My boyfriend and I’s favorite restaurant in Owosso! Great prices and wonderful food! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some great Mexican food, definitely my the best in town. Keep up the good work :)

Excellent place to get authentic Mexican! The prices are good and the food is fabulous! I love the chips and salsa too, plus the décor is very cool! Highly recommend!

It’s ok. Probably won’t go back. Chips were terrible. Bad oil used. Other food good. Service was slow and had to ask several times for a drink refill. It’s par to course for the area.

Lunch specials are a bang for your buck. Very good, I enjoy the fajitas. Me and my wife and son go here and spend less than 20 dollars for lunch and fill the table up with food. I am glad it is here in Owosso!

I finally got a reluctant family member to come try this place, and we both enjoyed a surprisingly good meal with excellent service. We’ll be back. Mild seasonings but there were four bottles of hot sauce at the table for those who like it. Fresh guacamole. Pollo Rico was excellent.

Great Mexican food and Great service. They always seem to give you large portions and it taste good. The place is decorated really nice on the inside. They are always busy.

I enjoy going to El Potrero. The portions are large. The menu has lots of Mexican food options. I had the Polo loco. It comes with rice and beans. The sauce has a nice spicy bite to it but not too overpowering. The chips and salsa are good. Not sure if the salsa is freshly made but it doesn’t tasted like it is from a jar. I think the menu and prices have increased but it is still a good value.

Echoing the sentiment of a previous reviewer… this is a review based on the fact that — until recently — Owosso only had Bob Evans and Applebee’s. I hate both. Just sayin. My food here was decent. I won’t complain. I also won’t compare it to Atlanta Mexican… just because I’m being nice today. But the value, the variety, the service… all in all pretty good. For Owosso.

like the first review, this is a relative review for owosso. taco bell is not mexican food, so el potrero was a pleasant surprise. I had a simple quesadilla and it was delish(how can you screw them up you may ask, but places regularly do!). I hope they can survive in owosso as it gets me sad when so many places come and go.

Disclaimer: The three stars is a relative three stars — three stars for Owosso, two stars at best here at home. I went with my mother and sister to El Potrero for lunch this past week, and there isn’t really much to say about it. It is your typical American Tex-Mex fare, albeit in appreciably large® quantities. I had only a tamal and a flauta, and both were pretty acceptable. Personally, I prefer my tamales to come still wrapped, but that’s just splitting hairs. Overall, reasonable service, prices, and food make it an OK destination for Mexican in Owosso.
