Ntb-National Tire & Battery

I am doing my review before my work is done i called here after going to mr tire, firestone and even hough they were booked i eas able to bring my work truk in to get it looked at because i was having some minor issues. CHARLES went over everything with me and even told me that before they do anything he wants to do an inspection just to make sure before they do the work i want its nothing else preventing them from doing it. I like that. i definitely will be back

Came in for a tire check, the tire needee to be patched. Very fast service. Everyone was very friendly. Will come back for future needs and will be referring my friends here.

Recently visited NTB for car servicing of oil change and alignment. In addition to these services, they checked the entire car. They stated I needed my rear struts replaced for $ 1100. I said no I didn’t want them changed. The salesman said are you sure this is something serious. I still said no. I took car to different trustable mechanic and he said nothing was wrong. This is the second time I have encountered NTB making suggestions and quotes of hundreds or thousand of dollars of services that were not necessary. They are out to get your money. They suck with their service. I don’t trust this location at all. Trust the reviews…

I’m not if it was because I just left an auto shop with TERRIBLE service or what, but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at NTB. I needed two new front tires. They were able to give me a price $ 60-​$ 80 cheaper than other shops. I left my car there and within an hour they left a message saying that my car was ready. Of course, they looked over my car for other issues which i kindly opted out, but there was no haggle or hassle. I’ve made an appointment for rear tires and look forward to another great experience. The customer service was prompt and thorough.
UPDATE: Went back to get new rear tires. I knew they would also look at my rear brakes too, so I alerted them that I already knew they were in bad shape and had plans to get them fixed next week. Dan (who was so friggin awesome) told me that NTB could match the estimate I had for my breaks or even beat it with a lower price. I told him that he could take a look but according to other mechanics (Monroe Muffler in Reisterstown and Midas in Owings Mills) I needed an entire breaking system: brake pads, rotors and new calipers. Dan took a look and told me that I didn’t need the calipers, I just needed my pistons lubed. that alone saved me over $ 400. The fact that this place alerted me of work that DIDN’t need to be done, has sold me for life. Usually mechanics sell your everything but the kitchen sink but Dan kept it funky with me and on top of all that offered a mail-​n rebate. I will take my car to NTB for EVERYTHING from an oil change to a new transmission. LOL! Highly recommend!

Went in to install tires I purchased online. The service was prompt and polite, the prices were OK– not the cheapest on the block, but not outrageously high. The work was finished by the promised time.
The bad:
Tthey did a wheel alignment, and when I looked at the printout it indicated that thy used a 2WD settings on their machine, my vehicle was 4WD, the specs were different.
They call me with the message that my rear brakes were down to 1/​32″ and wanted to replace them, brake fluid, the works… I refused because I do such service myself. When I replaced the brake pads at home, I noticed that none was even close to 1/​32″. I measured the worst pad, and it was 5/​32″ — good for at least another 5000 miles.
When i was taking the wheels off for the brake job I noticed that all wheel lugs needed a different torque to turn– I suspect they didn’t torque the lugs properly.

I came in for an oil change and a quick tire patch and it ended up taking over 2 hours (he quoted me at 40 mins). They told me about a bunch of other things I needed too (I opted not to), and they disregarded the online appointment I’d made. Overall I was very disappointed and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

I dropped my car off at 8:30 in the morning and they said it would be ready early afternoon. I got there at 5:15 PM and they said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. 90 minutes later, we were finally ready to go. They took FOREVER and totally underestimated how long they would take.

Sadly, I have to register a major complaint. On Nov. 13, 2013, I needed a battery and called around for prices. When I called NTB in Owings Mills, MD, 8424 Reisterstown Rd., I was give a price of 134.00 INSTALLED for a Toyota Yaris battery. The clerk checked and told me it was in stock. And, that there would be a 20.00 mail in rebate.
BUT, when we arrived, we were told that the battery for that price was not in stock and the only other battery was 170 installed.
Maybe this was on the up and up but it didn’t feel right. When my step son arrived to bring the extra money needed, he said, and I quote: «Oh, stay away from these people; they did the same thing to me.»
I left with a really bad taste in my mouth, even though I realized that the larger price gave me a longer warranty.

I needed an oil change and I wanted to find a place that had free WiFi in its waiting area. I went through the auto service coupons that I had received in the mail and I found one from NTB. I called the number on the coupon and asked if they had free WiFi and they told me that they did. I was pretty amazed with that since I am not used to going to auto service places that have that feature.
I drove over and checked my car in. He asked if my tires need to be rotated and I told him that I was not sure. When he went out to get my mileage and check my tires he was nice enough to show me how to determine which tears had the most wear and he told me that tires with the best tread should be in the back. Mine already were in the back.
While my car was being serviced I plugged in my laptop and I played Diablo III until my car was ready about 20ish minutes later. I paid my tab and I asked if I could stay for about another since I was going to see The Hobbit up the road later. They were nice enough to let me stay and play my game and I really appreciated it.

Went here for new tires. I didn’t want to spend the day here, so I opted for the first appointment of the day.
To my surprise, I was «on the rim and out the door» in about an hour. The time went fast as I was in the most comfortable automotive waiting area (outside of a dealership)
As I was checking out, the salesperson was nice enough to let me know that I needed new brakes and that they could install them right now, or he’d be more than happy to make an appointment for me to return at a time that was convenient for me.
How nice!
Except…I had just gotten new brakes… at the dealership… a few days earlier… when THAT salesperson told me that I needed new tires.
Womp, womp…
