Went here for coffee after a relative died. Had a somber conversation with my godfather about the direction of my life and then went in the bathroom to sulk and collect my thoughts for a moment. Had a great iced coffee and Danish. Four stars.

I’m usually okay with the service here, but I was extremely upset when I walked in at 6:55 and I was told that they would not serve me because they close in 5 minutes. Seriously??? I just wanted a cup of coffee!!!

Awesome little coffee shop that seems lost in a bland strip mall. They had cold press coffee(yay) that was great, and some food options. A few nice comfy chairs as well, and a TV for sports. Oxford’s quite the sports town – even the punky barrista with purple hair was wearing an Olé Miss bowl t-shirt. You gotta love that. This place would fit right in in Austin.

For a place like Oxford, I was hoping for a bit more from a coffee shop. The coffee here is awful. I enjoy the atmosphere, so I go there often. Each time, just before I go, I temper my expectations hoping the coffee won’t be quite so bad. And every time, I am wrong. It might even be getting worse. The lattes here aren’t as bad as their coffee, but for a coffee house to fail at their main attraction says all too much. If you’re looking for coffee, go to Square Books, Bottletree Bakery, or home brew. If those aren’t options, you are better off drinking a Red Bull.

Great coffee shop. Without a Starbucks in the city(I know! Crazy…) this place is a great alternative. There’s a good bit of college studying going on, with Olé Miss just down the street, but it wasn’t packed and those students were really studying and not being loud or obnoxious or using the place as a social gathering place. So it was quiet and perfect to get some quality work done.

Bright place with lots of seating — tables and comfy chairs. Free wifi, nice décor, including a fireplace. Perfect«coffee house» music, and of course good coffee! Came here on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too crowded. I ordered a small coffee($ 1.75) and a blueberry muffin($ 2.01). I don’t expect much in the way of coffee shop muffins, but this exceeded my expectations. There were even refills on the coffee.

A clarification — the machines that they use at this west Oxford location are super automatics, so all that is involved in the preparation of the espresso drinks is button pushing. There is some milk frothing when necessary but is low on steam from the sound of it(and not properly frothed anyway, only really heated). I happened to be there today with my wife, ordered a latte with an extra shot, and it was terribly weak with just a hint of coffee taste — essentially espresso flavored milk. I almost returned it and would have considered the latte undrinkable w/o the extra shot. In fact, I asked them to confirm that I’d received a double. I suppose this super-automatic improves consistency, but the coffee remains mediocre and for a coffee shop, that is unacceptable for me. I originally thought that barista training was in order here, but I’m not sure that can do much in way of improving the coffee. Very disappointing. IMO, if you use a super automatic, you forfeit a star.

The place for coffee in Oxpatch. They have two locations and this one is on the west side of town. I’ve spent many an hour writing in coffee shops in Oxford, and High Point consistently pours the best cup.
