Thank you Unilocal,we would not have found this place on our roadtrip without you. Don’t let the looks deceive you, the food is great. All you can eat Carolina BBQ and Southern food. My family loved it, inexpensive and plentiful (although my 4 year old, who doesn’t eat much, if anything, was overcharged at $ 8). I recommend this to anyone wanting down-​home cooking without the frills. But the management could put a little effort into maintenance and a fresh facelift for the place.

When we walked in, there was no hostess to greet us. 45 seconds later she came and advised us that we could seat ourselves. They put absolutely no money into making this place presentable. lt didn’t look clean, there was food on floor, & seats. When we went to buffet, the plates were still wet & some dirty, the meats looked appetizing but none of the sides screamed, «try me.» The chicken gizzards were soft, there was so much steam coming from pans it made the fried foods soggy. My husband is not a hard man to please (so he says… lol) & he said the Carolina Barbque’s in Roanoke Rapids & Rocky Mount were much better… I agree. Will we make the drive from Durham to dine here again. probably not.

We went to this place on 4/4/15…Lots of options. We sampled a little bit of everything (even frog legs. Ewww) The foods are at the right temperature. We got water to drink and the total bill was almost $ 27! $ 12.99 each and that doesn’t include drink. A bit pricey but we left stuffed to the gills :) I wish it was more like $ 8.99 a person. The only bad thing was the carrot cake it was not good and the cornbread want very good either. My favorite was the bbq and stewed tomatoes :)

My wife, our 38 year old son, and I ate lunch there today. Bbq pork was good and bbq Turkey crazy good. All other food right temp and tasty. Good variety and has something for almost everyone. Better than reviews showed. Try it!

Well I thought it couldn’t get worse than the Butner Carolina Bbq but I was wrong. This place is horrible. When we walked in, the hostess was sitting on a bench. I thought she was a customer. She remained seated while she told us to sit anywhere. All of the food we tried was warm at best. I believe the majority of it was either frozen or canned industrial fare. The crab cake was made of imitation crab, yuck why even bother! The place was dirty and run down looking. The fried chicken that was fresh out of the fryer was warm and pink. It is scary how there food is not steaming hot. Flounder was chewy. Shrimp was cold. This is more than a rip off for 10.99 for buffet and over 30 dollars for 2 people to eat lunch. Golden Corral you are not nor will you ever be! Never ever ever again!!!

Not a bad local place. The BBQ is good and a nice selection of food including some seafood and soul food in addition to the BBQ staples. Ask for Tevin; he will treat you right. Buffet is $ 8.99 plus your drink.
