My Dad and I have been coming here for years. Some of my favorites rolls are the sakura maki, volcano roll, tarzan roll, and rainbow roll. Every time my Dad and I have come here, we have been very happy. On Friday, I met my Dad for lunch, and the second I walked in, I knew something was different about the place. In the past, all the sushi chefs had greeted me with hellos and smiles. This time, in addition to this, we got big welcomes from all the servers. That was different. One of them even came up to my Dad personally and welcomed him back(he had eaten there earlier in the week). It was very nice. The menu also changed. They had at least ten new rolls listed. We began with the tuna tacos, which had ahi tuna, avocado, rice, and greens inside a wanton-like shell. It was out of this world. For our sushi, we had the tarzan roll and two brand new rolls. I don’t remember the names of them. Each one was delicious. The best came for last. As my Dad and I were leaving Edo with smiles on our faces, one of the waitresses ran up to us, asked us to wait a second, and ran to the kitchen. When she came back, she gave us a complimentary tuna taco. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen in a restaurant. Thanks to the outstanding service, atmosphere, and, of course, food, you can definitely expect to find me back here soon.

I have been coming here for years and it never fails me when I’m in the mood for sushi. California and Spicy tuna are my go to. You will be happy to know that you can also take out desserts like mochi ice cream which are available in red bean and green tea! The ambience is calm and serene, much like you expect a Japanese restaurant to be. It is a bit on the smaller side in terms of space but there is a private room(which basically fits a long table) which is great for big groups. Definitely a place I will return to time and time again.

I like Edo 2 and had to try out Edo Mae. Both restaurants are really close to each other but they do well. They both have a very quiet Asian ambiance where I feel like the staff is trying to quietly fade into the background. It’s too quiet! Makes me feel like I need to whisper. So I always sit at the bar but the sushi guys aren’t very friendly either. In fact you don’t order from them like a typical Japanese restaurant. You still order from the waitress and she delivers the sushi to you from the sushi bar top. Kinda funny to me. The Martin salad special was surprisingly great cuts of fish: buttery and smooth salmon, tuna and hamachi in spicy tobiko sauce on a ton of avocado. $ 16 was enough for 2 to share. Kalbi Korean short rib appetizer was disappointing even for only $ 3. 3 small pieces of kalbi. It needed to be marinaded longer and more tender. The flavor was okay but needs to be slightly sweeter. Seaweed salad is always typical and good. Chilean Sea Bass dinner with miso and a side salad for about $ 25. Comes with a bowl of rice — wish they didn’t sprinkle sesame seeds on it(so overrated). At first I thought the first bite of sea bass was a bit chewy but then I realized it was buttery and smooth. There were two big pieces with baby corn(not my thing) and 3 pieces of steamed broccoli. It was great except I forgot my to go container on the counter with a huge chunk of sea bass… that was about $ 30 of fish!
