cost and go cheap on ingredients to keep prices the same. This is a gem in Oxford!

Only thing I’ve ever ordered from here is their pizza. It’s awesome … reminds me of NYC! Staff always greet you immediately upon entering, extremely friendly, and fast. Highly recommended. (Only giving 4-​stars — because I’ve only had their pizza, cannot review their other food. In addition never dined in, always carried out.)

Very good food. Far better than I expected ands great value for the money. I had the lasagna and it was really home made. The taste was great and I will be back !!!

Was extremely disappointed with the pizza I got last week. We went in to order two pizzas to go. The young man who took our order was very nice. I asked for my pizza to be lightly baked and stated that I do not like burnt crust. My husband commented that the guy knew how we like our pizza, and the guy smiled and said «yep.» He even wrote it down. So we waited for the pizza to get done, then we took it home. That was around 8:30. I didn’t open the box right away because the pizza was really hot, so I let it sit for a few minutes. When I finally did open the box, I discovered that not only was my pizza NOT baked lightly, it was CHARRED. Actually BLACK on the bottom. By that time it was a little after 9pm. My husband took the pizza back, but they were CLOSED. No excuse for putting out a product like that. If you screw it up, MAKE ANOTHER ONE. Don’t pass it off to the customer. You’ll end up with a review like this one.

Best pizza in town. The sauce is delicious, and their menu is well priced.

Seated immediately, server was fast, friendly, and efficient. Food was OK, the buffalo chicken wrap was tasty but there was a dearth of chicken on it… they really skimped here. The pizza was average as pizza goes, the burger was pretty good, although they overcooked it slightly. All in all a 2 out of 5. Would have rated the place a 3 out of 5 but someone was smoking cigarettes in the kitchen and we could smell it out in the restaurant. Dat nasty !! Someone needs to report them to the board of health.

Best pizza in town. Love it here. The owner is very friendly and the staff is great. Awesome local place.

I dropped in on March 29^th, 2013. First impression was that this place has been owned by the same family forever. You can tell because it looks like it was last decorated in the 70’s. It has a really old feel to it. Sort of like having dinner at your grandfather’s favorite restaurant.
The food was just ok. It won’t win any awards but it didn’t make anyone sick either. My wife and I got a pizza and left the leftovers there. It was just bland. My son got a chicken strip meal off the kid’s menu. His chicken was so salty that he couldn’t eat it.
The place is in desperate need of a cleaning. The ceiling fans are caked in dust and you won’t want to touch anything in the restroom.
Finally, when we went to check out the woman behind the counter had to finish the bite of whatever she was eating before she could ring us out.
Unfortunately there are few pizza places around Avondale or Oxford but you can find better.

The pizza is good. Everything is at least fair except the prices.

Best pizza in town. People know your name. They keep up the standards of pizza in the north east. We always look forward to picking up a pie when we get in to town.

Great food! I’ve been going with my family for about 10 years, and we’ve always been provided great service and exceptional cuisine.

Tried this place twice and we won’t go back. Spaghetti was soft, it was al dente 3 hours before it arrived at our table. The red sauce had that ‘metally can’ taste. The kids did love the playground.
